Y/n POV
I got up and put on my cloak, hoping they didn't see me blush. I put my sword at my side and left my bag here. I probably wouldn't need it anyways. I made sure my hood was covering most of my face. I turned around to face the guys.
"Umm. Sorry about that," I told them
"It's fine. I get it," Garroth told me. I wonder if he went through the same thing as me. Probably not. But I do hear he is from O'khasis.
I stood there for a bit. Looking at them, expecting them to tell me what to
do. "So?" I asked them.
"Oh right! So Y/n, you will be staying with us in the guard tower! But you will be having your own room so don't worry. After we gain more of your trust you can move into a house here," Laurance explained to me.
"Cool. I'll be out getting food. Get me if you need me," I say as I push past them.
"Wait!" I turned around to see what Laurance wanted. "Do you want a tour around the village?" He asked. Honestly I actually would because I have no clue where I am going.
"Sure," I tell him. He smiles and we go down the ladder together.
-Time skip :3-
The tour was great! I found out Laurance was a pretty funny guy. And kind of cute. Wait what am I thinking? He was the bush guy! I can't fall for a bush guy! I pushed those thoughts aside as we were walking back to the tree house to grab my backpack so I could move into the guard tower. Just then I heard a squeal behind me.
"So you must be the new girl!" It was a woman with hair that was so red it seemed to be on fire.
"Um yeah, Y/n." I told her. These people didn't seem notice by my name that I was a princess so I decided to use my real name. I trusted them enough.
"My name's Cadenza!" She looked me up and down. "Hmm. That cloak covers most of your clothes, but from what I can see, they are in horrible condition. I can have an outfit for you by tomorrow!" She squealed with delight.
"Yeah, that would be nice, actually," I told Cadenza.
"What is your favorite color?" She asked me.
"F/n and 2/f/c," I told her.
"Eee! This is going to be perfect!" She yelled as she ran back to her house.
"Heh, that's my adoptive sister, Cadenza," Laurance told me.
We walked up the path and climbed the ladder to the tree. I walked over to my bed and grabbed my bag. I didn't have much in it, just an apple and an empty bottle. I realized who the apple was for.
"Where is my horse!?" I turned around asking Laurance.
"We took him near the gate with Lord Aphmau's horse. Don't worry he is perfectly fine," he told me in a calming voice.
"Oh. Okay. Thank you," I said.
"No problem," he replied. He was the only person I had thanked since I got here. Then again we had been hanging out more than I did with others.
I walked past him so I could settle in at the guard tower. I jogged down the pathway that led down to the ground. I wasn't one to walk, really. I soon got to the tower. It was pretty nice. I went up the ladder and found my room. It was a sign above the door that wrote Y/n in
f/c lettering. I pushed open the door to see a fairly simple room. A bed was in the back left corner of the room with a painting hanging above it. The back wall had a small window on it. There was a nightstand right next to the bed. I didn't have anything that I took from my home village to put in there so I just put my bag on the hook that was on the right wall. I put my sword down on the other side of the nightstand.
"Looks like you're making yourself at home," A familiar voice says.
I jump, not expecting someone to come up behind me. I didn't say anything because I would end up embarrassing myself more.
"Heh, scared you, didn't I?" Laurance asked me. I knew he had that smirk on his face. That cute smirk. No! He might be cute but he probably likes Aphmau.
I turned around at last. I was right about the smirk. "Maybe a little," I said, laughing some while saying it.
"Oh, so I finally made you laugh, huh?" He said while giggling.
I looked up at him. My hood fell off my head because let's face it, he is pretty tall and I'm pretty short. I blushed a little, seeing as he was studying my face.
"You look beautiful without your cloak on," he told me, staring at me with those thoughtful eyes. My cheeks turned a bright pink and I turned away. I looked outside and the sun was setting.
"Thank you," I said sincerely. "Not just for calling me beautiful, but for just being nice to me. Nobody was very nice to me back at the castle," I told him. I didn't want to go into my full life story. Not yet at least.
"No problem," he said. I could tell he was smiling even though I wasn't looking at him.
Laurance's POV
I was stunned by the way that she thanked me. It didn't seem like something she would say. I leave her doorway without saying anything else. I go to my room, the room right next to hers. Irene, she is gorgeous. Those e/c eyes and that h/c hair! I don't know if she likes me though. Well I mean I don't think she likes anyone, but I think I grew on her.
