Y/n POV
A woman with jet black hair and caramel eyes came into the tree house. She was wearing a beautiful purple and white dress with white lace running up her arms. A flower crown sat on top of her head. "Garroth told me we have a new visitor," she said
"Yeah her name is F/n" replied Laurance. She extended her arm, expecting a hand shake. I cautiously accepted.
"I'm Aphmau," She told me with a bright smile. I gave a shy smile back. "Laurance, why don't you leave F/n and I to talk about some things," she asked politely. He got up and left the tree. "So where do you come from, F/n?" She questioned me.
I couldn't tell her I was from White Rain or she might expect something was up. "Scaleswind," I said, not looking up. I didn't want her to see my face.
"Why did you leave that place? It's beautiful there,"
I thought about this. I had to choose my words carefully or she might become suspicious. "Just wasn't the place for me," I blankly stated. I hope she bought it. Just then a man with hair the color of lapis and eyes of the same color came up.
"Lady Aphmau! There you are! I was wondering if I could talk to you about something in private?" The man said
"Umm sure, Dante. Can you get Laurance and have him keep an eye on her?" She replied, pointing at me
"Of course, Aphmau. Meet me at the docks," the man said, probably Dante. About 5 minutes later Laurance came up the ladder and Aphmau left.
"So I hear you came from Scaleswind, huh?" He asked me as he sat down next to me.
"Yeah I didn't like it there so I left," I told him, as calmly as I could.
"Heh, funny. You came in from the direction of White Rain, not Scaleswind." He found me out. I couldn't tell him though or he might send me back. Maybe I could trust him though.
"Fine, you got me. I came from White Rain, not Scaleswind. Anything else?" I didn't want to tell him the full truth until I knew I could trust him.
"Why would you run away? I know the lord of White Rain is not the best but at least you aren't princess, F/n. I hear she is locked inside the castle."
For the first time since I had met these people I look up. I pull down my hood revealing my unmistakable h/c and e/c. His jaw drops.
"P-Princess Y/n!?" Laurance exclaims
"Shhhh!" I covered his mouth. "I don't want people to know who I am. Got it?" I slowly took my hand away from his mouth.
"I have to tell Lord Aphmau but I won't tell anyone else," I knew I couldn't trust him.
I scowl at him and look back down, pulling my hood back up.
Laurance's POV
I can't believe she is the princess from White Rain! I could tell she looked mad after I told her I had to tell Aphmau. I didn't want to make her upset though. I mean she is kind of cute. We sat in silence for a while.
"You hungry?" I ask her.
"Yeah, I hadn't eaten since early this morning and I can tell it's starting to get dark out," She explained. I got up and grabbed some bread from a nearby chest. I handed it to her and she accepted.
"Thanks," she muttered as she nibbled her bread. When I was about to say something Garroth came up.
"Aphmau said that F/n can stay for now but she would have to stay in the tree house with a guard up here with her," he whispered to me
"Okay. Listen I can do it tonight. I know you have to patrol so it's fine," I told him as he walked back to the ladder.
"So I'm staying I guess," I heard her say, still eating her bread.
"Heh, yeah," I replied.
"So can I have my sword back now?" She asked me.
"Yeah, since you're staying let me get your stuff," I walked over to where I set her stuff down and brought it to her. It was just a f/c backpack and an obsidian broadsword. As soon as I handed it to her she walked to a bed and seemed to have claimed it. She set her stuff down next to it and went straight to sleep. I found a chair about 10 ft away and sat down. I needed to be close to her in case she made a move, but not stalker close.
Y/n POV
I heard talking near me. I realized I was in that tree house still. Least it was better than my room at the castle. I decided to listen in on the nearby conversation...
"Garroth, we can't just keep her up in the tree house for forever!" That must have been Laurance whisper shouting.
"I know, Laurance, but what else are we suppose to do? She might try to escape if we let her roam the village on her own! Let alone have her own house!" Garroth told him.
"I know. Listen, what if she stays in the guard tower with us? I mean she could still have her own room but still be guarded. As for the town part, I'm sure we'll be fine! You should have seen her last night. I gave her her things back and she just crashed on the bed," Laurance argued.
I thought this would be a good time to fake wake up. I sat up in bed rubbing my eyes. Garroth and Laurance both looked over at me. Just then I realized I wasn't wearing my hood. I turned around as quick as possible, hoping they didn't see me for too long. I checked the down on the floor at sides of my bed looking for it with no luck.
"WHERE IS MY CLOAK?!" I shouted. The boys seemed shocked at my outburst of anger.
"You were all tangled up in it this morning so I took it off of you," Laurance told me wearily, tossing it at me.
"T-Thanks," I felt my cheeks heating up.
