Nursery Rhymes
"Butterfly, butterfly
Come fly, fly
Yellow butterfly, white butterfly"
The soft words escaped Jungkook's dry, cracked lips as he dragged his feet through the forest. The words echoed through the forest, mixing together with the sound of the bell chums before drifting off into the wind.
"Come here while dancing.
Petals dance in the breeze too
Smiling, smiling and laughing." Jungkook continued to sing in Korean, allowing a ghost of a smile to tug at his lips, but despite the smile, his eyes were lifeless and full of exhaustion.
Jungkook's lips moved on their own- parting and pressing together as the words of the nursery rhyme left his lips. He walked out from between the trees until he was able to see the source of the bells. His head tilted to the side as he analysed the woman sitting on the ground with her leg trapped in a bear trap.
"No, no, no, no." She cried out, allowing tears to roll down her hallow cheeks and her slender fingers to grab the corners of the bear trap. She tried to pry the trap open, to release her leg, only for her fingers to slip and the trap to clamp around her leg tighter than before, "Fuck!" She screamed, throwing her head back in pain.
"The sparrows tweet, tweet, tweet,
Singing while dancing." Jungkook murmured under his breath- his gaze void of emotion and face stoic as he walked towards the woman.
At the sound of his footsteps, the woman turned to look at Jungkook, making her blond locks fall into her face. Her chest rose and fell as she panted, staring up at Jungkook with wide, pleading eyes.
"Please." She choked, pressing a shaky hand against her face before shaking her head and looking down at her bloody leg, "Oh god, please get it off, please!" She cried out- blue eyes turning completely watery, making her vision blur together.
Jungkook stopped next to her, allowing his words to die out on his tongue before allowing the corner of his lips to tilt up. His eyes travelled down to look at the woman's leg and he saw the trap sink into her pale skin until it reached her bone. Blood dripped out of the wound and Jungkook winced as he noticed that her bone was the only thing that kept her leg from falling off.
"That looks bad." Jungkook huffed out a chuckle, running his tongue over his cracked lips before crouching down next to the crying girl. He leaned closer to her leg and eyed it with fascination, "I'm surprised it's not off yet."
"Oh god! Please...no, no, no." The woman whimpered, squeezing her eyes shut and lowering her head so that her chin was touching her chest. Jungkook's heartless words made her shudder and feel on edge, but the situation she was placed in, didn't allow her to have trust issues, "Just...get it off, please get it off." She pleaded, squeezing her eyes shut and digging her nails into her thigh from the ripples of pain running through her body.
Jungkook hummed, tilting his head to the side as he looked up at her. He reached out his hand and placed the tips of his fingers against her cheek before dragging them down her tear covered cheek until he reached the small scar resting on her chin.
"Don't cry." Jungkook whispered, pulling his hand away and wiping the wetness off on his shirt. The woman only shook her head and continued to sob, making Jungkook's eyes roll in a circle, "Don't worry, I'll help you." Jungkook grinned, exposing his bunny smile before pushing off of the ground to stand up.
Jungkook stared at her bloody leg a second longer, allowing his nose to scrunch up at the disgusting sight before tearing his eyes away. He manoeuvred around the woman to stand behind her before collecting her bleached hair and throwing it over her shoulders.
"Thank you, thank you." The woman breathed out, peeling her eyes open to look into Jungkook's doe eyes. After seeing his bunny smile, the woman's lips twitched up into a smile of her own, only for Jungkook to place the palm of his hand on her forehead and tilt her head back, "Wha..what are yo-"
The woman's stuttering was cut off by Jungkook pressing his knife against her throat and slashing her neck open. Blood squirted out of her throat before settling into a steady stream- it rolled down her throat, soaking into her clothes and covering Jungkook's hands red. The woman choked and tried to grab her throat, all while staring into Jungkook's emotionless eyes, only for him to smack her hand away before stepping back.
Jungkook released his hold on her body, allowing her to fall to the ground limply, before manoeuvring around her dying body to crouch down next to the bear trap. While listening to the sound of her choking and shallow breathing, Jungkook opened the trap and reset it, making sure to hide the blood surrounding it.
When Jungkook was done, he stood up and brushed his bloody hands on his shirt, leaving behind another stain. He walked over to the now dead woman, not even bothering to shut her eyes as he grabbed her by her armpits and hoisted her body up into a sitting position.
Just as Jungkook was about to hoist her body onto his shoulders, the sound of another bell filled his ears. Jungkook immediately released his hold on the dead body, allowing it to flop back to the ground before he whirled around on his heel and headed into the direction of the bell.
Like a predator, Jungkook stalked through the forest, ignoring the cold breeze running over his skin and the way his eyes burned from the lack of sleep. His vision was narrowed in on the direction of the bell, not focussing on anything except for the image of Kolten hanging upside down from a tree.
The closer he got, the louder the sound became and the more the hope, in his chest, blossomed, only to be crushed, yet again, when he came across a confusing sight. Jungkook stepped out of the line of trees and looked around with paranoid eyes, not understanding why the net was empty as it swayed from side to side above his head.
"Jun...Jungkook?"
A voice called out- the voice dripping with confusion and concern, making Jungkook tense and slowly turn around. Maggie was laying on the ground a metre away from the net with Taehyung laying on top of her, yet the male's eyes were fully focused on Jungkook, not the female underneath him.
Maggie pushed Taehyung off of herself, but not before uttering a 'thanks' for pushing her out of the way before she got captured in the net. She stood up, dusting off the dirt and leaves from her clothes as she analysed the bunny boy.
Jungkook's hair was messy- strands clumping together and falling into his eyes from the amount of blood and dirt soaked into them. His clothes, or rather scraps, were barely holding onto his muscular body or protecting him from the cold weather. The holes in his clothes displayed the purple bruises on his body, and showed off his sweaty, blood and dirt covered skin. Jungkook's face had splatters of blood on it and small smears of dirt on it. His lips were chapped and eyes were slitted- barely staying open as he swayed on his feet. But the worst thing was the fresh blood dripping down his hands and soaking into his shirt.
Maggie inhaled sharply and swallowed thickly after seeing the state Jungkook was in. The last time she had seen him like this was when he showed up to their farm house, only this time his eyes weren't wide with innocence, but rather with panic and exhaustion.
"Kook, lets go back to the prison. I'm sure you want to eat something, sleep for a little bit and then you can come back out here." Maggie spoke softly, taking a few wary steps towards Jungkook, only for the boy to furrow his brows and shake his head, "Jungkook." Maggie frowned, speaking a little firmer than before.
"You need to leave." Jungkook croaked out, his throat scratchy from the lack of water. The last time he drank something was yesterday, when the thirst was too much and he found a small stream nearby, "I'll be alright." He grumbled, eyes lifting to look up at the net hanging above his head.
Taehyung huffed and pressed his hands against the leaf covered ground before slowly standing up, "Listen, sweetheart, you look like you were tied to a truck and got dragged through all kinds of shit." He brushed his palms against his black jeans and walked towards Jungkook, who scowled and glared up at him, "So shut your mouth and come with us willingly or we will kidnap you."
"Kidnap me?" Jungkook huffed, his brows shooting up and lips tugging into a disbelief filled smile. He pointed his finger at Taehyung, who rose a brow, before looking at Maggie, who smacked her hand against her forehead and shook her head, "Is he serious?"
"I sure am."
"He's not." Maggie grumbled, walking over to the pair before she stopped next to Taehyung. Her gaze was soft and full of worry for the younger boy, yet there was a level of sternness in her eyes, "Jungkook just come rest for a little bit. Everyone's worried about you and we don't want anything to happen to you. Just come home." Maggie pleaded.
Jungkook's eyes flickered between Taehyung's and Maggie's- his heart clenching and dropping into his stomach after hearing her words, only for the images of Kolten's dead body to appear in his mind. Jungkook's gaze dropped down to his bloody hands before he looked up at the net, and he shook his head.
"I can't." He whispered, turning around and walking over to a tree to reset his trap, "You should leave!" He called out without looking at the pair.
"He looks horrible." Maggie muttered under her breath, not tearing her eyes away from Jungkook.
Taehyung pursued his lips and placed his hands on his hips, "I honestly think the whole crazy look kinda suits him." Maggie's head snapped towards him and she stared up at him with disbelief, only for Taehyung to hum and nod as he eyed Jungkook, "He looked pretty hot before, but not gonna lie, seeing him covered in blood makes my insides all tingly." He then turned to smirk and wiggle his eyebrows at Maggie, "You know?"
"No, I don't." She scoffed in return, taking a step away from Taehyung before crossing her arms over her chest and jutting out her hip, "How do we get him home? He's clearly not okay and he needs to rest before heading back out here." Maggie asked, pressing her lips into a thin line as she watched Jungkook sway on his feet and sluggishly reset the net.
"Huh." Taehyung uttered slowly, pressing his tongue against his cheek before allowing his lips to stretch out into a devious smirk, "Don't worry, I got it."
"Wait, what? No, Taehyung!" Maggie hissed, watching as Taehyung waved her off and practically skipped over to Jungkook.
"Jungkookie! Sweetie!" Taehyung sang in his deep face, stopping right behind Jungkook. His lips were stretched out into a boxy smile and his eyes shimmered with mischief, he placed his hands on his hips and peered down at the younger boy.
"What?" Jungkook sneered, allowing a pout to grow on his lips and his shoulders to grow tense as he felt Taehyung hover behind him. When Taehyung didn't say anything, Jungkook released his hold on the rope and whirled around to face him, "What do yo-"
Jungkook was cut off by Taehyung bending down and grabbing him before throwing him over his shoulder. His eyes grew large and hands immediately fisted Taehyung's hoodie, yet his body was grateful as it sucked up Taehyung's warmth and the relief he brought to his muscles by picking him up.
Jungkook didn't even protest or utter a single complain against Taehyung's actions, instead, he slumped against his shoulder and went completely limp. Relief washed over him from finally being off of his feet. His eyes began to slip shut and his hold on Taehyung's hoodie loosened before his hands fell loosely behind Tae's back- swinging back and forth with every step he took. Jungkook was easily pulled into a deep slumber as soon as his body got the opportunity to rest- the lack of sleep and nutrients, and the excessive amount of activity was what made him slip away so easily.
"I got him! I got him!" Taehyung called out with a wide grin, waving his hand around to signal to Maggie, who deadpanned.
Maggie walked over to them, grabbing Taehyung's hoodie and tugging him in the direction of the car before releasing him as they both began to walk, "Shut up." She sighed, pressing her palm against her head and rubbing her skin softly.
Taehyung shrugged, allowing a smirk to replace the grin when she looked away. He shifted his grip on Jungkook's muscular thighs and hoisted his limp body higher onto his shoulder as they walked towards the car. The boy's lack of protesting or movement, made Taehyung pause in his steps before his fingers tightened around Jungkook's thighs and he called out softly.
"Jungkook?"
No response.
Taehyung stopped walking and shut his eyes, listening in on the sound of Jungkook's steady breathing and an occasional snore. Taehyung's eyes shot open and he stood frozen in the middle of the forest, realising that Jungkook had fallen asleep the second he had been picked up.
"Oh gosh, what a baby." Taehyung gushed, cooing softly as he continued to walk after Maggie.

Curling her hand into a fist and delivering a few solid knocks on the wooden door, Kate tapped her foot against the ground and patiently waited for someone to open it. After receiving no response after a few seconds of waiting, she raised her fist again and began to slam her hand against the door.
"Let me in! You called me here!" Kate shouted, annoyed that she was about to have sex with a guy, only for the governor to request her presence. But now that she came to talk, he wasn't opening the goddamn door.
Kate pressed her hands against her face and dragged them down, releasing a loud groan. The door in front of her finally swung open, revealing a smiling governor and the two males sitting on the chairs behind him.
"Hi!" Katelyn chirped, sending a sugary sweet smile their way as she brushed past the governor and entered his office. Her nose scrunched up in disgust and distaste as her eyes connected with the man's sitting in one of the seats, "I thought the trash was taken out yesterday." Kate sneered, peering down at the man like he was a speck of dust beneath her feet.
"Calm down, Katelyn, do I have to remind you what happened a few days ago?" The governor rose a brow, manoeuvring around the office until he reached his leather chair and was able to plop down on it.
"No, no, please, continue." Kolten smirked, revealing his rotten teeth. He raised his hand and kneaded his fingers through his beard as he dragged his eyes down the length of Kate's body, "I quite like girl's with spirit."
Kate huffed out a laugh, sauntering around the room until she leaned against the side of the wooden desk and sent Kolten a nasty smirk, "And I quite like smashing people's faces in, especially if they're men like you."
Katelyn didn't like Kolten the second he used his nasty feet to walk inside Woodbury. It was the way he carried himself and the way he looked at everything around him- like his skin was made out of gold and everything around him was his for the taking. Kate decided to swallow down her hatred and just avoid the Male to avoid any conflicts, but that decision was shattered when Kolten decided to grab her ass, only leading her to punching him in the nose so hard, that she broke his already crooked nose.
"Oh, big girl, come here and punch me then." Kolten taunted, tilting his head to the side and shutting his eyes as he exposed his cheek to Katelyn. His nose was still puffed up and bruised, but now it had been bandaged and was hidden by a white plaster.
Katelyn's smirk crumbled before she pushed off of the desk and cracked her knuckles, smirking as her eyes zeroed in on his cheek, "How naive of you to think it's only gonna be one punch." She murmured under her breath, taking a threatening step towards Kolten, only for a chilling voice to call out.
"Sit down."
Katelyn's eyes trailed over to the governor, who was leaning into his chair and staring into Kate's eyes coldly. He gestured for her to take a step back before his smile returned, "I called you here for a reason."
Katelyn clenched her jaw, sparing another glance towards a smirking Kolten before reluctantly moving away to her previous place, "I'm not working with him." She stated firmly, crossing her arms over her chest and looking down at her sneaker to prevent herself from getting riled up.
Governor ignored her and rolled his chair closer to the desk, placing his hands on the desk and smiling at the two males sitting in front of him, "I've been sending my people out for the past few days and they've been magically vanishing somewhere. I want you to go out and see if it's Rick, and if it's not, then pretend that it's Rick." The governor shrugged carelessly, curling his fingers around his glass of whiskey before bringing it up to his lips and taking a sip.
"I can go out alone, I'm not going with them." Katelyn spat in distaste, allowing her eyes to flicker from Kolten to the quieter guy- Sean, who hadn't said anything or even shifted in his seat. Katelyn would think he's just a corpse if it wasn't for his head occasionally lifting to look up at his surroundings.
"You're not." The governor licked his lips, placing his glass back on the table. The pair made eye contact- Katelyn trying to tell him that she won't go out with these people, while the governor tried to show her that she didn't really have a choice, "Okay." The governor nodded slowly, not breaking eye contact with a glaring Kate as he spoke through a smile, "Kolten stays here, you're gonna go with Sean and two others. You're going to go out at night, use the cover of the darkness, and maybe even the possibility of our killer sleeping, to your advantage." The governor stood up from his seat, adjusting his clothes as he walked over to the door and opened it.
Kate's face scrunched up in distaste as she gazed down at a grinning Kolten and an emotionless Sean before looking back up at the governor, "But-"
"I compromised." The older male shrugged, nodding his head towards the door with a sugary smile, "You'll leave at night, now I invite you to enjoy the pleasures this community can bring you."
"Oh, i sure will." Kolten pushed off of the seat, smirking and eyeing Kate as he slowly walked towards the door. He stopped next to the governor and patted him on the shoulder without breaking eye contact, "Thanks for letting us in, we're gonna contribute to this community as best as we can." Kolten's lips stretched out into a predatory grin before he whistled and brushed past the governor, followed by Sean, who's face was eerily calm.
"This is bullshit." Kate hissed, storming towards the door before stopping right next to it. She scoffed as she gazed up at the governor- her gaze burning with the flames of hatred, "We shouldn't have allowed them inside, I can't believe you trust people like them."
"People like them?" The governor laughed, throwing his head back before looking back down at Kate with amusement filled eyes, "Katelyn, you seem to be forgetting something.." The governor's sweet smile turned dark and sinister and the hospitality in his eyes twisted into a look of malice. Katelyn's glare faltered as he leaned down towards her and hissed into her ear, "You're just like them."
