Masochist
Jungkook had no idea how to drive a car, the closest he had ever come to driving one, was when he was 15. All of his friends used to tell him about how they were learning to drive a car and how they had driven around the city of Busan, while Jungkook had never sat in front of a wheel.
The desire to boast and fit in, led Jungkook to sitting in the driver's seat of his father's car, in order to take a picture of his hand on the wheel and post it on Instagram. After the quick snap of a photo, Jungkook shot out of the seat- afraid that he would press something he shouldn't, and that the car would begin to roll forward and crash into a wall.
Maybe Jungkook should've asked his father or mother to teach him how to drive the vehicle, so that he wouldn't have to worry about crashing the red car he was currently driving. His body was tense and hands didn't move away from the wheel as he gripped it tightly. His foot stayed glued on the gas pedal- sometimes pressing a bit too hard down, causing the car to launch forward and nearly crash into an abandoned car on the side of the road.
Jungkook's eyes were wide and his lower lip was captured between his teeth as he stared out of the front window. He could see the prison, and its fence, up ahead, making Jungkook's lips spread out into a wide grin and his foot press harder down on the gas pedal. The car shook and bounced as it rolled over small holes and large rocks in the dirt road. Jungkook parted his lips and released a deep noise, giggling, as his voice shook and changed its tone.
The red car whooshed past the front gate of the prison and drove into the field. Jungkook's smile crumbled as he gripped the wheel tighter and tried to stay on the narrow road leading up to the courtyard. The walkers in the field turned their attention on Jungkook- being drawn to the rumbling sound coming from the vehicle. Jungkook's already wide eyes grew even larger and his mouth tugged up into a mischievous smile as he saw a walker stumble into the road.
"Move!" Jungkook shouted, pressing his hand against the wheel and honking the horn, only to cause the walker to turn towards him and stumble right towards the car. Jungkook shrugged, acting like it wasn't his plan as he sped up even more and hit the walker. Loud thuds filled the air around Jungkook as the walker rolled over the car before falling off of it, "I told you to move!" Jungkook shouted through his smile, peering into the review mirror to watch the walker shift on the ground before standing up.
Jungkook's eyes snapped over to the front window, only to scream and slam his foot down on the brakes at the sight of the courtyard's gate a mere metre in front of him. The car screeched to a halt, causing Jungkook to fly forward in his seat, only for the buckle to freeze and stop him from lurching out of the front window. Jungkook slammed back into his seat and gripped the wheel tightly as he blinked at the gate in front of him.
The red car began to slowly roll backwards, causing Jungkook to gasp and quickly unbuckle himself. Jungkook threw the door open and jumped out of the rolling car- falling onto his side and rolling around a few times for the dramatic effect before finally sitting up. Jungkook glanced over his shoulder and froze as he watched the red car roll down the hill and hit the walkers in its path, before finally reaching the bottom of the hill and getting stuck in a few holes.
Jungkook looked around and noticed that some walkers were slowly heading towards him, so he pushed off of the ground and dusted off his wool sweater. Pain rippled through his body as he accidentally pressed down on his bloody wound, making him hiss and wince. Jungkook huffed and whirled around on his heel to march over to the gate, only to freeze once he saw Maggie standing on the other side of the gate.
Jungkook's smile crumbled and he gulped, noticing Maggie's squinted eyes and the heavy scowl on her face, "Hi?" Jungkook released a nervous chuckle, pressing his bloody hand against the nape of his neck as he watched Maggie glare and cross her arms over her chest, "Well, shît." Jungkook breathed out, pouting as he dragged his feet over to Maggie, ready to get scolded by her.

A muffled hiss left Jungkook's lips- the noise being muffled by the piece of rag shoved between his teeth. Jungkook's face was scrunched up into a grimace and tears gathered in the corners of his eyes as he felt the needle pierce his skin again before the thread got pulled through it. Jungkook squeezed his eyes shut and whined behind the rag, wincing at the white searing pain running through his side.
"Just a bit longer." Hershel murmured softly, tying the thread and cutting it off. He gathered his medical kit and placed a bandage on Jungkook's newly acquired stitches before nodding and looking up at the boy, "You're good to go, but I do suggest you take it easier, Jungkook. The human body may be incredible and it can endure quite a lot, but it doesn't mean it has to."
Jungkook peeled his eyes open and released his rolled up sweater, allowing it to fall over his stomach and cover the stitches. He grabbed the saliva soaked rag and pulled it out of his mouth before licking his lips and looking up at Maggie, "Uhm, thank you, Hershel." Jungkook muttered softly, cringing when Maggie turned away from him and didn't even spare him a glance, instead, she continued to check the ammo in their guns.
Hershel noticed the crestfallen look on Jungkook's face and patted him on his thigh, "Talk to her, otherwise she'll go a whole week without sparing you a glance." Hershel advised, grabbing his crutches and standing up from the metal chair, "And head to your cell afterwards, I don't want to see you down here until tomorrow."
"What's tomorrow?" Jungkook furrowed his brows, hopping off of the table and clutching his side as a pang of pain shot through him. He shook off the pain and straightened out, not looking away from Hershel.
The older man placed the medical kit under his armpit and began to hop away, "Andrea arranged a meeting between Rick and the governor!" Hershel called out over his shoulder before disappearing into the cell block.
Jungkook's brows furrowed and eyes widened at Hershel said. He didn't think going to a meeting would do anything good, except endanger their lives. But maybe Rick had a plan to execute the governor in the middle of this meeting, so that the war would be stopped. If that's the case, then Jungkook would gladly participate in it.
Jungkook shook his head and turned around to look at Maggie. He sucked in a deep breath and began to approach her- fiddling with his fingers and chewing on his bottom lip, "Maggie?" Kook gulped, stopping behind her and staring down at her back, only for Maggie to ignore him and continue checking the ammo. Jungkook pouted and raised his hand, tapping his finger on her shoulder to gain her attention, "Maggie, Maggie, Maggie, Maggie." Jungkook repeated, spending a minute of singing Maggie's name and tapping her on the shoulder until the female had enough.
"Jesus Christ, there's really no way of giving you silent treatment, is there?" Maggie grumbled before whirling around on her heel and facing a pouting Jungkook, "Yes?" She arched a brow, crossing her arms over her chest and jutting out her hip.
Jungkook placed his hands behind his back and swaying on his feet as he looked down at his sneakers, "I'm sorry?" He uttered lowly, not knowing what he had to say or why he had to be sorry. But sorry usually worked, especially if you acted cute and sad- his mother always forgave him and made him Samgyeopsal after the apology, and they never spoke about the problem again.
Maggie furrowed her brows and pursued her lips, humming as she eyed Jungkook's expression and observed his confusion laced words, "What are you sorry for though?"
Jungkook's eyes shot up and he looked startled at Maggie's question. A bright red dust appeared on his neck and travelled all the way up to his ears before he released a nervous laugh and shifted his weight from foot to foot.
"For...for...not eat- for leaving..." Jungkook started, changing his words as he observed Maggie's facial expression and slowly adapted to them, "...leaving without...te..telling anyone. Yes! I'm sorry for leaving without telling anyone!" Jungkook perked up, grinning widely until his eyes squinted shut and his nose crinkled.
Maggie nodded slowly, pressing her lips together to stop herself from smiling- because who wouldn't smile when seeing Jungkook be so adorable?
"Right," Maggie dragged out, dropping her hands to her sides, "And..." She trailed off, waiting for Jungkook to finish for her.
Jungkook's eyes flew open and he blinked down at Maggie in confusion, "Theres an 'and'?" He breathed out under his breath, forcing a smile to appear on his lips as he fiddled with his sleeves and began to stutter, "Right, right...and..I'm sor-"
"You're torturing him, leave him alone and let him rest." A deep chuckle echoed through the room, mixing together with a soft sucking sound. Jungkook and Maggie turned their heads into the direction of the voice and they watched as Taehyung walked across the room with Judith in his arms.
"Oh, shut up. You're the reason he went out in the first place." Maggie huffed, manoeuvring around the table to go grab Judith's baby formula.
Taehyung's brows shot up and he gasped dramatically, bouncing Judith softly as the little girl suckled on her pacifier, "What was I supposed to do? Grab him by his hair and drag him back inside?" Taehyung scoffed with an eye roll, turning his eyes towards a silent Jungkook. Taehyung's brows knitted together before his face lit up with a smirk as he stared down at the wool sweater wrapped around Jungkook's body, "Now I see where my new sweater went. Not only you're a masochist, but you're a sweater stealer too."
Maggie choked on her spit before spinning around to glare at Taehyung, "Dont taint him." She hissed lowly, marching towards a smirking Taehyung and shoving the baby bottle into his chest.
"Masochist?" Jungkook mumbled through a pout. He blinked and looked between a glaring Maggie and a smirking Taehyung with confusion, "Why would I be a masochist? Isn't it someone who loves pain?" He repeated after receiving no reply.
Maggie's eyes narrowed even more on Taehyung as she gritted, "Dont you dare."
"You are correct, little sweater thief." Taehyung winked at Jungkook, making the younger pout and look away, "Judging by all of your wounds and desire to get yourself in trouble, I presume that you're a masochist." Taehyung purred, not looking away from Jungkook as rocked Judith.
Jungkook rolled his eyes and coughed awkwardly, not knowing how to respond to Taehyung, so he chose to just change the entire topic instead, "Is...is this yours?" Jungkook questioned, grabbing his wool sweater and holding it out for Taehyung to see. Jungkook captured his bottom lip between his teeth and shuffled on his feet awkwardly as he saw Taehyung nod, "Great." He grumbled, scrunching up his face and brushing his hands against the sweater, "We'll it's torn and bloody." Jungkook commented, waiting for Taehyung to get irritated at the revelation.
Taehyung huffed out a husky laugh and looked down at Judith- placing the tip of the bottle between her lips and watching her as she suckled on it. Taehyung smiled and looked up at Jungkook, "That's why needles exist, and you can wash the blood out." Taehyung shrugged, completely indifferent to the situation.
Jungkook frowned before huffing and glancing at Maggie, only to see the girl smirking down at the gun in her hands, instead of looking at the two, "Well...well.." Jungkook stuttered, wanting to make Taehyung angry or frustrated. He had only seen the older look annoyed at something once, so he wanted to test out his limits and see him snap completely, "Well I lost your stupid knife!" Jungkook growled, curling his hands into fists and stomping his foot against the ground.
As soon as the words left his lips, Jungkook's eyes grew large and his hands flew up to his mouth. His eyes stayed glued on Taehyung as the Male slowly looked up at him- his expression eerily calm, "I mean...I-"
"No, no, continue." Taehyung turned around to fully face him and nodded for Jungkook to continue talking. His eyes didn't give anything away and his face remained stoic as he stared down at Jungkook with an arched brow.
Jungkook gulped and quickly turned around to walk to his cell, "I'll go take a nap." He mumbled under his breath, not looking at Taehyung as he walked past him.
"Yes, you do that." Taehyung nodded, looking over his shoulder at Jungkook and smiling to himself at the scared look on Kook's face. Taehyung shook his head and looked back at Maggie, who stared back at him with a suggestive smirk, "Can I help you?" Tae asked, looking down at Judith and pulling away the empty bottle. The little girl released a yawn and blinked up at Taehyung as he placed her pacifier back in her mouth.
"Nothing." Maggie shrugged, shutting the gun in her hand and dropping it down on the table before grabbing the next one.
Taehyung hummed and eyed her before turning around and walking towards the cells to put Judith to sleep.

Muffled voices came through the white door at the end of the halfway. The walls of the hallway were painted a chocolate brown colour, nearly dancing along the lines of black, and paintings of empty fields and sunrises, were hanging on the chocolate coloured walls. A single table was pushed against the wall, and in the middle of two doors, and on top of it rested a vase with bright yellow daffodils.
The muffled voices, coming from the white door, mixed together with a quiet clinking sound as a man marched down the hallway- not allowing his eyes to stray from the white door at the end of it. The tall man reached the white door and stretched out his hand to grab the door handle and twist it to the side. The door cracked open, making the voices clear up.
"-uggest you stay here tomorrow and get some rest." Milton, the scientist in Woodbury, instructed the blonde girl, sitting on the hospital bed. His head turned to the sound of the door opening and he pushed his glasses further up his nose as he stared back at the governor.
The governor's eyes snapped over to Katelyn- analysing her before stepping into the room and slamming the door shut behind himself. Katelyn's hair was released from her ponytail, allowing it to surround her in a blanket of thick curls. Her face remained blank and eyes were hazy as she grabbed her shirt with her right hand and slowly slid it over her head, making sure to not injure her shoulder even more.
"What happened?" The governor questioned, clenching his jaw and glaring down at the younger girl, who ignored him.
Kate's gaze remained glued on the tiled floor as she slouched against the hospital bed and laid her hands limply across her lap. Her mind was plagued with memories, conspiracies and ideas, while her emotions were clashing and mixing together, not allowing her to feel one emotion before it was replaced by another.
"I'll repeat myself." The Governor spoke calmly, stepping closer to Katelyn and placing his hands on his hips, "What happened?" He inquired firmly, pressing his tongue against his cheek to mask his annoyance.
Katelyn swallowed down the lump in her throat before slowly looking up at the governor. Her hair fell into her face- shielding her hostile glare and clenched jaw, "We were attacked by someone. Sean, Sebastian and Matthew are all dead, and I found the rest of your lost men."
The governor furrowed his brows and looked back at Milton, who shrugged in confusion, "There were four of you, how did one person kill 3 of my men and injured you too?" The Governor spat in disbelief.
Katelyn rolled her eyes and brushed her hair behind her ears, so that she could see him better. She inhaled sharply and pulled her legs up on the bed- sitting crisscross, "The forest was full of set up traps. They were there to injure us and slow us down, maybe even tell him where we were at the time, so that he could kill us." Katelyn informed the two, glancing between them and carefully observing their reactions. Katelyn knew that whatever she said at the moment, or how she acted, would be crucial in the next few days.
The governor nodded and turned around to look out of the window of the infirmary, "And where is this person now?" He asked Katelyn, brushing the curtain away and eyeing the innocent civilians wondering through the streets of Woodbury.
Katelyn tensed up and kept her lips firmly pressed together. Her eyes squinted into a glare as she stared at the governor's back before shaking her head and pushing away the hostility in her eyes. Katelyn looked down at her fingers and pulled the sleeves of her shirt over her hands. She squeezed her eyes shut and held her breath before swallowing thickly and breathing out something that could possibly get her killed,
"I killed him."
The governor spun around the face her before marching towards her and grabbing her by her chin. Katelyn gasped as her head was pulled up to look into the governor's blue eyes, "So you're telling me that three of my men died, you got injured, and you magically killed the guy?" The Governor released a mocking laugh and released Katelyn's chin harshly, making the girl flinch and glare down at the ground.
"I made the group split up, that's why it was so easy for him to kill them." Katelyn gritted, revealing the crucial choice she had made, that cost the lives of her team. The governor's expression became eerily calm at her revelation, only for Kate to quickly continue speaking, "He killed Matthew with the help of one of his traps, then he slit Sebastian's throat. He was able to do that because we were separated. Sean and I ran into another one of his traps and it alerted him of our location, so he headed towards us. We were fighting him and...and when the crazy dude was killing Sean, I jumped on him and slit his throat." The lies fell past Katelyn's lips like a smooth exhale. She didn't break eye contact with the governor and even allowed a smug smile to tug at her lips as she uttered the lies.
The governor's eyes didn't leave Katelyn's face as he observed her with a calm expression. The tension between them grew, nearly making them suffocate, only for the Governor's face to split up into a smile.
"You sure you killed him? Maybe he had a group that could save him, or the cut wasn't that deep." The Governor spoke through his grin, not looking away from Katelyn as the girl's smirk widened and she giggled.
"Oh, I'm sure." Katelyn purred, throwing her legs over the bed and hopping off of it to stand in front of the Governor, "No one survives a bullet to the head." She sent the governor a wink, making the older man laugh.
"That's my girl." The Governor placed his hand on Katelyn's uninjured shoulder and massaged the place there as he leaned down and whispered to her, "And ignore the three dead guys, there's always casualties in war."
"Right." Katelyn muttered, inhaling a lungful of The Governor's musky scent.
The older man pulled away and allowed his hand to drop to his side as he looked between Milton and Katelyn, "But for the idiotic move you made, you won't be coming with me to the meeting I have with Rick. I'll take Martinez instead." The governor called out to them as he turned around and walked out of the room, slamming the door shut behind himself.
A breath of relief left Katelyn's lips before she looked away from the white door to look at Milton. The Male was sitting at his desk tensely, not looking at Katelyn as he scribbled something into his notebook. Katelyn released a sigh through her nose and walked over to the bed to grab her stuff. Her eyes fell on the bloody throwing knife Jungkook stabbed into her shoulder, and she quickly grabbed it before shoving it into her backpack.
Katelyn knew what she had to do, she just hoped it would work.

The prison group spent their day preparing for Rick's and The Governor's meeting- deciding who would go with the leader and what to do, if it was a trap to lure them in and kill them all. The group had prepared for all scenarios, but it doesn't mean they were any less tense or anxious about the meeting.
After spending the entire day feeling pure stress and anxiety, the group headed off to their cells to fall into deep slumbers- leaving the prison dark and eerily silent. An occasional snore, or a crack, was the only thing you could hear as the moonlight shone through the windows and fell into the cells.
Everything seemed peaceful, but as you looked closer, you'd notice that in one of the cells, serenity was the last thing one of the group members felt at the moment. Whimpers and barely audible cries left Taehyung's lips as he trashed around in his bed. His eyes were squeezed shut and face was scrunched up into a grimace as he rolled around the bed and held onto the blanket wrapped around him. His hair clung to his sweaty forehead and patches of sweat appeared on the area on his chest. Shallow pants left Taehyung's lips before his eyes flew open and he shot up in the bed.
Taehyung's mind was still halfway inside his dream- allowing it to torment him for a while longer before he snapped out of it with a sharp cry. Taehyung's chest felt heavy and his head was pounding as he blinked at the darkness around him, trying to understand where he was or what was happening. The darkness and lack of noise, was enough for Taehyung to feel like he was suffocating inside his own pool of loneliness and panic.
Taehyung's mind was plagued with the only monster he had known as he threw his blanket away from himself and felt around the bed- trying to figure out what was happening and where he was. But his panic and fear increased as his sensitive fingers slid over the scratchy mattress of the bunk bed. Taehyung didn't even realise what he was doing as he grabbed onto the metal ladder, leading onto the top bunk, and slowly climbed down.
He felt like he was watching himself from the corner of the room, yet experiencing everything so vividly. The sound of his own heartbeat and his shallow breathing was enough to drive Taehyung crazy, especially if every little noise, or thing he felt, was enhanced. His hands trembled and leg slipped as he climbed down the ladder, making him fall off and hit the ground with a thud.
The loud noise, caused Jungkook's eyes to flutter open before he sat up in his bed. The bunny boy was confused as he yawned and looked around, rubbing his eyes with his fists as he listened to the sound of shallow pants and soft whimpers. Jungkook froze in his place and slowly turned his head around to look down at the dark lump slumped against the ground.
"Tae..Taehyung?" Jungkook called out warily, staring at the shaking, panting lump for a few more seconds before shooting out of his bed and crouching down next to it, "Tae?" Jungkook whispered into the darkness, not understanding what was happening as he placed his hand on Taehyung's shoulder, only for the Male to flinch and jump away from him.
The sudden touch had pulled Taehyung even deeper into his memories and worst fears, making him believe that the monster he once called his brother, had returned for him. Raw fear wrapped around Taehyung as he pushed himself into the corner of the room and curled into himself- trying to suppress his soft sobs to make himself appear smaller and completely invisible.
Jungkook was confused and startled by Taehyung's actions, but his erratic breathing and reaction was enough for Jungkook to jump up to his feet and dash out of the cell, "Hershel! Hershel! Come, it's taehyung, something's wrong!" Jungkook shouted throughout the prison, not caring that he woke everyone up. All he cared about was that Hershel would get to Taehyung and see what was wrong before the older hurt himself.
Jungkook continued to scream for Hershel as he ran down the steps to the first floor. As he screeched to a halt in front of Hershel's cell, the older man was already hopping out of it with swollen eyes.
"What is it?" Hershel asked in a gruff voice, blinking away his sleep and releasing a yawn as he stared down at Jungkook.
"It's Taehyung! Something's wrong with him!" Jungkook shouted, bouncing on his feet anxiously and shoving his finger into the direction of their cell.
Hershel didn't question anything else and immediately hopped over to the stairs and began to climb them. Jungkook followed after Hershel, ignoring the rest of the group members, who had woken up and were peeking out of their cells in confusion. They threw a few questions at the two, but after being ignored, they fell silent and only watched.
Hershel entered Taekook's cell and immediately told Jungkook to turn on the candle. Jungkook followed Hershel's order and lit the candle with shaking hands before pushing the flame into Taehyung's direction.
Taehyung had pushed himself into the corner of the room- his legs were pulled up to his chest and arms were wrapped around them. Taehyung continued to sit motionlessly in the corner of the room- his posture so tense that Jungkook thought his muscles would get strained. Shivers and chocked sobs racked through his body, and his chest rose and fell as harsh pants left his lips- barely allowing him to breathe.
"Taehyung, it's me- Hershel." Hershel spoke softly, immediately recognising the signs of a panic attack as he stepped closer to the trembling boy and crouched down in front of him. Taehyung's face lifted from his knees, revealing his tear stained cheeks and hazy, bloodshot eyes. Fear was the only thing that registered in Taehyung's mind as he pushed himself further into the wall behind him and pulled his clothes closer to his body, trying to shield any exposed skin he was displaying.
Jungkook was confused and slightly scared as he watched Taehyung's confident, charismatic persona crumble and reveal his dark and vulnerable side. He didn't understand what was happening or why it was happening, but this was the last thing he had ever expected, or wanted, to see. Jungkook felt bad for treating Taehyung with such harshness, when the Male was nothing, but kind, towards him. He wished he would've realised that maybe the confident facade Taehyung put on, wasn't him, but rather a defence mechanism against potential emotional pain. But now, Jungkook knew and he promised himself to treat Taehyung like he treated all his other family members.
Two frantic pairs of footsteps filled the air, making Taehyung whimper and squeeze his eyes shut, and Jungkook look back at the doorway of the cell. Rick barged into the room with Michonne following behind him, their expressions danced between the lines of confused and concerned. Their eyes fell past Jungkook and Hershel, and onto Taehyung before growing comically wide.
"What happened?" Rick questioned, stepping forward and looking between a startled Jungkook and a crying Taehyung.
"I...I don't..know." Jungkook breathed out, wrapping his arms around his waist for comfort. The sound of Taehyung's deep, pain filled cries and shallow pants, made him feel incredibly uncomfortable and sad. He wanted to do nothing more than to stop Taehyung's pain and take it upon himself, if it meant that Taehyung wouldn't have to go through it alone.
Michonne brushed past them all, ignoring what Hershel or Rick tried to tell her, and, instead, she dropped down to the ground next to Taehyung. Michonne leaned in and began to whisper something to Taehyung, and like magic, his cries subdued and he began to try and inhale deeper breaths. Taehyung squeezed his eyes shut and focused on Michonne as the older woman gently pulled him down and laid his head into her lap. She brushed her fingers through Taehyung's sweaty hair and occasionally brushed her finger over the length of Taehyung's nose as she continued to utter reassurances into his ear.
Jungkook was mesmerised and frozen in shock as he observed the sight in front of him- subconsciously storing it into the back of his mind in case he needed to use this one day.
"Jungkook, it's best if you and Rick leave the room. Having too many people in such a small space may make him more anxious and could make him feel claustrophobic." Hershel whispered softly, looking over his shoulder to glance between Rick and Jungkook.
"But...but.." Jungkook stuttered, looking conflicted and crestfallen as he gestured towards Taehyung.
Rick sighed and wrapped his arm around Kook's shoulders before turning him around and guiding him outside the prison, "He'll be okay, he just needs space and time."
Jungkook didn't respond to Rick and turned his head around to take another peek at Taehyung. The latter was laying in Michonne's lap, his eyes were shut and body was curled into a small ball as Michonne ran her hand through his hair. Tears continued to roll down Taehyung's cheeks and his face was still scrunched up in pain and discomfort. An occasional shiver ran through him as he sniffled and tried to control his erratic breathing. Hershel stayed a bit further away from Taehyung, but still leaned in and muttered something to him, making the older nod and squeeze his eyes shut even tighter. Jungkook tried to take in as much as he could, only for Rick to guide him out of the cell and for his view to be cut off.
