Late night visitor

Hey, I hope you enjoy reading my Moicy Fanfiction, english is not my first language so I'm sorry if you still find any mistakes (I tried to correct everything) <3

(This is kind of a collab with @/ marcepanowa (Twitter), because she had the idea of this AU and told me all the details.)

It was a foggy night in Switzerland as Moira arrived with an aircraft in a town close to Zürich. The lights of the city seemed blurry and the air was clear but moist. Talon has sent her out on a new mission, during which she had to support a few agents in kidnapping an important target. She trusted them and their extensive combat experience, but just in case something went wrong, she could support them. The aircraft landed close to the marked building, with almost not making any noise. Only a bit of dust swirled up under the glowing engines. It was a fancy hotel in a posh district near the city border. They disembarked and quickly moved towards a hidden 'staff only' entrance. At this time of day the staff all should be asleep or home. Moira followed her team without talking much, hoping that they can end this mission quickly. She secretly despised the assignments Talon sends her out to, because she just wanted to stay in her lab, continuing all the experiments she had planned to do. There was so much to do, but she had to be out here again. The squad entered the hotel quickly and without notice and it seemed almost perfect. Sombra had hacked their security cameras from the headquarters. She was lucky. She could stay home. Moiras lips curled annoyed as she thought about that, while watching the agents broke down the door of the targets room in silence.

Suddenly she realized, that there was no further security. She turned around to investigate the hallway, but it was empty. The target should have had more security, where werethey? Something was wrong, she had to tell the others via holo. The moment the door clicked open, she noticed a fast shadow in her peripheral and the first men falling. She faded away out of reflex, but the millisecond she could get away the attacker hit her in the waist. She jumped behind a corner, down the first staircase and tried not to growl in pain. The attacker was so fast, she couldn't see them right. "It must be an assassin! The target must have hired them as a bodyguard. That's why there was no further security." She gathered herself while watching her whole team die. She tried the holo again, but the channel was dead, because someone must have been disrupting their signal. The sharp pain in her waist growed stronger and she had to support her waist. She could feel how warm blood was running out of the wound. Her instincts screamed to leave this hotel and hide. Talon will shurely get her.

She sneaked out as fast as she could, hiding a few streets away in a dark alley. She pressed her hands on the wound trying to heal herself. She felt better for a few seconds and took her hands off to check how bad it was. It was a deep cut, almost deadly. The attacker seemed to have used a knife or something. She growled. It really hurt and the blood loss could get dangerous if she will not receive more medical treatment soon. Her healing wasn't helping much so she sended another distress signal to Talon. Why were they taking so long? They must have noticed that something went wrong?! She pressed her hands on the wound again but with more pressure, as she started to feel a little dizzy. "If they don't come, I will die here." she thought and tried to suppress the upcoming panic. She sat down on the cobblestone street and took off her backpack. She loosed some buckles and disconnected her hand technology by pulling out the tubes. She needed to stop her bleeding in any possible way or the situation would become critical very fast. She poured the nanobiological healing over her wound. Angela really was a genius for inventing these.

Her brain snapped. Angela! She lives here! She could help! Since Moiras days with Overwatch she had spent a lot of time in the Swiss Overwatch Headquarter, talking with Angela about many things. They were lovers back then and spent every possible moment in their busy work life together. But she got suspended because of the illegal Blackwatch activities and needed to leave immediately. She still felt insanely stupid that she could never say Angela goodbye or tell her where she went.

Moira smiled sad. She still knew where Angela lived or at least where she had been living in the past. They hadn't talked in 7 years so she couldnt be sure that she lived there anymore, but it was her only chance for survival. Moira stood up as good as she could and walked as fast as possible to the address. Luckily it wasn't far away. The way was difficult. She felt how her strength faded with every drop of blood. Her clothes and armor started to soak in the running blood, everything felt hot and cold at the same time and the pain in her waist grew with every step. Moira had seen much in her career, but this was the first time she panicked in fear of true death. She dragged herself through the empty streets almost praying Angela hadn't moved away. When she finally arrived, her vision was blurry and she felt like falling over any second. Moira dragged herself up the stairs, her pure will keeping her conscious. She pressed the doorbell and her hands were shaking as she leaned herself against the wall, leaving blood on it. Every second felt like a full hour. Finally someone opened. Blond, messy hair... Moira felt her body giving up, her vision fading black. She smiled weak, made a shaky step forward and reached out for the woman. "P-Please, Angel-" she couldn't finish her words and fainted on the spot.

Angela was very surprised by her late night visitor and stared at Moira like she had seen a ghost. She just had a little freetime from her busy Overwatch duties and was sitting on the couch with her favorite tea, finally reading the book she hadn't had the time to read for months. Her brain couldn't process the whole situation, she was in shock. Moiras body hit the floor at her feet with a numb sound. "You're back..." she talked to herself, her voice and hands suddenly vibrating. She felt all the painful feelings from the past years just rise up within seconds. All the pain and lovesickness she had over this stupid woman. She felt like she couldn't breathe right for a moment and leaned herself against her now bloodstained wall. Angela felt like someone stabbed her chest and just shook her head in disbelief. She never thought she would see Moira ever again.

The blood all over Moira was so obvious, Angela understood in seconds what she had to do. She pulled the tall woman in, closed the door and brought her into the stable lateral position. Angela kneeled down close to her and investigated the wound on Moiras body. She noticed a small logo on Moiras broken suit. Talon? Angela gasped and fell back in surprise. Her heart jumped and she felt like someone stabbed a second knife through her throat. This must be a mistake! Moira was with them...? Angela despised Talon almost as much as Null Sector. Everything that they did was instilling terror and spreading chaos. Anger rised in her and she cursed. "Moira you dumb bitch, how could you betray me that bad?" Tears run down her face and she broke down for a little moment.

No! She had to pull herself together! She was way better than Moira. She wouldn't let anyone die. She was proud of her morals and values. SHE was helping people, even the bad ones! She wiped away her tears and felt Moiras pulse, she was still alive. Moira had always been very tough, but she also probably did something to herself to increase her survivability. Angela ran to her office to get some provisional medic stuff she kept at home. Angela removed the broken armor Moira was still wearing and stitched the huge cut with a needle and applied a lot of desinfectional fluid. She sighed worried and thought that this wouldnt be enough. She needed to bring Moira into her lab for further medical treatment. She was angry, all her feelings played crazy at the moment.

Overwatch will capture Moira immediately when she wakes up, but Mercy was so agitated, she thought Moira might even deserve it. But maybe she could fix her up in secret? At least for a while until Moira will get a little better. She thought of possible side entrances, grabed her keys and lifted Moira up as good as she could. They rushed in her car and Mercy carefully placed Moira on the passenger's seat. She sprinted back to the driver's seat and started the engine. She really needed to hurry to arrive as fast as possible at her lab in Overwatch Headquarters.

Various thoughts rushed through her head while driving, but it was against her morals to let anyone die. Not even Moira. But why was she back? What happened to her? And why in all people did she come to her? She was dressed like she was on a mission or something, but where was her team? Did Talon betray her?

Angela parked close to a more hidden and deserted entrance of the headquarters. Luckily nobody was here at this time of the night. She carried Moira to her lab, making very sure nobody was seeing them. Angela layed Moira down on an operation table and undressed her. There was nothing she didn't already know, until she paused and stared at Moiras right arm. It had gotten worse. "What did you do to yourself, Moira?" she whispered and continued while suppressing more distracting emotions.

Angela made herself ready for the operation. She injected narcotics, just in case Moira woke up during her operation. She had lost a lot of blood. Luckily Angela ran a quick test to find out her blood type. She connected Moira with oxygen and gave her blood injections. Itl would take a bit until she was back at a normal blood level. More technical preparations followed until she could begin. Angela first started treating Moiras wound and stitched it again with her professional equipment. She cleaned the wound and injected her nanobiological healing technology. She finished after one and a half hours and brought Moira into a seperate room. Angela fell down on a chair and hid her face in her hands. Another night where she didn't sleep at all. She took a deep breath and renewed the blood bag, after the previous three had already run empty. Moira still needed at least 5 more to get back to normal. If she survives at all. Her heart was still beating, but losing so much blood over long periods of time is pretty damaging for organs.

Angela finally had a moment of peace and looked down at Moira. Her emotions towards this woman were just overwhelming. She was back AND with Talon. Angela still couldnt process that as she buried her face again. "Why?!" she thought. "God dammit, why are you doing this to me again?!" So many thoughts were racing through her head and she suddenly had to think about the things she knew Talon did. Could it be that Moira did a few of these atrocities herself? Angela was stunned by shock and pressed her hands on her mouth. The overwhelming feelings made her stomach cramp and she felt the need to vomit because of the stress. She bowed over and stared at the ground. Gabe... and Amelie... did Moira...? She slowly stood up and ran out of the room. She took the elevator to the roof and leaned on the railing. She watched the sun rise, while smoking a cigarette. She almost never smokes, except in the worst moments of her life and job. She really isn't proud of it, so she normally comes here alone. Back then Moira accompanied her a lot, teasing her that a doctor shouldn't smoke. Angela's gaze flyed over the city. They kissed a lot in this place, because it was theirs. A quiet, magical spot in a very chaotic world. Why did she remember all this now? She went here all the years Moira was gone, but now she recalls everything.

Angela sighed and watched how the stars vanished in the sunlight. Moira is a complicated woman. She always went her way, focusing on her science. Angela appreciated the dedication very much, but not her methodes. Was there any way Moira might change? It seems like an impossible to know question. Angela headed back after 20 minutes and sat close to Moiras bed again. She stared at Moira for quite some time while her thoughts faded away. There was just so much she needed to think about. Suddenly she heard a quiet noise that brought her back to reality. She jumped back on her feet and watched Moira, checking her vitals again. Everything seems to be stabilizing. Moira was very dizzy from the narcose and what just happened to her, but she was indeed waking up. She tried to raise her arm and touch Angelas face while mumbling shreds of sentences. "I love you Angela... I don't deserve you..." Moira suddenly started to cry. Angela tried to calm her down, being a bit perplexed, while taking her arm and telling her to be careful with movement. "I'm sorry for what I did... You deserve so much better... I failed you." she mumbled and sobbed half conscious. Angelas heart raced at Moiras words and she tried to calm the ginger woman down. She has never seen Moira weak like this before. She had always played strong. "Shhh, please save your strength."

All this old emotions, she really thought she coped and healed from after 3 years are blocking her throat again. Her heart was full of chaos and tearing apart. Of course she still loved Moira, she never stopped! She missed her every day after Moira left, but she had thought that she would never see her again. But Moira was with Talon now. Angela was amlomst sure Moira did terrible things there. Of course Talon gave Moira the freedom for her experiments, that was the only thing she really cared about. Angela was so tired and stressed out, she didn't say much and just took Moira's hand. She has never seen Moira cry before, she even considered if this woman was able to do so at all. Crying is healthy, it would be good for her. Angela pressed Moira's hand a bit firmer and looked at her getting more and more conscious again. After 15 minutes Moira stopped crying and just stared at her hand holding Angela's.

They lasted like this for a while until suddenly Angela received a call. The blond woman winced visibly, since the call scared her, because it was bringing her back to reality.

Angela picked up and talked to someone from Overwatch, they needed her for an upcoming meeting. Her face was worried as she hung up. Moira looked at her, trying to remember everything that happened yesterday while admiring Angela's beauty. It was incredible that she stood right in front of her now. She looked stunning, of course they both aged but they still are themselves after all. Moira liked her new haircut, it suited her so well. Angela turned back to Moira and sat down beside her bed. "What happened yesterday? Please tell me Moira."

Moira tried to clear up her memories and thought for a long moment. "I was on a mission but we ran into a trap. They were prepared, my whole team died. I got injured and flew from the location. I was bleeding very heavy, somehow even my own healing wasn't enough. I thought Talon would pick me up..." she paused and looked down, "...but they didn't. I knew I was dying and you were the only person around I trusted, so I dragged myself to your flat." Both women stayed silent for a time. Angela was the first one to break it "I'm sorry your team died and that they left you alone. But I must admit, I'm not surprised. Talon uses their people like marionettes and throws them away when they're not useful anymore." Moira huffed at Angela's words "I thought they needed me and my science..." Angela just looked at her with a sad face and pressed her hand again. Moira turned back to Angela and smiled sadly. "At least you were there for me. Thank you so much for saving me. I'm so sorry for what I did, my behavior was more than unfair."

Angela nodded visibly hurt, she struggled to stay professional. "Please explain to me what happened back then. You owe me that." Moira agreed and started explaining. "You remember the Venice mission where the world first knew Blackwatch existed? We failed this one really bad and I got suspended only a few days after. They told me to leave on the spot and I did without telling anyone. Not even you. I went to Oasis, because they had interest in my science and continued my research there. After a few months Talon requested me to join them after discovering what I am capable of. They made a really good offer, so I worked for them in secret for a while, until switching completely from Oasis to them. I was there mainly to do my science, but I needed to go on missions for them too. I actually hated that part." Angelas gaze was still hurt as she looked down on their hands. "You really hurt me Moira. You just threw away what we had because of your own interests. You betrayed me with joining Talon." "I'm really sorry Angela. I know you might not believe me, but I missed you every single day. I regret nothing more than just leaving you." Angela pulled back her hand and hid her face again. This was too much for her right now. She was extremely tired and couldn't think straight anymore. She really hated and loved Moira at the same time, so she just stood up and walked to the door. She needed space and time to sleep and think. She looked back at Moira one more time. Her face actually seemed begging and hurt. "You're beautiful Angela." Moira said to her as she left and Angela couldn't resist smiling and blushing a bit at her words.

This was the first time Angela actually took a day off by herself, she had this really bad habit to just overwork herself until someone told her to take a break. She locked the door of the patient room Moira was laying in and walked to her small private room close to the lab. The last 24 hours where so exhausting, she sliped out of her clothes and lay down in her fluffy sheets. She fell asleep almost immediately and after a good 8 hours sleep her alarm woke her. She needed to check on Moira again, so she walked back. As she opened the door she found Moira sleeping. She quietly walked towards her bed and checked her vitals on the screen. Everything seemed fine. She healed pretty fast, probably because Moira made adjustments on her own body too. Angela looked at her again, noticing that the gray hair on the side of Moiras head looked really cute. Moira aged really well. She still looked very good. Angela left the room again and walked to the canteen, getting food for Moira. In the canteen she met Lena, who was sitting on a table with a few other agents. Lena waved at her with a surprised face as she passed by. "Isn't today your day off?" she asked confused. Angela nodded "I forgot something and had to drive by again." she lied. "Don't you dare work on your free day!" Lena answered suspicious. Angela smiled and shook her head while heading for the checkout. Then she walked back. She sighed reliefed as she left the room.

As she opened the door of Moiras room, the redhead was already waiting for her. "I brought you food, you need to eat something." Moira took the bag thankfully and started eating the sandwich. Angela looked at her again and sighs. "Overwatch will arrest you if they find out you're here. And they will, it's only a matter of time." she started. Moira nodded. Of course she already knew that. "But if you wanna quit Talon and tell us some information they might let you off more easily." Moira nodded again and stayed quiet until she finished her food. Angela was nervous and looked worried. "Please Moira, they are evil and just bring terror. They even left a brilliant scientist like you to die..." Moira stared at Angela again and smirked. "The world called me evil things too, just because they couldn't understand. But you're right, they left me to die. How unlucky for them that I survived..." Angela smiled and took Moira's hands in happiness. "Thank you!" she laughed relieved. The moment got quite between both women and they blush embarrassed.

"Will you ever forgive me? I mean, I understand if you dont" Moira asked after a while and looked into Angelas water blue eyes. Angela bit her tongue and looked down. The pain in her heart was still tremendous, but she felt her old love for Moira burning brighter. "I need a bit more time Moira. This is still a lot, you know? The past still hurts, but now that you're back..." she paused. Moira smiled at her gently "No need to rush, Angel. I'm already really happy we met again." Angela intensely, when Moira called her Angel again. There was something special for her in this nickname. She never liked it back in the days when Moira called her this pet name, but now she felt flattered. "Tell me when I should call a higher up of Overwatch so you can plead your case." Moira sighed and nodded. "I'm ready anytime." Angela looked at Moira and checked her vitals again. She was almost stable. What a fast recovery from an injury that heavy. But somehow Angela didnt want to separate again so she decided that keeping her here for one or two more days would be fine. Hopefully nobody would notice until she will tell Winston herself.

"What are your future plans?" Angela asked carefully. Moira seemed to think for a moment and looked at her arm. "I never thought of that because I always worked under a deadline that surprisingly didn't enter till now. But spontaneously I would say maybe get independent again. I can't work for Talon or Overwatch anymore." Angela thought about her words. Was there a chance she might change? "You still can do good, Moira. And if you are willing to change Overwatch might take you back." Moira laughed at Angela's words. "I don't think so, you are still naive, Angel." Angela huffed. "Are you willing to try?" There was a moment of silence, Moira seemed to think again. "It hurts a lot to give up my goals but I guess I have no choice. I will try, for you." Angela blushed and her heart jumped. This meant so much to her. Moira literally never changed her science. Even tho she understood how Moira must have felt, she was a passionate scientist too after all. "You can still do science for the genetic evolution of humanity, Moira. Just use non-controversial methods." she tried to cheer her up. "But it's so... inefficient. I made so much progress in the past years. I found a way to modify the human body." "I know" Angela took her hand again and sighed. "You already did so much, why not taking a break from this? And nobody wants you to give up your goal. Look what happend to your arm." Moira stayed silent and moved her right fingers not knowing what to say. She wasn't sure if she was ready for this. It was her whole mission after all, she gave her life to science. Her heart felt heavy, but she nodded, she would try it for Angela.

Angela felt happy about Moiras decision. "Thank you, I know its hard." she sighed, "Tell me when you are ready to speak with Overwatch." Moira nodded and pressed Angelas hand. There was this special feeling between them again. Moira looked at Angela for a moment and her heart felt warm. "I wanna know more about what you did since I left Overwatch" she smiled. Angela sighed again and looked strained. "I left too. There was just too much going on that didn't met with my morals anymore. After Overwatch I worked a bit around the world, just helping people. I was there where I was needed, like in Kairo. And then the recall came. First I was not ready to go back, but after some time I decided that I will help them again. The old leaders are gone, maybe we can do a restart even if it's illegal now." Moira nodded and smiled a bit. "You are great Angela, you did so much for humanity." Angela was not prepared for a compliment so she blushed surprised. "I did what I could." She smiles modestly. She thought for a moment if she should ask Moira the same, but she was scared to get the real answers she already guessed to knew. But she had to know. "I-It was you who modified the Talon agents right...?" "Indeed." "Did they want it?" "Not all of them." Moiras answer hurt Angela like Moira just stabbed a dagger in her heart. Poor Amelie. She was in shock for a moment and felt like she couldn't move. Moira pressed her hand stronger. The silence lasted for quite a time. Angela took a deep breath "When you work for Overwatch again do you think there is a way to bring Amelie back?" She was scared to look at Moiras face. "Maybe. It depends on how many tests we can run on her again. But to be honest, I think we can never bring her back to the old Amelie you knew. She might stop being a cold assassin and might get a new peaceful life again, but not like it was before." Angela nodded. "I thought you might say that, because I thought about it enough myself." She felt exhausted and tired. Moira lifted Angelas chin and smirked at her. "Maybe you should take a break too, Dr. Ziegler. When was your last real vacation?" Angela stayed silent. "As I thought." Moira answered after a short silence. "I can't take a break if the world is burning..." she mumbled. "You know yourself the best you should. If you don't rest, you can't help the world with your full power." Moira said as their eyes met again. Angela seemed teared apart. "I know it's hard if you are passionate about something." Somehow, they both ended up in the same situation.

There was silence between them again until Angela stood up to check Moiras vitals once more. "You're lucky your cells regenerate very fast." she said. Moira nodded proudly "It took me quite a time to get there." Angela laughed "You're so silly Moira." Moira nodded again, smirking. A feeling crawled up in Angela's chest, an old desire to just kiss Moira. She blushed and thought about it. "Am I really ready for this?" she asked herself and looked at the tall woman. Why was she so handsome?! Of course I wanna kiss her stupid face again. She giggled silently, her exhaustion pushing that desire even more. She felt pretty confident that their relationship could blossom again, after some time had passed. Maybe she should try how a kiss felt and decide after that. Angela got close to Moiras bed and sat down next to it. "So, how are you feeling?" Moira looked at her arms Very good compared to when I was dying. I feel healthy but maybe not at full strength again." Angela noted what Moira is saying and stared at Moira's face, blushing. Moira noticed and started to smirk which only made Angela blush more. "You wanna kiss me so bad, you look stupid." Moira laughed. Angela almost fell off her chair in surprise. Was she really that predictable? Her whole face felt hot now. "I don't mind doing it, you know? I love you Angel." Moira smiled and her face got a little bit red too.

The blond woman got closer and closer, why was it so hard? It felt like their very first time kissing again. Moira lifted her arm and caressed Angelas face, softly guiding their lips together. The kiss felt amazing, both overwhelmed by emotions and their love for each other. It really was like their first time again, so special and unique like their relationship was. Their lips danced and Angela could feel Moiras dry, but still very soft lips. They both felt home again, like finding something you lost long ago.
