PLAYLIST : Bad Bitch - Bebe Rexha ft. Ty Dolla $ign

Good Girls - 5SOS

"What, a sex goddess? What kind of a joke is that?"

I covered my mouth to stifle the giggles that were fighting to escape. When I was sure that I could control them, I replied in my best imitation of a low husky tone disguising my voice, "That's what everyone calls me, Brent. I'm the girl you get dirty dreams about."

Tiffany and I sat in my room talking to Brent on speaker phone.

"Wait, you know my name. How? I've never even met you." He sounded boggled.

     "Would you like to?"

"I've got no idea who you are and why you're calling me. Where did you get my number?" he asked for the millionth time.

Damn! This was turning out to be the most boring prank call ever made.

I raised my eyebrows at Tiffany. She just shrugged and whispered, "Go with it. The beach."

I turned my attention to the phone call. "Weren't you at the beach last weekend, Brent?"

This perked up his attention. "Yes, I was. You weren't there, were you?"

"Of course I was. Where else do you think I checked out your hot body?" I said in my most seductive voice.

"Yeah? I think I remember you now."

     Yeah, right.

I could bet my last dollar that he was jumping in his room with a wide toothy grin.

"I noticed a girl staring at me. I'm sure it was you," he continued.

I couldn't control myself anymore and started laughing.

"Why are you laughing?" he asked.

"Because you guessed right, silly. It was me. And," I added, " I'm intoxicated by you."

"But I didn't talk to you," he insisted.

"Your friend gave me your name and number. Does that satisfy your curiosity?" I said exasperated.

"OK, I got that. Sorry, won't ask no more questions. You were saying?" Excitement was evident in his voice.

     What a desperate!

     "Wanna meet up?" I asked.

"Yes! You have a sexy voice."

"Thanks. But there's a lot more sexy you're yet to see."

Tiffany moved away from the phone and chortled. I shushed her quickly.

"I'm sure, sexy voice. How about we meet tonight at Denny's? At eight?"

So I was 'sexy voice' now. "Sure."

"Cool. How will I recognize you?"

"Don't worry, I'll come to you. And I may not be a genie, but I can make your dreams come true." I gagged at my own cheesy line. I'd never become that cheesy girl in real life, I promised myself.

"You won't judge me if I say that I'm blushing right now, will you?"

"No, I won't. I know the kind of effect I have on guys. You haven't started yet."

     "I can't believe-"

"Ok, see you at eight o'clock. Bye. Keep your pants on till then." I finally hung up and Tiffany and I burst out laughing.

"Damn! That was crazy." Tiffany pulled me into a side hug. "You are a seductress."

"No, I'm not. That was just acting. And only because you asked me to." The things you do for your best friend.

If anything, I was the complete opposite of a seductress, a guy repellent maybe? And I would never talk in such a cheesy way with anyone. I hate cheesy. I don't go all mushy, lovey dovey on people. I'm practical.

"I would pay to see his expression when he turns up at Denny's and realizes that there's no sex goddess waiting to make his dreams come true." Tiffany was still going on.

"Serves him right for being an ass, I guess," I said.

Brent was a junior with us at Lakewood High and was giving Tiffany a hard time. He was in four of her classes and sat next to her and flirted with her all the time. The prank call was kind of a payback. I was good at imitating voices and Tiffany had this idea of sending Brent on a blind date; except there won't be any date.

He was the kind of guy who'd chase every hot girl he laid eyes on, in the hope of scoring at least one decent date. Having a girl (with a sexy voice) ask him out, would be enough to give him a hard on. He didn't even ask the girl's- I mean my name, and agreed to the blind date.

I turned off the cellphone and put it in a drawer, hiding it under some old books.

"Are you sure Brent won't find out it was us?" Tiffany asked.

"He won't. I called him from Gina's old number. She hasn't been using it for about a year," I said confidently.

"But doesn't like 'everyone' have your sister's phone number?" Tiffany drawled out the word everyone and made air quotes.

"Why would someone have her year old number? Besides, even if Brent finds out it's Gina's number and talks to her, he'll get his ass smacked. And, he wouldn't even imagine that hottie Gina's nerdy little sister would call him up. It's foolproof."

Gina was a no-nonsense girl and wouldn't take shit from anyone. And Brent probably knew better than to accuse her of pranking him.

Tiffany smiled at the thought. "You are a genius, Viv. Say what, let's actually head to Denny's and see the action live. My treat?"

"I'd rather not. I have this biology quiz coming up and I really have to ace it," I tried to wiggle out of the offer. It was true that I had to study for the quiz, but the main reason I didn't want to go was Brent. However bad he was, we'd pranked him enough and I didn't want to witness the result of what I'd done today. I was also scared that by seeing us there, he'd realize it was us and I was dead bad at confrontations.

Like really, really bad. I'm usually able to convince my mouth to shut up but my facial expressions always betray me. My mouth is also capable of cooking up lies, but my face always screws up the enormous effort it makes to cover up my faults. Maybe biology should have a topic that teaches us to hold sway over the facial muscles. It can be called Containment of the facial muscles : The liars' guide to not get caught.

"Bummer. I always knew taking AP classes would hit back. Why did you take so many?" Tiffany frowned.

"I'm only taking two, Bio and Calculus," I said.

Tiffany arched an eyebrow. "Two is a lot. I'm taking none and it's still messing with my weekends." She placed a hand on her chest and exhaled deeply. She tended to be over-dramatic sometimes.

"Funny, but we do hangout. I'm just not feeling it today."

"Alright, I'll let you transition into your nerd mode. We'll anyway get to know about Brent's disastrous date on Monday. See you around, nerdy seductress." She hugged me goodbye.

"Don't you dare call me that. Plus, that doesn't even make sense." I playfully hit her with a pillow.

"Bye." She just laughed and left.

Tiffany left and fun time was over. I took out my biology textbook, transitioning into the 'nerd mode', and started reading for the quiz Mr. Crosby had planned for us the next week.
