Lauren & Quinn

When Lauren woke up the next morning, she was immediately reminded that she'd be meeting Quinn and that brought along a mixture of nerves and excitement. They had planned everything before hand, and he was to pick her up here at 10am, which was in two hours.

Lauren got up and immediately walked to the bathroom, turning her curling iron on. As that warmed up, she got her skin care out, and put her phone on the counter. She opened her Spotify and scrolled through her playlist, finding a song she wanted.

She washed her face and went through her routine, taking the occasional dance break. When she finished her skin care, she grabbed the curling iron and began to do her hair.

She decided to do loose curls, knowing that they looked more relaxed and casual. She scrunched them up a little bit and then let them fall, watching them bounce in the mirror.

She turned the curling iron off, unplugging by it as well to be safe, and she turned the bathroom light off and walked out. She walked over to the closet and looked through her clothes for something to wear.

It was October, so definitely something on the warmer side, but not too warm that she would sweat. She grabbed a pair of light wash jeans, and laid them out on the bed.

She then looked through her shirts again, picking out a light grey sweater, putting on and checking how it looked in the mirror. She smiled, grabbing her phone to take a picture to send to the girls but to also post on her story.

Within a few moments she got a notification on her phone, and when she looked at it, it was Quinn, liking her story. She smiled ear to ear and texted the girls again.

She made her way through the lobby, finding Quinn sitting on the couches waiting for her. She took a quick deep breath and walked up to him.

"Hi." She said as she got closer, him looking up. He stood up immediately and met her.

"Hey." He greeted, smiling hard. "Uh so I planned a lot for us to do today, so we should get going."

"Sounds good."

"Of course, coffee first." Quinn said in a matter-of-fact tone, as he pulled into a side street. He found a space to park that was only a little walk away from the place he was taking her.

He got out, telling Lauren to wait. She sat there confused, but he walked around the car and opened her door.

"I can open my own door Quinnie." Lauren remarked, but he just brushed it off.

"I know you can, but let me." He smiled, shutting the door once she was out. They walked towards the little cafe, Lauren taking in the street view.

"Okay so a little backstory." Quinn started, Lauren turning her attention to him. "I found this place my first year here, I was touring and came across it and ever since I've come here every Sunday that I'm in town."

"Ooh you're showing me your spot?" Lauren said in a sort of sarcastic tone. Quinn just looked at her and rolled his eyes playfully.

"It'll become your spot too once you try their banana loaf, I came back to buy like three more slices that same day." Quinn explained, Lauren giggling softly.

"Well I do love myself some banana bread." She replied, as they got to the door. Quinn opened it and let her in first.

The smell inside the cafe was so strong and delicious that it made your mouth water upon walking in. They walked up to the counter, the barista smiling as she came over.

She must've realized who Quinn was with because the expression on her face was as if she just found a million dollars.

"Oh my goodness, Lauren, I'm such a big fan." The barista spoke fast, but Lauren caught every word.

"I might just become your biggest fan if what my friend is telling me about your banana loaf is true." Lauren smiled softly, the barista looking to Quinn.

"Oh my god my hands are trembling. What can I get for you two?" The barista nervously smiled, her hands in fact shaking slightly as they hovered by the screen.

"Two slices of your banana loaf, I'll have a medium black coffee. Quinn?" Lauren said their order and then turned to him so he could say his.

"I'll get my regular." Quinn stated, and she typed it in. Quinn picked his wallet out of his back pocket when the barista spoke up.

"It's on the house." She smiled but Lauren shook her head.

"No please let us pay."

"Please let it be my treat if I could just get a picture with both of you?" She asked, and Lauren nodded. She sent the order in, and then walked around the counter to stand beside Quinn and Lauren. She handed her phone to a coworker who took a few pictures and smiled as well.

"Thank you so much." The barista spoke fast and smiled.

"What's your name honey." Lauren asked, watching the barista grab the two slices of lid from the display case, and putting them on a small cardboard tray.

"Melissa." She replied, standing up and handing the tray to her.

"That's such a lovely name." Lauren complimented, Quinn just standing there watching them both.  He turned slightly, letting them divulge in a conversation while they waited for their coffee.

He couldn't help but smile at the fact she was actually giving Melissa the attention, because the last girlfriend he had definitely wouldn't have.

But Lauren isn't his girlfriend, he reminded himself. 'Yet' echoed in his mind but he pushed it aside, turning back to grab his coffee.

"It was so good meeting you Melissa, I hope to see you around!" Lauren waved goodbye, and her and Quinn entered the street again.

When Quinn pulled back in front of Laurens hotel, she didn't want their day to end.

"I had a lot of fun Quinn." Lauren smiled, Quinn turning to look at her.

"I did too."

"Do you want to come up to my room? Oh my god that sounds so bad." Lauren started laughing, and Quinn joined in. "I mean like to watch a movie or something." Lauren explained, her cheeks heating with embarrassment.

Quinn looked at the time, it only being 8:27pm.

"Yeah, I'd like that. You get out and I'll go find somewhere to park quick." Quinn said, Lauren nodding and getting out.

She stood patiently at the doors, and watched as he walked towards her from his parking spot.

They walked through the lobby, heads turning and eyes following them, and got on an elevator that took them to her floor.

She grabbed her keycard from her purse, pressing it up against the sensor and unlocking the door. She walked in first, him following closely behind her.

She quietly thanked her past self for cleaning up before she left.

"So, I was thinking we could watch 'How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.'" Lauren smiled sheepishly, "unless you don't want to watch that, then we can totally find something else."

"I actually love that movie." Quinn laughed, Lauren's jaw dropping slightly.

"Really?!" She laughed as well, taking off her shoes by the door, Quinn copying her.

They walked over to the bed, Lauren closing the curtains.

"Here, can you get it set up?" Lauren handed him the remote, before walking off to the bathroom.

As she shut the door, she breathed out. She waited a few moments, letting some of the nerves leave her system before walking back out. She shut the lights off on her way by, and walked to the other side of the bed.

Quinn wasn't sure when exactly Lauren had fell asleep, but she did and he couldn't help but watch her.

He turned the tv off, setting the remote on the nightstand. He very slowly moved off the bed, pulling the blanket they were sharing over her more.

He felt bad for leaving without saying goodbye, but in this case, it was sort of inevitable.

He quietly walked towards the door, putting his shoes back on and heading out. He knew it would look bad on him for sneaking out if anybody caught wind of it, so as he got closer to the lobby, he made sure to look before proceeding.

He hurried out of the lobby and to his car, getting in and locking the doors quickly.

As he sat in his car in the hotel parking lot, he smiled at the day he had with her, thinking about what they could do next time.
