Maris POV

"Mom!! we're home!!!" I shouted while Channelle closed the door behind her.

"Ohh my beautiful kids, welcome... How was school?, did you make new friends?,"

"I made a friend, her name is Tina and we have some connection together!",

"Oh great, rat meeting rat, why won't there be a connection"

"Channelle don't start" Mom warned me, "So tell me how was school for you?"

"Well, I made friends-"

"Make friends, get enemy for extra"

"Maris let you sister finish talking"

"I made friends and I think I've be included in some people's black list...  And least I forget the school is weird"

"Weird!! did you say weird!?"

"You heard well Maris, and when I mean weird, I'm not talking about the school's structure-which is very nice, neither I'm I talking about the students- they seem cool... There's just something odd about the school"

"Mom, I don't know what Channelle is trying to say but the school is good!! ... And Elle if you think doing this would make mom or dad change their mind about 'me' or rather about 'us' going to that school, you better change your tactics  cause you're way higher than this..."

"Hey, that wasn't what I meant... The teacher sai- you know what, forget it I'll be upstairs"

"Maris"

" I know mom, I know but the school is good I don't know what she finds weird or odd about it"

"I'm sure she has her reasons, go freshen up I'll be leaving the house soon"

"To where?" With the kind of look she's giving me, I don't think I should expect an answer " okay mom, but you would inform us before leaving right?"

"Yes I would, now hurry"

  I wonder why she would say something like that... Having a few words with  big sister wouldn't hurt, I pray she doesn't break my head... I think I need to knock that should appease her first, but knocking- I'll just go..

"Knock knock"

Channelle's POV

"Knock knock"

Mom is out and Maris doesn't knock, who's that?, I picked up my slippers and a pillow, Wait what would I do with these

"If you are a human being come in"

The door opened and Maris made her way in

"And who said you could come in, I remember saying 'human being' and you're a 'rat', so out out"

I discovered something ,I hurriedly opened my door to look out "who knocked?"

"Me of course"

"Like I mean, who raised the hand to make the sound on my door that goes 'knock knock ' "

"I did and stop being dramatic"

"What do you want, I figured since you knocked you came to appease me, so you don't get to leave here in pieces"

"Why do you think the school is weird?"

Great, someone is asking... Maybe I'll just tell her

"Miss Sharon said something"

"And who's Miss Sharon"

"The English Teacher, she said something weird"

"You shouldn't be listening to such teachers, Mom said ' don't listen to strangers!' "

Did she???, I thought it was ' don't talk to strangers' ,anyways Miss Sharon isn't a stranger at least not anymore.

"She said 'I hope you don't regre-"

"Maybe you're just being paranoid"

And here I thought somebody finally has sense

"We just started attending the school, I guess it's normal for you to feel that way" she continues

"Maris you're not getting it, you are not!!"

"I don't want to get what you're getting at.. Okay? And please, don't bring this up during dinner"

"Why, oh so that daddy doesn't change schools right"

"Channelle I like the life there!!, I have a friend that I get along with and I'm not the person who has her name written on somebody's black list already...
I can't leave my new life there all because you feel something odd about the school!! this isn't your life it's mine too so stop being childish and selfish!!!!!!!!!!!"

"Wow, so I'm being childish and selfish, get out! Now!"

"Please don't tell daddy"

"Get out!"

At Dinner

"Did something happen while I was away?, maybe I shouldn't have gone out with what happened" Mom lamented

"They are not kids Regina"

" So what happened while your mother was away"

"Nothing Dad " Maris mumbled

"Channelle?"

"Nothing Sir"

"I doubt"

"The thing is-"

"Dad, Channelle wants you to change school" Maris rushed her words out, cutting me midway,

"I thought we've passed this stage Channelle"

"She said there's something weird about the school" Mom said

"And there's nothing weird" Maris added

"Channelle baby, maybe you're just being paranoid because it's a new school, remember you felt weird when you first attended  one summer camp " Dad said

"And I clearly remember how the kids  in the summer camp were kidnapped" I replied

"In fact I'm done eating, Since no one's trying to understand me "

"Know that I think of it, it makes me angry " Maris said standing up

"Oh so you weren't thinking before, that's a good reason why you don't get it"

"You feel weird about the school!!! what's there to understand? oh oh, or because of your weirdness, we should change schools or let dad shut the school down???.... There's something nobody's telling you, and you know what that is ' there is simply nothing to understand when someone feels weird about something that everyone doesn't feel' "

"Good night, everyone" I left the table,

She's right, I know... But I trust my weirdness

Picking up my phone, I decided to text the girls on the group chat, Amarachi insisted she create
