Maris POV

"Isn't aunty and Uncle supposed to be here by now?" Cynthia muttered

"I called them they said they were on their way," Uncle said, taking a large sip from his can of coke

Jayden stared at Elle " Maybe they need a little motivation"

Uncle turned to look at him and saw him staring at Elle, he got the motivation they needed. He picked up his phone and dialled my mother's number. She picked up at the second ring, he placed the phone on the table putting it on loudspeaker

Phone Conversation*

"What is it?" she picked up

"Aunty you guys need to come home"

"Who is "you guys", we are not coming home till they bring us our baby girl. Elle is missing, she's missing and you're telling me to come home?!! You better don't annoy me"

He sighed "where are you?"

"At the school, where else?"

"I need both of you to leave there. Probably to the place you packed your car, there's something I need to tell you both that nobody else has to know about"

"Is this one of your tricks to get us to come home? Because it's not going to work oh. I am not leaving here until I see my baby"

He sighed again "Just go to your car aunty" he's probably tired of dealing with her, I don't blame him. She's pretty stubborn.

"Okay okay. Let's go in the car. The moment you say what you have to say, I'm coming back to school. I think I might even sleep here. It looks like they wanna see craze"

"Let's see about that" Uncle smirked

I heard my Dad speak from the phone, "Why haven't we called the police ehn? It didn't even cross my mind"

"Babe if it was a normal school, police would have been here by now. You see, we didn't take our kids to a normal school abnormal ni. Just look at how everybody is, they don't even care. Acting like it's not the first time a student has gone missing."

"Erm. Oya Harry, we have reached our car. Say what you want to say because if anybody escapes from that school because of this distraction, it won't be well with you" she cursed

Uncle chuckled " you guys need to come home bec-"

She cut him off "Is this boy deaf? Abi you have something block your ear bec-"

He cut her off this time "because Elle is at home"


"Because... Ehn, what did you say? Did you hear what he said?" She asked Dad

"Get in the car, let's go home. Hurry!" Dad yells over the phone.

"Wo, if this one is actually your trick to bring us back home, you'll see when I get there" she hung up

"Now that wasn't so hard, was it?" Uncle smiled

"It wasn't. Do we talk about the plan or we wait till they come?" Amarachi asked

"We wait, they are part of the plan now."

Everybody was sitting in silence probably thinking about who we saw on the screen earlier.

"I want to ask a question oh," Cynthia eyed Jayden.

 

"I'm guessing the question is going to be directed to me with the way you're looking at me," He glanced at her.


"You're right. Why did you at that point of your life decide to date Vanessa and why are you here with us because if you were still with her. You probably would be arrested with her" Cynthia asked, with curiosity in her eyes.

"About time, someone asked" Tina muttered

Jayden sighed "I don't know"

Amarachi chuckled "You don't know yet you ghosted us and treated us like trash?"

Jayden sighed again " she threatened to harm Elle"


"Well, she has! She did!!" Lami shouted

"And she's going to pay. She has to" Janet smirked

"Yeah, this isn't a tithe it's a tax and we all know how compulsory taxes are. She has no choice" Cynthia snickered

I shook my head "Do I need to remind you guys that it wasn't Vanessa who was on the screen?!"

"Yeah, but it feels so good to have our anger directed at her" Jimmy pouted, I groaned

"I agree. I mean, who would have even thought that we would see that dummy on the camera" Craig said, taking the last sip from his Coke.

"I did," I said.

Cynthia chuckled "Girl, everyone in school is on your list. Anyways, I'm glad we got Elle and also got the dummy"

"It's funny" Elle spoke up,

"What's funny?" Uncle asked.

"When we didn't know who it was, we referred to the person as "Mysterious Kidnapper" "Mr X". Now that we know who it is, we refer to the person as a "dummy" "

We laughed lightly "Well the person-days of being Mr X is over now it's dummy," Janet announced


We heard the car horn. They are here.

"Where is she?! Where is she?!" Mom rushed in immediately shouting and looking around frantically. When her eyes met with Elle's, she sat on the floor and cried uncontrollably, her body vibrating as she sobbed. Elle went to hug her. Mom kept crying muttering "thank you Lord" repeatedly.

Dad wiped his tears and joined in the hug.

Mom turned Elle around, looking for any injury "How-how did they find you?" She hugged her tightly

"I think we should be happy that she's alive and here with us," Dad kissed Elle's head.

I took a sip from my coke "We found her, we are going to call someone right?" I looked at Uncle


"Oh yes yes. That would be after we talk"


"How did you guys find her?" Dad asked, sitting beside me.

We told them the story of how we found her to the tracker, then she told them the story of what she heard in the abandoned building.

 
I didn't know that

After telling the story my parents were fuming with anger, you could literally see the steam coming out from their ears.

"They are going to pay!" Mom said through her gritted teeth.

"Yup Aunty, I agree with you but before that, we need to show you something" Uncle nodded at Lami, and she went to the Tv to play the recorded part in the tunnel.

"What? Why is he there?!!" Dad yelled standing up


"As you already know, it's useless involving the police because they are working for them" Uncle Said


"So who do we involve because these people have to pay. I'm not letting them go!" Dad shakes his head.

"My team. We've been on this case for quite a long time"

Mom scoffed "And you couldn't catch them?"


"Unfortunately No, they always did a clean job and it was hard because we couldn't investigate from the inside"

"Well, are you not calling your team?!!"Mom screamed, Elle held her hands to calm her down.

"They are here already. We'll make the arrest tomorrow"

"Why?" Dad asked

Janet spoke this time around "Because tomorrow is our graduation day. Nobody can miss it. So he'll be there and he'll get arrested in front of everybody and not even the media or the police can sweep it under the carpet anymore"

"Good. Well, my kids are not going" Mom said, shocking us.

"Mom!" I whined

"None of you is going, so they'll kidnap you abi? In fact, you're even changing schools after the summer holiday"

"But Mom!" I whined again


"Mom we have to go. In that school, I'm practically the only one who has ever broken the history of coming back alive. We have to go Mom" Elle said.

"Yeah, I don't think any of you would be attending the school after Summer" Uncle said

"Why" Cynthia muttered

"Because the State would be shutting the school down. So I suggest you start looking for schools and avoid the ones with trouble, okay?"

Cynthia and Tina nodded, after all, we were the only ones that have to go to school.

"See you tomorrow Elle, we have to go it's getting late!" Lami stood up to hug her, they took turns in hugging her and me.

"You have to slay in that dress!" I heard Amarachi whisper

"I hope it fits" Elle whispered back.

"Bye Kids!!"My parents waved not without thanking them for rescuing their daughter again and again. They hugged Elle once more.

I smiled and hugged her.

every day for the kidnapper, one day for the kidnapped

Let's see what tomorrow holds for us all.

RQ: Blue Pen or Black Pen?

I love Black pens and I don't hesitate to use them when I have the chance. I like to play it safe by using a Blue pen when writing an exam, not many people are a fan of black pens.
