Maris POV

"Omg!" Janet cried "Elle's dead. I'm sorry Elle, we weren't fast enough. Oh Lord, Elle!" She cried, holding Lami who was still unconscious.

"Janet I think you need to calm down," Jayden said

 

"Don't you get it!! Elle's dead, they-they cut her hand and leg and had the guts to hang it up here" Janet continued, sounding very sad.

"Errmm. I don't think that leg and hand belong to my sister"

She came closer to me " I know it's hard, I know you don't wanna believe it. I know, I know" she cried on my shoulder

"Can you just shut up for a minute Janet, be positive!" Craig said, stepping inside the room "she might be somewhere," he turned to Lami, and seeing that she hasn't gained consciousness, he told Cynthia to get the camera so she can fix it somewhere. We followed him, laying Lami close to the door.

We searched for Elle while Cynthia looked for an excellent spot to hide the camera.

"We can't find her! we've searched. How are we even sure that she's here"

"There's one place left out. We didn't search this cupboard"Craig stood staring at the cupboard

"Are you joking? How can Elle fit into this tiny cupboard" Janet said

"We are in a kidnapper's den Janet, anything can fit into anything. Come on Jason help me open it, I think it's stuck" Jason went over and they both struggled to open it but it didn't open, "Jayden, Jimmy do you mind lending a hand instead of looking like you're in a museum?" They hurried to help them.

"Do you think the other students were killed here?" Tina asked

"Maybe," Cynthia responded "I found a spot" I and Tina rushed to her

"At least, no one is going to suspect there. It's quite hidden. Good work Cynthia" Amarachi said after coming to check the spot. We went on to fix the camera.

The boys were still struggling with the cupboard, "Come on guys be fast with the cupboard! The kidnappers could be here any minute. I really don't want to get kidnapped and get stuffed in a cupboard as that" Janet ranted

"This confirms that someone is inside this cupboard. We have to get it open" Jayden said looking for a bar that could help. he found one which has a blood stain on it. He picked it up not minding Janet who was talking about how we shouldn't touch anything with our bare so that it doesn't get traced back to us.

"If you had given us a glove we definitely wouldn't have rejected," I said calmly, she was getting on everyone's nerves with her rants

Amarachi sighed tiredly "You know what Janet, you're getting on everybody's nerves. Everybody is nervous in here, we just walked into the Lion's Den anything could happen to one of us, something already happened to Lami and if she doesn't wake up on time, she slows us down because now we have two people to carry, who has that strength ehn? If you want to help us, you better keep your mouth shut and let us work so we can get out of here on time. Any questions?"

"No"

"Good, watch over Lami and guide the door"

"We got her!!!!" The boys screamed, and we rushed over to the cupboard area, there she was, squeezed like agege bread inside the cupboard with her hands and feet bundled and her mouth taped, she looked like she hadn't eaten she has a few bruises and cuts.

I cried happily, hugging Tina. The boys hugged each other yelling happily "We did it!!" "Thank you, Lord!"

"Come on, we'll do the celebration at home, we need to get out of here. Jason help me lift her and put her on Craig's back. Jayden takes Lami. Cynthia, did you fix the camera, turned it on and put it in a good position to capture everything? We don't want anything left out"

"I did Jimmy"

"Well let's get out of here."

We put everything we touched back to the way we saw it, we successfully made our way to the back gate of the school to which we had two cars waiting for us. One was what we drove here and the other belonged to Uncle Harry, whom we asked to wait for us.

 

This is how he got into the picture: he heard Elle has been kidnapped, and since he was the one who inserted the tracker on her, he tracked her down first. I called and spilt too much before he took his next step. He couldn't come immediately after we told him of the plan so we told him to meet us at the back gate of the school, which he was sceptical about but he did it!

He got down from his car the moment he sighted us, I hugged him tightly. "I guess I underestimated you guys. Good job kids. Let's get out of here!" He drove with Elle, Jimmy, Janet and Jason. While we went with, Lami who regained consciousness on the way, Amarachi, Tina, Jayden and Craig.

 

"What did I miss?"Lami yawned loudly,

 

"You missed a lot, like a lot. We had to hide you inside a tiny cupboard because the kidnappers came" Jason who was driving said


"OMG! Did they come underground? Did they catch you guys?"

"We knocked them out with some weapons we found" Jimmy answered Lami whose eyes were wide open with her hands to her wide-open mouth

"Omo, you get luck oh! Thank God we knocked them out quickly because one of them found you and was almost close to putting a knife on your arm"

"Jesus!!" Lami screamed,

"Thank God we are all safe, that's what matters"

Thank God. I smiled

We drove into my house.




"What are we going to do with her and your parents?" Janet asked after we took her in and made Nilo promise he wasn't going to say anything to my parents.

Uncle Harry came in " I'll take care of her parents, clean her up and let her rest in Maris' room, and get her food too. Uncle and Aunty would soon be on their way, I asked them to come home. The Camera?"

"Oh yes! Let me connect it to the Tv" Lami turned the Tv on, connected her phone. Now we can see the underground tunnel we just came out from in full display, with no angle missing out.

"Just imagine we see somebody we are not expecting to see on the TV," Jason asked, sipping a can of Coke. " by the way, am I the only one who feels this rescue mission happened too quickly be true?"


"No you're not but we owe most of the work to Elle. She's really smart! I knew we were going to find her quick" Jimmy said



"She woke up," I said, coming down the stairs. "She ate a little, she's back to sleep. Uncle have you called the doctor?"


Everybody was seated in the parlour while Jason offered to share more cans of Coke.


"Yes, I have. She would be here soon, she was really happy. I think she heard the news that she was kidnapped. Well, I just want to let you guys know that you may see somebody on the Camera that you probably were not expecting to see, this is because students are kidnapped by their fellow classmates and then taken to the tunnel" Uncle took a big sip from the Coke

Jayden put his Coke on the table " Wait, let me get this straight, So you mean that the person who kidnaps the student and takes them to the main kidnapper is a student like us?"

"Exactly"



"Omo! Then Vanessa has the right to top our suspect list!" Janet exclaimed


"Jayden also has the right to top our suspect list," I said slowly, everybody stared at me, "okay look, I'm just saying that everybody has the right to top the list even the Principal, but that's not the point. Who noticed the way Kachi was smiling when we were threatening Vanessa earlier today in the sports room?"

Lami shook her head "I didn't notice anything, Janet did you notice anything?" Janet nodded negative, same with everyone.

"What kind of smile was she wearing?" Uncle asked

"She had that wicked smile"

"Everybody has a wicked smile, have you seen Amarachi's own?" Cynthia smiled pointing to Amara, who in turn, did her wicked smile.

I sighed "That's not what I meant"


"Guys, I think someone just entered the room" Craig called our attention, we moved our eyes to the screen of The TV

"Ahh! You did good work indeed. I'm proud of you" A male voice said

"Ah! You need to see their faces. Everything is going according to plan, the suspect and all" a female voice added


"Oh, that's wonderful. Bring her out, let's bundle her and send her to him. You know he doesn't like it when his girls are late" the male voice said sounding very happy


To access the cupboard the person would have to walk directly into the camera, so we all waited to see who would grace us with his or her face.

 

When we saw the person we all screamed loudly, "ah!!" Amara shouted

"Ah! Sir, she's not here!" the female voice said, the man rushed into the camera.

 

We all screamed again louder, Janet fell to the floor


"Ehh! Do you think she might have escaped? Eee! Let's leave her immediately!"

They rushed out.

Uncle glanced at our  surprised, sad, gloomy faces "I think you guys know who did it."


A voice responded but it wasn't from any of us who were seated in the parlour "Ehen! I knew that voice sounded so familiar" it was from Elle, she was awake. I rushed to hug her

"I missed you!!" I whispered to her,


" I missed you more!"


We took turns in hugging her. She hugged me again.


"Everyone still believes I've been kidnapped, So what's the plan?" She asked.
