i missed you     ⋆·˚ ༘ *

ADDI SMILED WHEN SHE SAW chris' car pull into her driveway. quickly opening the door to her house and stepping out she ran into the mans open arms.

"i missed you."

he chuckled, "we were on facetime last night."

addi just buried her face further into his neck, inhaling the woodsy scent of his cologne.

"still. we haven't been together in person since the hospital."

addi could practically feel chris' smile grow.

"i missed you too."

after who knows how long chris finally pulled away from the brunette.

he gave her one more smile before walking to the passenger side of the car to open the door for her.

addi felt her heart do an unnecessary kick as the gesture. she blushed and thanked him before getting in the car.

by the time chris got to the other side of the car the actress had manage to get the blush under control.

while chris started the car addison looked at him. "you never told me what your favorite meal is."

chris gave her a sideways look and smirked. "because i still don't feel like you have to cook for me just because i'm giving you a ride."

"you know addi you don't always have to pay everyone back someway. sometimes people just like helping others."

she knew that, really she did. she just didn't like it.
addison was never good at expecting help, her parents had drilled it in to her head that everyone always wanted something in return.

so instead of answering she just nodded at the actor in the drivers seat and looked out the window.

by the time they got to the store addi couldn't keep the smile off her face.

the whole car ride was filled with little jokes and smiles and it was one of the best times addi had had in a long time.

just like he did before chris walked over to addi's side of the car and opened the door.

addi feels her smile grow, which she didn't even think was possible.

"and they say chivalry is dead."

chris gives her a sincere smile. "never."

addi once again ducked her head to hide the pink dust that covers her cheeks.

as the two of them walk into the store chris grabs a cart and leans on the handlebar.

"so what do you need to get?"

addi pulls the list out of her pocket and begins to ramble off the things she needs to buy as they walk in further in the store.

after walking down a couple isles and just talking addi's phone starts ringing.

chris, who was cut off mid sentence by the cheery ringtone, smiles at her and says "you can get that. i'll just head towards the eggs."

the actress nods before pulling her phone out of her pocket.

she read in bold across her screen

MIKEY

she smiles before hitting the accept button.

hello?

hey addi!
sorry i'm just now returning your
call me and cody are hanging out
and i just picked up my phone

oh it's okay!
are you still with him?

so what did you need?

well i was going to ask you if you
could give me a ride to the store but
i got it figured out

oh that's good!
who did you ending going with?

uh
chris actually

you're with chris right now?!

she's what?

she's with chris!

he literally just gave me a ride to the
store stop getting ideas!

alright, alright
well i'll let you get back to your grocery
date with captain america
bye sis!

by the time addi caught up with chris he was scrolling on his phone. she snuck up behind him and did a little jump on his shoulders.

"what you doing?"

chris flinched a little under the sudden weight of the girl before relaxing. "hey, sorry i didn't hear you coming. answering the avengers groupchat."

addi looked down at her phone, and sure enough there were plenty of notifications from the big group.

she shrugged. "oh well, we can answer them later. we just need to get bread and then we can leave."

chris gave her a look she couldn't decipher before smiling and walking towards the bread.

still, she was left breathless for a second because of the way he looked at her.

once they were finally walking at the same pace chris looked at her. "so what do you say we just order pizza tonight?"

even though addi really wanted to cook for the man the idea of pizza sounded really appetizing.

"fine, but you're letting me pay."

chris held up his hands in mock surrender and nodded.

by the time they got back to the house and put everything away both of the were starving.

they were sitting on the couch talking when the doorbell rang. addi smiled brightly before jumping up to answer the door.

chris kept his promise and let her pay, in the end he supplied the tip.

as chris carried the boxes to the living room addi walked in to the kitchen. "want anything to drink?"

"yeah sure anything's fine."

after she finished pouring the drinks she came around the corner of the kitchen to find chris petting a cat.

"oh my gosh i'm so sorry that's mikey's cat. i forgot to ask if you were allergic. usually we keep him up in the room when we have guests over. he's not a people fan."

she trailed off, noticing how well the cat curled in to the actors side when he sat down.

"well, usually."

she raised an eyebrow to the cat as she sat down.

chris laughed and pet him again. "what's his name?"

"milo."

chris smiled down at the cat, "hi milo."

milo purred and readjusted himself.

chris looked at her. "i'm not usually a cat person. i respect cats, i think they're beautiful creatures, i just connect more with dogs."

addi smiled at him "well it looks like milo is an exception."

chris opened the pizza box and the two began to eat with conversation fitting in somewhere in there.

some of it might have been considered flirting, but who's going to be the judge of that?

somewhere between talking and laughing and the two had gotten closer, physically and emotionally.

it was late, but addi didn't want to have to tell chris to leave. so instead she acted oblivious to the time as they kept talking.

"what was it like for you growing up? if you could change anything about it, what would it be?"

addi has to stop for a minute. she thought about this answer all the time, but no one ever stopped to ask.

"my parents had me young, i was their teen pregnancy. they just weren't ready to have a kid yet. they weren't ready for me. they didn't know what they were doing. they raised me to be nothing short of perfection and to never take anything from anybody. i guess it comes from the way everyone they thought they could trust left when they had me."

addi knows she rambling and saying more than what he asked but she hasn't said this out loud before and now that she is she can't stop.

"by the time they had mikey my mom was working two jobs and we never saw her and my dad was practically checked out."

she was looking down by the time she finally stopped talking. carefully, chris put his hand on her knee.

"they weren't bad people, just bad parents."

"no matter what, you're an amazing person now whether it was because of them or not."

addi looked up at him, their faces mere inches away. if she turned her head just the slightest bit and leaned forward...

chris seemed to be thinking the same thing, because he looked down at her lips then back at her eyes.

before she could convince herself otherwise she leaned in just the tiniest bit. chris' grip on her knee tightened a little as he did the same.

right before their lips touched, "addi! i'm home! i brought cody with me!"

addi heard a thump as the door closed and then a another sound before cody's voice rang out. "mikey!" it was a hushed whisper.

the two had jumped apart the second the door had closed but her cheeks still flushed as she thought about how it didn't matter because they had already seen it.

for a few seconds no one moved.

then chris cleared his throat and smiled at mikey and cody. "hi, it's nice to meet you. i've heard a lot about you two."

mikey gave him a smirk. "all good things i hope."

"mostly." addi gave him a pointed look.

before more damage could be done cody grabbed mikey by the arm and started dragging him up the stairs.

"it was nice to meet you, maybe next time we'll be able to stay a little bit longer."

chris nodded.

after they finally made it to a different level of the apartment chris stood. addi sighed.

"i'm so sorry."

chris grabbed her hand and pulled her up next to him. "stop apologizing. it's not your fault."

addi, who didn't trust her voice due to how close they stood, just nodded.

chris kissed her forehead. it was short and sweet but it made addi's heart soar out of her chest.

he pulled her into a hug and she quickly wrapped her arms around his waist.

"i'll talk to you later, okay?"

addi pulled away and chris began to walk towards the door.

as if thinking better of it addi quickly rushed out, "promise?"

chris looked at her from the doorway. "promise."

then he was gone. the only sign he was there was the beating of addi's chest and the way her forehead burned from where his lips had just barely touched her.

she let out a breathy sigh and sat back down on the couch.

"well?? WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED?"

addi turned around and threw a pillow at her brother on the top of the stairs. but the anger was short lived. she let out a laugh as she curled in to the couch.
