Admiral Forest sat in the middle of the official UEC Public Military Briefing, between the families of the Spirit of Endurance, and the hundreds of News Reports there. It was the first since the public heard of the last two attacks, and that there was still one active ship within the Expanse. It was headline news when that emerged. Before the meeting, they were all told – somewhat of what the Spirit was going to do. Supreme Commander of the United Earth Coalition fleet, High Admiral Joseph Laden walked in and the entirety of the military officers stood to attention. Admiral Laden sat down and the rest sat down.

"Thank you for coming here today. Ten days ago, we received an encoded message from the Spirit of Endurance, that was part of the Seventh fleet that was destroyed at Drexicon Nine." Admiral Forest looked as several people jotted down what he said, as HoloCameras hovered nearby, as people took HoloPhotos. "They managed to contact us using Rangar Anchorage Ammunition Depot's communication array. They have decided to go forward with a risky operation, that involved finding the insurrectionists super weapon, and then detonating their FTL drive, within proximity, or somehow inside of the weapon, destroying it." Admiral Forest tapped a control on the panel, and a hologram appeared above the desk. "It involves jumping into position underneath their weapon near their reactors, or the directly into the weapons core, which could cause it to backfire." Admiral Forest showed the possible scenario play out, as a holographic Spirit of Endurance jumped under, showing the explosive outcome. "The plan is risky, and the Spirit would have approximately 32 seconds to escape the blast wave, the only way would be to perform a Q maneuver, better known as a gravity assist, where they circle around the collapse of the ship, and have gain momentum to escape the gravity well produced by FTL detonation, and the weapons collapse, if they get enough momentum they should be able to escape, and get to a safe distance, when it explodes." It sounded like a plan straight out of Star Wars, a heroic plan, that is extremely dangerous. "Questions?"

"Admiral Laden?" The entirety of the news reporters stood up with their recorders. "Admiral Laden, what is the time they will be recovered if this goes per plan?"

"If this goes per plan, we will have a long range tactical vessel ready for launch in one to two years to reach their location. They have enough supplies, and food to last at least a couple of months, then the crew can go into cryosleep for the until they can be retrieved."

"Sir, the Ragnar station is quite outdated, how do you plan on recovering them, if their communication array has been damaged or destroyed?"

"Their ship has a emergency transponder, that can be activated within 2 light years of the ships location. Thank you, that will be all." Admiral Forest stood up as the rest of them joined for a emergency briefing.
