Chapter 9 (Part 1)
APOLLO
I took a deep breath. I guess this is all or nothing. I held the knight sword tighter on my hands. I could my heart beat raced fast, while looking back at the shadow humans. I tried not to show any fear on my face. I know they would be stronger if I would be terribly weak before them. From this moment, its all by freaking myself, and I had do to this alone independently.
"Oh. Looking so serious and tough. Aren't you?" The tall one remarked, staring at me from head to toe.
"What if he's afraid to come closer to us? Maybe he's starting to leak on his pants, haha," the fat one chuckled heartily, as if it was a funny joke.
"Wait. What is that thing he holds right now?" the skinny one asked, pointing its finger at my knightsword.
"Its a knightsword, you dumbass," the small one replied sarcastically, "this young man wanted us to be dissappear as soon as possible."
"As if he can do such thing to protect himself, he's a coward," the tall one scoffed.
"Oh. What stupid move is he gonna do? Throw his knightsword at us and run like a pathetic loser?" The skinny one teased playfully, while spinning around in the mid air.
"Please," the fat one snorted, a smirk plastered on his face, "how he can do a move if only a single stare can scare the hell the out of him?" then his dull eyes glanced at my direction.
A cold air send shivers down at the back of my spine, while my hands began to shake. I could feel my chest had rise and fall like a roller-coaster, and the beat of my heart raced insanely fast.
Oh. Damn. The fat shadow was definitely right. A single stare could scare the hell out of me.
I began to cry, tears trickled down on my cheeks. My lips are trembling. I don't know what else to do. I was feeling powerless, and I felt both of my knees was about to stumble down on the ground. This is what I feared the most, to be completely alone in the pitch dark.
This moment danger had finally stood before me, waiting for its next attack to get a hold on me. For the shadow humans, I was their easy target.
To be honest, I would like to surrender myself in this difficult quest. I wanted to tell everyone around me. I was a coward to face my stupid fear. Though, I don't deserve this kind of responsibility, like the entire world was depending on me to bring the last light from the darkness.
I wished I could tell my auntie that I couldn't keep my promise to be brave, and be strong enough to be a better man. I wished I could tell her, I failed. I lost my inner confidence to help myself to stand up from my two feet.
Sadly, I couldn't feel her in the mid air. She was no longer in my sight, and like a half me was been drained out.
My thoughts were interrupted when I heard their voices in the both side of my ears, but I was too tired to listen to their verbal comments. So I choose to close my teary eyes. I took a deep sigh, and I prayed that everything would be alright.
Apollo be brave. Conquer it without fear.
Auntie's words had crossed inside my mind. It recalled that it was not too late for me to be brave. If only I wake up the spirit of hope, which was still slumbering inside of me.
I felt my chest began to pound, as the beat of my heart raced fast like a speed car. There's something static inside of me, like it was ready to burst out. Waves of adrenaline rushed quickly into my viens, while I felt the spectacular sensation that enveloped my body.
Both of my hands stopped its shaking, as I started to glow. A blissful sanity showered upon me. Tiny glitters kissed softly my skin with love and hope. My weight felt a little lighter while I breathe in and out.
Everything happened in one flash, and only thing I do was to embrace the power of light within me.
I screamed at the top of my lungs. I could feel the light burst out from my chest. The brightness almost blinded my eyes when I saw the sea of colourful lights floated above into the mid air. Its light gave majestic brightness in the pitch dark.
I smirked when the shadow humans took a back step together, avoiding the light that starts to touch their dark gloomy skins. They couldn't stand a chance against my power. The power of light that was hidden within me.
Tonight. I was the last light. The last person to save the entire world from the dark, and I could bring the light of peacefulness back in the kingdom.
This time. I listened to the beat of my heart. Its never too late for me to be brave.
They all shrieked in horror, while their shadow bodies began to blurr and fade slowly by the sea of light that illuminately touched them with a flammable heat. Different cries of distress was been heard around me but I don't mind, and I don't really care.
What's important was that the glitters of victory exploded in the mid air, giving a sign of relief on my face.
I dropped the knight sword from the both of my hands, and I fell down into the cold ground. Tears began to spill out from my eyes, and I found myself crying in pure joy.
"I finally did it. I defeated them." I whispered.
I breathe heavily after what I had done with the power I used within me. To be honest. It was been exhausting, and its like the half of my energy was been drained out quickly.
Something had caught my attention when I saw my side pocket was glowing with a golden light. I slid my hand inside to grab it and the brightness shone before me.
What I held on my hands was the palace key. The one which Aunt Jonah gave me to keep it safe, and I know this shiny key was my final access to unlock the entrance door of the light kingdom. I needed to protect this thing for all cost, and I had to keep it in my sight.
"I guess I'll take that, thank you very much," a deep voice said before, taking the palace key from my hand.
I gasped. My heart skipped a beat, as the fear began to scatter around inside my system.
No, This couldn't be. The palace key. I had to get it back!
I held my head up high and my eyes both widened in surprise.
A tall shadow human, who wore a commander's hat stood before me. A wicked smile plastered on his annoying face.
"Well. Is it the young man named Apollo. I heard a lot about you. I witnessed how you effortlessly defeated the other shadow humans with your hidden power." he said, playing the palace key on his fingers. "Hmm. Let me guess. Is it your secret weapon to knock the shadow king out from his throne?"
"Yes. I will do whatever it takes to the bring the last light back in this dark place, and I want to get rid all of the annoying smirks out on your stupid faces." I spat those words under my breath heavily.
"I'm impressed at your bravery Apollo." He remarked. His eyes sparkled with interest, as if he was pleased to my response.
"Give me back the palace key. You don't deserve to hold it, and your hands are full dirt of evil." I hissed, while my eyes narrowed angrily.
"My. You have lack of basic manners young man," the shadow commander shook his head in disbelief. "Doesn't your aunt teaches you to be polite from the elders?"
"I only disrespect elders when they are evil and being a bully to others." I answered back. I tried to stand up from my two feet, while I picked up the knight sword on my hands.
"Well. You're a stubborn one." He commented. "What if I don't? What will you do to stop me Apollo?"
"I'll use the power of light against you."
"Oh. What a bold move. I won't do that if I were you." the shadow commander warned icily.
"Why not? Are you afraid of the light?" I questioned him.
"Hmm. No." he frowned, then a mischievous smile curved on his lips. I saw how he slid the palace key from his pocket, and his eyes glanced at my direction. "You have two options. Surrender yourself to us or give us the power of light. If you do any of those, we will release your aunt at the prison cell."
Hell. Those options are so much pain in the ass. There's no way I would surrender myself and give the power of light at the shadow commander. In short, that's a stupid move to make.
"Never. I will do everything to get the palace key from your filthy hands." I gritted my teeth angrily.
"Well. Try your best shot Apollo." he smiled amusingly, he glanced over his shoulder, gesturing his hand at the shadow humans behind him.
Damn. There's a whole army of shadow humans stood before me. They are giving me cold stares and wicked smirks on their faces.
I gulped. I held the knight sword tighter on my hands.
Well. Its now or never, I had to get the palace key back as soon as possible.
