Chapter 6

(Important Notice: Beware Of Grammatical Errors)

APOLLO

After I entered inside the light portal. The air began to envelope insanely around my body. Like an adrenaline rush, it went inside my viens, and down to my bloodstream. I felt the waves of excitement inside of me, while my eyes were still closed, I took a deep breath to calm myself down.

I didn't know which place the light portal leads me into, and my wild guess was that things would be a lot worse than I expected to happen.

I felt the entire world stopped before me, as if it was been frozen by time. I could only hear the beat of my heart, it was beating extremely fast, like a car lost its control.

If I was been given a chance to turn the clock and rewind, I would like to bring back the time. The nostalgic moment I had before with my Aunt Jonah beside me.

I desperately needed her guidance because I was feeling hopeless, and I was scared by the fear of being alone.
Well after all, she was my beacon of light and the guardian of my life.

After the bad guys captured her, I felt the bond between the two of us had lost its connection, like the half of me was been drained out, and was been taken away by them.

I tried my best not to let doubts overtake my emotions, and I wouldn't want them drown me under the waters of misery.

I was damn tired of being afraid and weak. This time I had to stand up for myself to face this alone. I hoped my fear would eventually be gone someday.

If I could conceal my heart from bleeding and hurting from the pain what I had been feeling inside.

Maybe I would be strong enough to help myself to be brave.

Maybe I would be fearless.

If I could only wake up my spirit of hope inside of me, which has been sleeping for a long time.

Maybe I could see a light in the path before me, and that light might lead me until the end of this journey.

Though they were like stars, all of them was beyond of my reach. Their bright seemed so far away. All I ever do was to wish that everything would be alright.

I couldn't be brave if I didn't make an action to change myself to be a better human. In short, actions speaks louder than words.

This was reason why the light portal brought me here to challenge myself, and to do this journey independently from my own.

My thoughts drifted away by the wind. When I heard nothing else but silence. I slowly opened my eyes, my face was startled in shock.

Holy shit. Everything around me was pitch dark, and where in the world was I?

I know I was here in the light kingdom, and this is way far from what I really expected.

I couldn't see anything, even my goddamn shadow. I just stood there, dumbfounded.

My phobia started to seep into my bones. It was rattling my fragile insides, as the fear scattered around my system. The feeling I tried to avoid before did made a surprising comeback.

I tried to hold on with my breath, while my hand rested against my chest dramatically. Every second I felt my heartbeat fast like a bolt of lightning. It shook my world into pure chaos.

Oh shit. Oh shit. I mentally cursed.

"Apollo," a deep voice called me out of nowhere.

I was startled in surprise when someone knew my name. I could tell its a old man, since his voice was deep and husky, like he was about to die because of his heavy breathing. But I couldn't see where his voice comes from, since I was surrounded by darkness.

Hell, is this what they called the light kingdom without any freaking lights?

I began to wonder why everything around me was pitch dark. Though the answers were still unknown, and that's for me to find out later.

"I have been expecting you to be here, and I've finally meet you," then the voice went on, "the light kingdom had lost half of its brightness when the shadow king along with his army had entered our territory, and they held the light king captived."

I gasped from the words he said. Its one of the reasons why everything around me was pitch dark.

"They are all inside the palace at this moment as we speak, and I witnessed how the shadow king caged all the villagers inside the huge prison cells somewhere deep in the dungeon of the palace," he said in a sad tone, "the light king wanted to save his people from danger but the shadow king broke the crest of the palace, the one who gives eternal brightness in the entire kingdom."

Whoa. I couldn't believe what I had just heard at this moment, like someone filled up my lungs with waves of sadness, I couldn't breathe properly because of it

Talk about shocking revelation.

"How do you escape then?" I asked him,
"and what exactly are you?" I later added with curiosity.

"I'm a magic sorcerer," he replied, "after they broke the crest, half of my powers was been drained out because of it, I still manage to escape by the use of my remaining strength. I casted a spell as I  concealed myself with invisibility, and I deeply apologise for not giving you some light here in the dark."

My heart skipped a beat when I saw something bright before me. It glowed with pure light. It slowly formed into a fire torch and he handed it over to me, as I felt the heat began to warm on my hands.

I was startled in surprise when the face of the magic sorcerer came into my view. His clothes were ripped and was been covered with dirt. I noticed his skin are full of scars and bruises, like someone had punched him really hard.

"Apollo, by the staring at your eyes, I can feel a powerful energy within you," the magic sorcerer started, "somewhere deep inside of your heart, I can sense the brightness of hope and bravery, and the portal had led you to your destiny to save the world from the dark."

"Wait. Save the entire world?" I questioned him, confusion was written all over my face.

"Precisely," he nodded, like he was pleased at my response, "Apollo, I have a vision about you from the future, you will be a hero, and you will conquer the darkness without any fear,"

I pointed at myself with an innocent expression plastered on my face. "Me? A hero? You must be joking right?" I laughed then my face became dead serious "I don't want to rain on your parade, but to be honest, I have a phobia of the dark, and how was that possible?"

"Like what I had said earlier, somewhere deep inside of your heart, I can sense the brightness of hope and bravery within you."

I wanted to slap myself, as if this moment was a part of my dreams, a fragment of my imagination, but when I pinched my skin, I bit my lower lip and I felt the slight pain.

Ok. This is real. So freaking real.

"Apollo, does Jonah rings a bell on your mind?"

"She was my aunt and what about her?"

"Sad to say, before I escape I saw she was being held captive by two guys who all wore black regalia, and she was been dragged inside the prison cell somewhere near the front of the throne on where the shadow king sits as we speak." he answered.

"That's terrible. I must save my aunt, and she was my life guardian ever since I was kid," I stammered, tears started to trickle down on my face.

"Speaking of guardian. Apollo, do you have the palace key?" the magic sorcerer asked me.

"Yes."

"Can you show me then?"

I took a deep breath, as my other hand pulled out the palace key from my side pocket. It was still glowing with a gold of light. It almost blinded my eyes with its brightness.

"The palace key," he almost said in a whisper, "did your aunt gave you the key? did she Apollo?"

"Yeah, it's kinda weird because she gave me this palace key to some logical reason," I bowed my head down, as the light greeted me with its brightness.

"Apollo, your aunt have her reasons to entrust you to keep the key safe away from the shadow king, though it was your only access to get inside the palace."

I don't know where to begin with, this is hard than I expected to be. Me, being the hero to fight and to defend the light kingdom from the hands of the shadow king, like the entire world was depending on me, to save them from the darkness and to defeat the evil without any fear.

"Apollo this is the start of your quest as a  hero," he began. "this is also the beginning on where you need to be brave to face the darkness alone."

"Alone?" I asked him with my eyes are widened in surprise.

I saw the magic sorcerer nodded at me with a smile on his face. Then he pointed his forefinger towards the fire torch.

The next scene made my jaw dropped open in pure shock.

The fire torch which I held on my hands formed into a sword. A goddamn sword.
