APOLLO
"Apollo. I am the guardian of this key. It can unlock the entrance door of the light palace."
Those words came out from her lips and, it was enough for me to be blown away by the air of silence, while, my mouth was agape in surprise. At that moment, I don't know what else to say to her. It seemed my words were stuck at the back of my throat.
My heart stopped its beating, as if my lungs were filled with waves and I couldn't breathe.
Heavy raindrops from above continued to pour down at my face along with the flooded tears that spilled out from my eyes.
After all this time. My Aunt Jonah was my true beacon of light. She was my illumination everytime, I felt the strong bond between us. The power of love that comes from her jolly heart was my life energy.
My aunt stood up as my guardian until I became a young adult. I didn't expect she could be more than that. She was the guardian of the palace key. One of the protectors of the light kingdom.
I didn't waste another second. I took a deep breath, mustering all the strength. before I stare at her tired face.
"Auntie why didn't you tell me all of this before? Why did you hide this secret from me a very long time?" I gritted my teeth in anger.
To be honest. I deserve to know the truth and I couldn't believe my beloved aunt
didn't open up a story to me before about her being the guardian of the palace key.
"Apollo dear. I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to hide it from you! I swear!" Aunt Jonah sobbed into tears, "I didn't tell you before because they might come back again and they will take you away from me so I decided not to tell you."
"Auntie. You made me look like a fool! A freaking fool!" I exclaimed, tears stung at my eyes.
"I know dear its my freaking fault. I'm deeply sorry." She held my hand tighly and I could feel she was pleading for an apology. "I didn't expect this things would be worse and I don't know how they found a trace that led to us."
"The palace key. How long did you keep it?" I questioned her with curiosity.
"Since before I had been tasked by the light king to hide the palace key away, and to keep it safe from the people who wanted to touch and own it as theirs." she started to explain it slowly, "this key is extremely precious and I will protect it even if it costs my life."
She took my hand and placed the palace key on it. I looked at her with a frown.
"Why you did gave me this? I thought this key was precious to you auntie?" I asked her.
"Apollo dear. I believe you deserve this thing than me and I have a feeling that you're going use this in the future." She stared at me with determination.
My eyes landed at the shiny key. I saw how it glows brightly on my hand. I felt the light energy that surrounds it, giving me a strength of hope and bravery.
I closed my eyes and took deep a breath.
Tears continue to stream down in my tired face and I couldn't believe that she is giving me this palace key.
"Apollo always remember that you are never alone in the dark. Somewhere deep in your heart. There's a spirit of hope sleeping within you. You have to wake it up to be brave and maybe someday you will conquer it without fear." My auntie said to me. She leaned over in my chest and gave me a warm hug.
"Thank you auntie and I will keep that in mind." I smiled in tears.
We stayed at the position for a minute. Every second I felt our heart beats the same. I never knew that moment would be the last sight of seeing my auntie alive.
Then the black car suddenly floated above us. We both awed in surprise by its movement. The next scene made my jaw literally dropped open.
There were five guys who were all wore black regalia stood in front of us. I felt their menacing stares left an electric of shock on our terrified faces.
I saw the blond guy who levitated the black car up in the air. He simply gestured his hand to control the car, as it went straight to the concrete wall and to the spot on where my Aunt Jonah and I stood.
I felt my heartbeat raced fast. With all of my strength, I pushed my auntie aside to avoid the car that was about to hit us and we both ended up falling into the cold ground.
The black car made a horrible impact in the concrete wall and the bricks flew in different directions like there was a bomb explosion.
I covered both of my ears while my eyes are closed. I felt my hands began to shake while my chest weighted heavily by the stone of distress.
The crash didn't last long when I slowly opened my eyes to see a purple barrier from above, blocking all the shattered bricks that tried to break inside.
What's surprised me even more the one who magically created the barrier was no other than my Aunt Jonah.
She saw how my face was stunned by amazement. Though my auntie never fails to impress me.
Well, she is my guardian after all.
"Apollo! Are you alright?" She asked me in a tensed voice.
I nodded silently. No words came out from my mouth and I was flabbergasted.
"These guys are way too powerful. I can't hold the barrier any longer!" She exclaimed. Her breath goes in and out recklessly and she was having a hard time to breathe.
"Auntie. Where in the world did you get your power? I questioned her with pure bewilderment.
Aunt Jonah didn't responded since she was too focus to held the magic barrier under her control. But I could feel she heard what I had said. She glanced back at me and I saw her tears trickled down in her face, any minute she was about to give up.
I saw the five guys who were all wore black regalia are getting nearer at the magic barrier. They all raised their hands into the air. When there's a smoke coming out from their palms and they all aimed to the my auntie's force field.
Her face was mixed with struggle and difficulty while she is screaming on her top of her lungs. Though the source of energy coming from the five bad guys was too powerful than my auntie's power.
I wanted to stand up from my two feet and help my auntie. But I don't had any ability to create a power just like hers.
I bowed my head down while my tears dropped into cold ground. My chest had rise and fall like wild waves, as I couldn't breathe of the mind blowing scene before me.
"Apollo!" My auntie shouted at me to catch my attention.
I jerked my head up and I stared directly to her eyes.
"What is it auntie? Are you having a trouble? I'm sorry. I can't help you by this moment," I nervously replied.
"Dear. Do you know how to run fast?" she asked me.
"Yeah. Why?" I creased my forehead in confusion.
"If I tell you to run. Just run and don't you ever look back," my auntie instructed.
My heart skipped a beat. "No, I won't leave you here alone by these bad guys and I can't afford to lose you!" I shook my head while tears spilled out from my eyes.
"Apollo. Just do what I say, please, its for your own good," she answered with hesitation since it was hard for her to make a decision, like she giving me a chance to escape without her.
"Are you gonna be fine auntie?" I questioned her doubtfully.
"Apollo. I will be fine, always remember what I've say to you, ok?" she said.
"I will and I always love you auntie," I stuttered while tears blurred in my eye sight.
"I love you too. Apollo, be brave," my auntie answered genuinely, she took a deep breath, and for the last time, she smiled at me in tears, "Apollo, run for you life," she later added.
Those final words left a pain in my chest. It weighted a heavy feeling deep inside of me. I wanted to say to her to run away with me but she refused and choose to stay.
My auntie was protecting me from the bad guys and she doing her job as my light guardian.
I swiped my tears away from eyes. I sighed.
I had to be brave. I had to face this alone.
I am Apollo and I need to save my life from danger. I know I could do it.
Darkness was my fear but the light was my life gear and that light was inside of my heart.
I didn't waste another minute as I began to run. My heart beat extremely fast while I was running in the street. The cold air kissed at the back of my neck, giving me a rush of adrenaline.
I stopped running. When someone was screaming from my name behind me.
I turned around and my eyes widened in surprise.
I saw my aunt was captured by the bad guys. She struggled to break free but the two guys held both her of arms tight.
Her eyes went straight to me. "Apollo, don't you just stand there, run!" she shrieked hysterically.
What's surprise me even more was behind them, there was a huge portal that was activated by a guy who held a scythe.
One of them saw me as the other two bad guys was after me. Their stares gave a cold shiver into my spine.
It took me five seconds before I run.
In the quite street, I run fast as I could and I was engulfed by pitch darkness. My heart beat raced fast when I heard them say.
"Let's go after him. He must not go to the light kingdom!" the blond guy said.
I was startled in surprise when the broken lampshades started to float above in the air.
One of them went flying to my direction.
Oh no. I'm doomed.
