It was a rainy day and Cairo was sleeping peacefully in his room, he hated sharing his things With anybody and that includes his room.
"Cairo it's time to pray subh" her irritating voice echoed through his scanty room As always, his room was plain and only had a bed, chair and a punching bag which he would always inflict his pain upon.
"Cairo please get up" she said while opening the window to his room. She stared at the beautiful sight of running water which was coming from the sky, the rain had always been her favorite part of nature.
She stretched her left arm out and water came in contact with it making a smile form at the side of her lips. Cairo who had already woken up from the sound of her voice, stared at her with a very neutral expression. She was oblivious to his stares and still stood beside the window with her left arm still outside the window.
"And why are you standing there?" Cairo's voice jolted her right out of her trance.
"N...nothing" she brought her hand back into the room and placed it by her side.
"Is my bathing water ready?" he asked which got him a negative nod from her.
"what have you been doing since morning, oh lemme guess you've been searching my room for money right?" he paused and stared at her already teary eyes "Tell me, how much did you steal?" he asked bluntly.
"I stole Nothing" she said while wiping her tears.
"Then why were you in my room for so long?" he asked.
"I just got here" she said "I'll prepare your bath now" she added and immediately made her way towards the toilet and Cairo said nothing but watched her as she made her move.
In not less than some minutes, she was out of the bathroom and headed straight to his laundry basket with him still watching her "where are you taking those to?" he asked and she halted in her pace and faced him.
"For washing" she said and continued walking again and he didn't bother her, instead he got up and made his way into the toilet where he bathed and performed wudu.

It was approximately 10:44AM and she stood in the kitchen humming and preparing breakfast for susu and Cairo who was still In his room and reciting the holy Quran as usual.
"Manal where is my boiled egg?" Hadiza stormed into the kitchen dressed in a joggers outfit, she had just returned from the gym.
"Two minutes please" Manal responded while flipping the pancake.
"Haven't I told you countless of times to prepare my egg before I get back?" Hadiza asked angrily making Manal turn towards her direction where she stood.
"You can always boil it yourself if you wish to" Manal responded calmly before turning back to the pancake which had unfortunately turned black.
"What did you say?" Hadiza asked angrily.
"I said, you can always boil it yourself Hadiza. I'm not your wife, I'm Cairo's wife" Manal responded angrily.
"You, my wife?" She heard the deep masculine voice of Cairo from outside the door where he stood angrily. "You are not my wife, you are disgusting" He added. Tears immediately filed her eyes.
"Manal I have warned you several time never to refer yourself as my wife, you are not even my type. I hope you know that?" He asked. She sniffed while looking down to her toes. Hadiza on the other hand was smiling wickedly at her husbands hurtful words to Manal.
"Don't mind her, she keeps forgetting she's illiterate" Hadiza added with a smirk on her face.
"Now make sure that egg is ready in ten minutes, or else I will throw you back on the streets where my late mother found you" He said. Whilst pointing at her with so much hatred in his eyes which she dared never to look into. The only thing she could here how were the footsteps of the two as they both walked away leaving her and Susu who was standing behind the door. Susu immediately walked in and stood before her "Aty Manal, Mumy and Dady made you cry again huh?" Susu asked While hugging her legs.
"No, Aunty Manal is making you Pancakes and has to cut onions. hence, its making me cry" Manal said. She squatted down and hugged Susu calmly.
"I hate seeing you cry" Susu said. "Because I wuv you Aty Manal" The little child added while wiping her tears. It was amazing how this child loved Manal as though Manal was its mother. She smiled "I love you too, My Summaya" She immediately cleaned the tears that threatened to fall.
"Alright come, lets have pancakes" She said to Susu who immediately giggled. She kept Susu on the counter and began feeding her some pancakes, while Susu ate. Manal has put the egg on fire. She didn't want any unnecessary drama to unfold again.
"Aty Manal, Can I drink juice?" She asked Manal. She turned around to see the juice Susu was talking about.
"No Susu, that juice is dangerous to your health" Manal said.
"But Aty Manal I like it" Susu insisted with a pout.
"I'm sorry Susu, you can't have it. Go to Mumy and she'll give you caprisone" Manal said to Susu who immediately cheered up. She was put on the ground and she began to run to her mother. Manal on the other hand remembered the work she had in the backyard and decided to go finish it up.
As Susu stumbled upon the stairs, she remembered her teddy which she had left on the floor while she was trying to pacify Manal. The little child turned around and ran back into the kitchen where she found her teddy laying where she had left it. As soon as she picked it up, her eyes fell upon the drink which Manal had stopped her from drinking, Oh if Manal had known she would have hidden the drink from poor Susu who consumed the Drink in one Gulp. Within a second the poor child fell unconscious.
