Part 5 | Movie Night

Friday rolled around and it was time for practice laps on the track, so of course I went with the Leclerc brothers.

There were lots of talking, meetings and the race itself, I watched from the Ferrari garage. Mattia and Charles had secured me the best seat in the garage

I watched the screen and whenever the cars passed in the pit-lane, I couldn't help but smile as I saw Charles in his own head, he was focused and he did so well.

Whenever I saw Lando on the screen, a smile found it's way to my face. He was good, there's no denying that, I rooted for him silently as I sat in the Ferrari Garage.

Hours later practice were over and the results came in as to who were fastest and did better on the track, Qualifying were tomorrow and I was even more excited for that.

I couldn't wait to see who would start the race on sunday.

When Charles were done with briefing and other things, he came back to the garage and picked me up, Lando and Daniel were behind him as he approached me.

"You ready to go?" Charles asked and I nodded my head. "Good results guys, you're making me proud already" I said and wiped a fake tear away.

Charles snorted and rolled his eyes before walking towards the entrance, Lando and Daniel laughed and the first mentioned swung his arm around my shoulders and walked with me after Charles and Daniel.

"This calls for celebration!" Daniel shouted, I laughed and looked up at Lando who grinned down at me. The spark in his eyes made me look away as it made me blush slightly.

After a long dinner we all went out separate ways to rest for Qualifying tomorrow. Mike had texted me throughout the day and had wanted to get dinner together but I had already made plans with the guys.

I still hadn't caught feelings for Mike, so I think that if they're not there now, they're not going to come.

I should end whatever fling this was.

Once I had showered and gotten ready for bed, I put on a movie and threw myself in my bed.

I watched movies all night, it was one in the morning when my phone buzzed, I picked up my phone and looked at the screen, I had a new text.

Mr. Morris:
Jams, you up?

Jams:
Yes, why are you up this late?

Mr. Morris:
Can't sleep. What are you doing?

Jams:
Watching movies in bed.
You should rest though, Qualifying is today.

Mr. Morris:
Can I join you for movies?

I chuckled and thought for a bit, I shrugged as I thought 'why not'.

Not many minutes later, a knock on my door echoed in the room, I chuckled at how fast he got here and so I got up and made my way to the door.

When I answered I moved aside and Lando walked in with only shorts on and was completely shirtless. I had to look away, then I realized he was holding ice cream in his hands.

"What are we watching?" Lando asked as I closed the door behind him. "Red notice" I said and he smiled at me as I hurried under the warm covers again.

Lando kept his eyes on the screen as he got into my bed on the other side as well, he handed me a spoon and opened the ice cream.

"I've wanted to watch this movie for so long, is it good?" Lando questioned and looked over at me.

I nodded my head and smiled at him as he shared the ice cream with me. "Yeah, Ryan Reynolds is really funny"

On cue Lando began to laugh as another scene between The rock and Ryan flashed across the scene.

"How come you couldn't sleep?" I ask him, I eye him as he tenses a bit and I furrow my brows in confusion.

"I suffer from insomnia, sometimes it's really bad" Lando said and looked into my eyes as he told me. I nodded my head and handed him the ice cream back.

"I'm happy to help then. How long have you been dealing with it?" I ask and he shrugs before thinking.

"Four years I think" He replies after a while and I nod my head to his words once again.

"I'm sorry, with the busy schedule and pressure on getting rest, I can imagine it's hell to deal with that on the side" I say and Lando just gives me a small smile.

"It helps to be with someone when it's like this. Thank you for letting me crash your movie night" Lando said and I smiled at him.

"Of course, that's what friends are for" I said and looked back at the screen.

Lando's eyes studied the side of my face as I watched the movie and chuckled along with it.

When I looked back at him he looked down and then at the tv once again. I chuckled and shook my head slightly as he pretended to have watched it the whole time.

Barely an hour later, soft snores came from Lando and his head rested on my shoulder, he had fallen asleep hard and deeply.

He was no use to move, when his head had fallen onto my shoulder at first, I had begun to run my hand through his hair, the scratches and soft movements apparently sent him into a sense of calmness and relaxation.

I chuckle and watched as he rested, I was happy that he had found some sort of comfort and fallen asleep, if his insomnia had been that bad this night, I was happy to help him.

The movie finished and I quietly turned off the tv and so I had to deal with Lando laying on me and me trying to get comfortable to sleep.

It was hard since his body blocked most of my movements and I didn't want to risk waking him up.

Somehow I managed to scoot further down in the bed to be able to lay my head on my pillows, Lando was so far gone that I had succeeded moving around without waking him.

Lando once again laid with his head on my shoulder and his tiny soft snores continued, I began to run my fingers up and down his arm as he slept.

I couldn't help but smile as I heard him snore softly once again, I pulled the covers over both of us and so I attempted to fall asleep on my own.

Though as soon as I tried I succeeded, I had turned a little onto my side, which Lando subconsciously followed. His bare chest was pressed up against my back and his arm snuck around my waist as he buried his head in my neck.

A long inhale followed by a relaxed exhale filled my ears as Lando settled into the new position, I slowly drifted away—an odd sense of comfort and warmth filled me as I let sleep take over me.

A trace of a smile were on my lips when I fell asleep.
