-2005 Snowy Peaks Lodge -

"Hi! Wanna play?" A little boy asks. I nod and run after him. He runs under a table holding the tablecloth up for me. I climb under and giggle as he drops the tablecloth to cover us.

"How old are you?" He asks getting close to my face.

I giggle again. "I'm six, what about you?" I say trying to hold in my laugh because he was making a funny face.

He gasps. "ME TOO!" He yells before covering his mouth. "Oops." He giggles.

"Do you want to colour?" I ask holding up a travel colouring book and some pencils. He nods and lays on his stomach as I open the book. I lay down next to him and spilled some of the pencils in front of us.

We colour and laugh until a blonde lady pokes her head under the table. She's knelt down holding her belly. "Come on honey. We're getting dinner now." She says before standing back up.

"Ok!" the boy says climbing out from under the table. He turns around and waves at me. I crawl out enough to wave him goodbye, watching him walk to his big family. Someone picks him up and they walk out of the common lounge area.

I pack up my stuff and find my parents chatting at the coffee table. "Hey, where'd your friend go?" They ask.

"He went to dinner." I say puffing, placing my stuff on the table.

*Next day.*

I sit by the fireplace drawing when I hear a heavy thud behind me. "Ow!" I hear as I turn around to find the boy from yesterday.

"Are you ok?" I ask worried as I stand up to help him.

He nods aggressively. I see tears well up in his eyes but he doesn't cry.  He takes a deep breath. "You're here again!" He says excitedly.

"Yeah! I'm here for Christmas. Did you know there's gonna be a party?" I say getting just as excited.

"Yes! We're going too! My family... Oh, I'll point them out to you." He says before looking around. He finds the lady from yesterday, she's sitting with two men, one around her age and a young man. "That's my mom, dad and biggest brother."

A young lady walks up to them holding a baby and giving them to the mom. "And that's my biggest brother's girlfriend..." He screws his face up at that.

"And she was holding my littlest brother, he's a baby." He says, just as a toddler runs around the table to the young lady. "That's my other younger brother, he's loud but that's because he's a toddler. I'm their big brother." He says proudly.

He looks around some more and finds 3 more kids looking out the window. "Ah, and they're my older siblings. Two big brothers and a sister. She's bossy because she's the oldest when my biggest brother isn't around. But she's nice." He says thinking for a second.

He looks back over to his parents. "And mom has another baby in her belly. She has so many kids, why do we need another one?" He says looking over at me.

I blink at him for a few seconds before shrugging. "Do you wanna play?" I say.

"Yeah! Let's play chase, we can ask my siblings to play too." He says grabbing my hand and pulling me over. "Do you guys wanna play chase with us?"

They look over at us. "Uh-huh." The youngest nods. The other two look at each other before shrugging. "Why not?" The girl asks.

We run around the lounge area laughing and chasing each other. "Darling, it's time to go!" I hear my mum call.

I pause. "But we're playing!" I say.

"Yes, but we already had plans." She says picking up my stuff.

I sigh and turn to the kids. "I gotta go, sorry. But you'll be at the party tomorrow right?" I ask and they nod. I wave goodbye and happily run after my parents.

"So, are you two in love?" I hear the boy's sister ask him. I turn and see him blush.

*The next day*

I walk into the hall area and look around there are tables full of food and places to sit everywhere. I notice the boy and run up and hug him.

He hugs me back. "Yay!" We both cheer. "Come on let's go get some food." He says pulling me to a table we grab a handful before climbing under another table.

We shove pretzel sticks in our mouths and pretend to be walruses and vampires. We laugh uncontrollably and as we begin to calm down I accidentally blurt out, "I love you!" I slam my hand over my mouth.

He freezes and blinks at me. I take a deep breath. "Do, do you love me too?" I ask nervously.

He nods wildly. "Yes, forever and ever." He says smiling.

I hug him and smile at him before I gasp noticing something. I grab his hand and drag him out from under the table before stopping and looking up. "Mistletoe! Let's kiss, it's tradition!" I say excited.

He pulls back trying to take his hand back. "Ew!!! No, I was only pretending to love you. Kissing is gross!" He says scrunching up his face.

I gasp as tears begin to form. I look at him hurt before running away crying. He chases after me. "Hey! Wait, what's wrong?" He asks.

"Go away! I don't want to speak to you ever again. Meanie!" I yell at him and run to my parents.

*After a week*

After a week of ignoring and avoiding the little boy I once called a friend, it was time for my family to leave.

"(Y/N) have you got everything?" My dad asks as we're about to leave our room. I nod and follow him out into the lobby.

A boy runs past before stopping. 'Oh, it's him' I huff and turn away from him. He sadly begins to walk away. I turn back and watch him. I pout and sigh.

"Goodbye!" I whisper.

This has pacing issues and I know that but I'm trying to get this out as fast as I can. Also I was trying to write like 6 year Olds would talk.
