The Moviestar and the Maid

"According to Greek mythology, humans were originally created with four arms, four legs and a head with two faces. Fearing their power, Zeus split them into two separate beings, condemning them to spend their lives in search for the other half." -Plato's The Symposium

Luke Hemmings is a rich movie star. He's away from home a lot so he hires a maid to cook and clean for him while he's gone.

Ashton Irwin is his maid. The two hit it off really well. Really really well.

In fact, you could even say they are each others halfs.

(XD alright, ashton wears a maids outfit in this, y'all can thank Buteras-flowers for the idea and awkwardlashton for the title XD sorry for forgetting ♥)

---------------------------------------------

Once upon a time...

Ding dong!

Luke hurried down the hall to answer the door. He opened it and a curly haired boy beamed up at him. Luke noticed he had cute little dimples.

"Hi! I'm Ashton, you called me a few days ago about the maid position?"

"Oh, I didn't know you were a boy." Luke said as he let the boy in. "We have a slight issue with the wardrobe now."

"What?" Ashton asked. "What implied I'm a girl?"

Luke shrugged. "Ashton is a boys and girls name, my cousin is named Ashton and she's a girl."

"Excuse you, you're dissing my manhood. And wait again, there's a wardrobe for this?" Ashton asked, setting his bags down.

"Well duh! This is a maid's job! You didn't expect to be cleaning my house in regular clothes did you?" Luke exclaimed.

"...No." Ashton lied.

Luke sighed. "Let me show you around. You can set your bags in the guest room." Ashton picked up his things and followed Luke to the guest rooms.

"This place is so big." Ashton admired his surroundings as they walked. "Do I really need to clean it everyday?"

"Not all of it everyday, just keep it nice mostly. And clean up after parties, speaking of, you'll be catering for those too. And cooking. You said you can cook right? Three meals a day?"

"Uh, yeah, but why are you hiring one person to do all of this?" Ashton asked as they stopped in front of the guest room.

"I don't like having a bunch of strangers in my house. One maid and one chauffeur, butler, gardener and tailor is enough." Luke opened the door and they walked into the room.

"Okay, so what do I wear then?" Ashton asked, setting his bags on the bed.

Luke opened the closet, revealing about a dozen black and white maids outfits for girls.

"Obviously I'll have my tailor work on new outfits for you, but you can just wear these until those are done."

"I'm not wearing those!" Ashton exclaimed, blushing as he looked at the outfits.

"Why not?" Luke asked. "It's not like anyone will see you. I'm hardly home and the butler and gardener won't care. Tell them you're a cross dresser." Luke said, fighting a smile.

"Why can't I just wear normal clothes?" Ashton whined.

"You want the cleaning chemicals and food stains to ruin them?" Luke asked, raising an eyebrow.

Ashton sighed. "No, I packed all my favorites."

"Well alrighty then." Luke shut the closet door and walked up to his new maid. "Hey, for the record, I think you would look super cute in a maids outfit." He winked.

Ashton rolled his eyes. "Great, 'cause super cute is what I was going for."

"Well babe, you got super cute dimples, super cute glasses, and super cute wavy hair. It's not like you could have gone for manly." Luke grinned.

Ashton glared at Luke and blushed at the same time. "Stop dissing my manly ness!"

"Sorry. You do have really muscular arms though, I'm jealous." Luke complimented.

"Are we done playing 'Flirt with the Maid'? 'Cause I'm hungry." Ashton whined, looking at the floor in embarrassment.

"Yeah okay, I'll give you a tour of the house then you can cook us dinner. I got to leave early tomorrow for a photo shoot so you don't have to make me any breakfast." Luke said as they walked down the marble halls.

"The maids apparel comes with an apron so don't worry about making a mess. Here's the pantry, fridge, stove blah blah blah, you can figure it out. My rooms on the third floor, bathrooms are on every floor. I'll be in my study while you cook. Any questions?" Luke explained and pointed as they walked through the giant kitchen.

Ashton raised his hand. "Uh, what do I make?"

"Whatever you want. Just, dinner stuff." Luke shrugged.

"Okay." Ashton nodded.

Luke pointed to a device on the wall. "That's the intercom. Call me on that when dinners ready."

"Alright."

Luke left, leaving Ashton to walk around the kitchen in awe.

He went back to his study, shutting the door behind him. He sent a text to his tailor, explaining the wardrobe situation.

His tailor sent a reply, saying the new outfits would be ready in a few weeks.

Luke didn't mind. He thought Ashton was hot, and imagined him to look sexy/adorable in the maids outfit.

He opened his desk drawer and pulled out a script for the movie he was staring in, 500 Years of Winter, a movie about a boyband, where he was the lead singer in the band.

He rehearsed a few of the pages and was memorizing his lines when the intercom crackled and Ashton's voice drifted through the speakers.

"Dinner's ready now Mr. Hemmings."

Luke got up and set the script down.

He went back to the kitchen, where Ashton had set the table and served spaghetti.

"I packed you a breakfast by the way, it's in the fridge for tomorrow." Ashton said softly.

Luke smiled. "That was thoughtful, thank you."

Ashton smiled back and they took their seats around the table.

"Do you have parties often?" Ashton asked as they ate.

"Occasionally. Like I said before, I don't like having lots of people over." Luke responded. "This is very good by the way."

Ashton grinned. "Thank you, it's my favorite to make."

"Do you have lots of cooking experience?" Luke asked.

"I was in college for a few years, studying culinary as my major, so yeah." Ashton took some salad.

"Why did you drop out?" Luke asked.

"To take this job." Ashton replied. "I don't know...I just felt really compelled to get this position."

"Oh." Luke said. "That's strange. I only put the ad up because I had a really weird urge to hire a maid."

"Funny." Ashton commented.

They talked more as they ate. Ashton learned more about the movie star and Luke discovered new things about his new maid.

Ashton cleaned up after them when they finished.

"Goodnight Ashton." Luke smiled.

Ashton looked up at him and smiled back. "Night Mr. Hemmings."

-

The next morning, Ashton rose out of bed sleepily.

He had to start his day early if he was to get the whole house looking nice.

He went to the closet and remembered the wardrobe situation. He pulled an outfit down and studied it. He groaned.

"At least it's in my size."

He got dressed and looked himself over in the bathroom mirror.

It was a black cotton dress and came to a rest mid-thigh. The sleeves were short and a white apron covered the front. It had lace on the edges and was tied in a bow in the back.

He sighed. "Let's get this over with." He skipped the black heels that came with and walked out.

The cleaning supplies were under the sink and he pulled out the window cleaner, deciding to do the windows first.

He was in the middle of doing the large ones in the foyer when a man pushing a lawn mower walked by and spotted him.

Ashton quickly closed the curtains and laughed at the gardeners expression.

After all the windows were cleaned, it was almost noon.

He skipped to the kitchen and started making sandwiches for when Luke came home.

He played the radio while he dusted and vacuumed. He loved music, and was even in a band back at home.

A few hours later, he heard a car pull up and he turned the volume down.

The front door opened. "Ashton? I'm home." Luke called.

"In the kitchen." Ashton called back. He was cleaning the counters from when he had made the sandwiches when Luke entered.

Luke whistled. "I see the outfit fits."

Ashton blushed and threw the towel at him. "Shut up."

Luke laughed and took a sandwich.

"How was work?" Ashton asked.

Luke shrugged. "I got to meet a lot of fans today. That's always fun."

"That's great!" Ashton agreed.

"Yeah, so how did your day go?" Luke asked.

"Fine. I cleaned and cooked, nothing interesting. Although I gave the gardener a show this morning." Ashton giggled at the memory.

Luke looked him over. "I don't pay you for that." Ashton rolled his eyes. "Not that kind of show! What kind of maid do you think I am?"

"A hot one." Luke winked. "You really do look good in that outfit."

"Oh yeah? Maybe you should pay me extra for a show." Ashton teased.

"Mister Irwin, I thought you said you weren't that kind of maid!" Luke fake-gasped.

"I do what I want, I'm punk rock!" Ashton flipped his hair.

"And that outfit really shows it." Luke laughed.

Ashton threw a sandwich at him. "You're just jealous you can't rock it like me."

"No one can rock it like you." Luke grinned. "Maybe I should just cancel the new outfits order."

"Do it and I will flood your house." Ashton glared.

"You're not wearing the hat and heels." Luke tsk'ed. "Those really complete the attire."

"You will never see me wearing those." Ashton shook his head.

"Why not, scared you won't rock them like a punk rocker?" Luke grinned.

"No, I'm just scared you'll have a heart attack when you see how sexy I look in them." Ashton turned around. "I mean, check out my bum in this dress!"

Luke peered over the counter. "I do see, mind if I take a picture?"

Ashton laughed and turned back around. "Not that kind of maid, Mr. Hemmings."

After lunch Luke went back to his office to study and Ashton swept around the house.

The intercom crackled. "Hey Ash, could you come to my study for a moment? I need some help."

Ashton put down the broom and hurried to the study.

"Yes?" He asked.

Luke looked up from his paper. "Could you act out this scene with me? I need someone to practice with."

"Sure." Ashton took the paper and looked it over.

"Wait, this isn't some cliche kissing scene right?" Ashton asked.

Luke laughed. "Well not anymore."

"I could help you with it though, if you're not comfortable with your kissing skills." Ashton teased.

Luke stepped closer. "For the sake of the movie, kiss me Ash."

"Yessir." Ashton leaned forward and their lips connected.

Luke was shocked. Literally.

He jumped back in surprise. His lips were still tingling from the electricity that passed through them from the kiss.

Ashton's eyes were wide. "What was that?"

"Uh, friction from the carpet?" Luke guessed. His heart was racing. He had never felt so...complete after kissing someone before.

"What carpet?" Ashton rolled his eyes. "You have hard wood flooring in here."

"Oh yeah, right." Luke looked down at the floor. "Um, well I don't know. Moisture in the air?"

Ashton laughed. "Whatever, I need to get back to work." He smiled and left.

Luke watched him leave with a faint smile.

-

The next day, Luke had the day off and he spent it tanning by the pool.

"Ashton!" He called, taking off his sunglasses.

"Yeah?" Ashton came out, carrying a tray of drinks.

"Come swim with me!" Luke said, taking a cup.

"I don't have a suit, and I'm supposed to be working." Ashton said.

"You can take a break. And I have one you can borrow." Luke said. "Come to my room."

Ashton followed him into the house and up to his room.

"Here, you can wear this one...and I can wear this one." Luke said, handing Ashton a swimsuit and pulling one out for himself.

"Okay, thanks." Ashton said, going into the bathroom to change.

"Bring out two towels too!" Luke called as he slipped off his clothes.

"'Kay." Ashton replied, opening the door a moment later. He tossed one to Luke and they walked outside.

"Luke." Ashton smiled.

"Yeah?"

"You're peeking."

Luke grinned. "Was it obvious?"

"Very. Race you."

They dropped their towels and ran to the pool, jumping in.

Ashton surfaced and laughed. "I so won." Luke spit out some water. "You so did not!"

"Did too!"

"Did not!"

Ashton ducked under the water and pulled Luke down with him.

Luke opened his eyes underwater and looked at Ashton, who was smiling at him.

Luke swam forward and placed his hands in Ashton's hair, pulling him closer.

They kissed under the water. The bubbles floated to the surface and popped.

Almost a minute later the two boys surfaced, gasping for air.

The gardener looked down at them.

"You boys might wanna get out." The old man said. "It's 115 degrees in that pool."

"Really? How did it get that high?" Luke asked in confusion, checking the pools thermometer. The gardener was right, the mercury was creeping up to 116.

"Don't know, perhaps the sun?"

"Or maybe it was a really hot kiss that spiked the temperature." Ashton winked as he treaded water.

Luke bit his lip. "Why do strange things happen every time we kiss?"

"I have no idea what you're talking about." Ashton floated on his back.

"You haven't noticed?" Luke was surprised.

"Nope." Ashton looked up at him. "Explain."

"Well, the first time we did, there was a shock, and now the pools suddenly 30 degrees hotter after we kissed in it. Don't you think that's a little...strange?"

"I think all those Sci-Fi movies you did are going to your head." Ashton grinned.

"And that ad! I wasn't even going to put one up, and you weren't even gunna drop out of college, and yet we both did. I swear, this isn't a coincidence!" Luke shook his head.

Ashton sighed and grabbed Luke's hand. "Calm down bae, I'm sure it's nothing. Stop freaking out over nothing and swim with me."

Luke looked down at their intwined hands. "Alright. Fine. But I'm not done with this subject!"

They got out and climbed onto the diving board.

"Jump on three!" Ashton shouted. "Two, seven, square root of pi, three!" He shoved Luke in with his free hand and tumbled in after him when Luke yanked him in with their joined hands.

"You do not know how to count." Luke laughed.

"Just wanted to add some suspense." Ashton smiled.

"You're a jerk for pushing me in." Luke pouted. "That hurt my feelings."

"Sorry baby," Ashton flicked Luke's head. "Let's get out now and I'll mix you a drink."

They climbed out and Luke pulled his hand back, pulling Ashton into him.

They toppled over onto the grass.

"Let go of my hand!" Ashton laughed.

"I'm not holding it! Well, I mean I am, but I'm not trying to!" Luke said.

"What are you talking about, just let go." Ashton said. He tried pulling his hand back but it was still wrapped around Luke's.

"Did you pour glue on me?" Luke asked, sitting up and studying their hands.

Ashton rolled his eyes. "Yes Luke. I hid a bottle of glue in my pants and dumped it on us when you weren't looking."

"Well, then what's going on?" Luke struggled to free his hand from Ashton's.

"I don't know! Maybe we should just yank them apart on the count of three?" Ashton asked nervously.

"Okay, ready? Two, seven, square root of pi, three!" Luke shouted.

They pulled their hands back as hard as they could and came apart with a ripping sound. Ashton stumbled back and landed in the pool with a splash.

Luke landed on the grass a few feet away. He got up and studied his hand. It looked normal.

"Ash, you okay?" He called, getting up and running to the pool.

Ashton surfaced. "Yeah, fine. But what was that?"

"Don't know. But I'm going to the library."

-

Ashton opened the door to the library a few minutes later, where Luke was sitting at a desk, piles of books and paper were scattered around him.

"Did you unlock the secrets of the universe yet?" Ashton asked.

"Shut up." Luke muttered. "And actually, I did find something. Come here and look at this."

Ashton walked over and stood behind Luke, peering over his shoulder.

"Read this." Luke pointed to a passage of a book.

"According to Greek mythology, humans were originally created with four arms, four legs and a head with two faces. Fearing their power, Zeus split them into two separate beings, condemning them to spend their lives in search for the other half." (Plato's The Symposium) Ashton read out loud. He looked at Luke quizzically. "Yea? What about this?"

Luke stared at him. "You're kidding right?" He sighed and picked up another book and read out, "Signs of true love, rapid heart beats," Ashton placed his hand over his heart and gasped dramatically, "Sweaty palms," Ashton looked at his hands and wiped them on Luke's shirt, "Intense heat when in contact," Ashton fanned himself while he held onto Luke's shoulder, "And separation issues."

Luke looked up at Ashton. "Stop playing around. Don't you see? Intense heat, that's what happened in the pool! And separation issues, we were stuck together when we held hands."

"So? What does all this mean then smarty pants?" Ashton asked.

"I think...I think we're each other's halves." Luke said seriously.

Ashton laughed. "Luke, that's just a myth! That's why they call it Mythology."

"Really? Then explain the electricity in our first kiss! Explain the ad and you dropping out of college. Explain the heat in the pool and our hands." Luke glared. "You can't. But I can. Ashton I swear, we're each other's halves!"

Ashton shook his head. "No. That's not true. It can't be."

"Why can't it be?"

"Because! Don't you have to love someone in order to be their other half?"

Luke stopped. "A-Ash...are you saying you don't love me?"

Ashton looked at him. "Are you saying you are in love with me?"

"Do you not want me to be?" Luke asked softly.

Ashton sighed. "I don't know! I've only known you for two days! This can't be true love if we hardly know each other!"

"Yes it can be! If it's true love then-"

"I gotta get back to work." Ashton muttered. He turned and left quickly, leaving Luke to watch him leave with heartbroken eyes.

-

Ashton scrubbed the same spot of the bathtub, lost in twisted thoughts.

That's not even possible! Its just a myth! And even if it was, there's no way Luke is my other half. I can't love him-I don't love him!

He sighed and sneezed at the powerful smell of the cleaning liquid. He opened a window to air out the fumes and continued cleaning.

Why can't you love him? Ashton asked himself. What's wrong with loving him?

"Nothing!"

Then why can't you?

"Because....it...it's just to weird."

Why is it weird?

"Because it is! He's...I don't know, different."

How so?

"I don't know, he's just...he just is."

You're being stupid. Go back to him.

"No."

Go. We both know you want to.

Ashton sighed and threw down his rag, getting up. "Fine. These fumes are getting to my head, I swear."

He walked down the long hallway. "Luke?" He called out, looking into the rooms as he passed them. "Lukey? Where are you?"

He checked the library and Luke's office, but he wasn't there.

That left Luke's bedroom.

-

Luke twisted around in his sleep.

He was somewhere dark. No where that could be found on a map, just somewhere dark.

He looked around, heart racing. A figure in white was appearing a few yards away, steadily getting brighter and bigger. An angel.

"Hello?" He called out. He wiped his hands on his skinny jeans. "Ashton? Where are you?"

He wiped sweat off his forehead, wondering why it was so hot in here suddenly.

He felt a tug on his hand. He looked down but nothing was there. He looked back up at the figure.

"Ashton?"

The white angel smiled at him. "Luke."

"Ash? Is that you? Why are you an angel?" Luke asked. Another tug on his sweaty palm. He put his hand in his pocket.

"I'm not an angel silly." The figure laughed. "And neither are you."

"What?" Luke looked down at himself. He was a glowing white too.

He felt a strong tugging on his hand, the invisible force pulling his hand out of his pocket.

Luke watched with fascination as his hand slowly rose up, mirroring the angel's hand in front of him.

Inches away,

So close, Luke could feel heat radiating off the white figure,

Their fingertips brushed.

Luke gasped and woke up, sweat matting his hair down to his forehead. His sheets were thrown around him.

"Luke? Lukey?" Ashton was holding his hand, the light from the hallway silhouetting him in Luke's dark bedroom. "Are you okay? You're all hot."

"Ashton?" Luke rubbed his eyes and sat up.

"Sorry to intrude in your room." Ashton fiddled with the sheets. "And I'm also sorry for what I said in the library. Very sorry."

"It's fine. I'm sorry too."

"For what?" Ashton asked. "I was the rude one!"

"Yeah but I was the forward one."

Ashton smiled and laid beside him. "I've given your idea some thought."

"Yeah?" Luke faced him.

"Yeah. I think...I think I do love you, and was too scared to admit it." Ashton said softly, tracing his fingers across Luke's lips.

"I think I love you too." Luke said, recalling his dream.

"Yeah?" Ashton asked, looking up at him.

"Yeah." Luke smiled.

-

Three years later.

Luke suddenly got up from his seat, much to the confusion of Ashton.

"Babe what are you doing? We're in a fancy restaurant, you can't be on the floor!" Ashton giggled.

Luke reached into his back pocket and pulled out a small velvet box. He kneeled on the floor in front of Ashton, who had very wide eyes.

"I know but, I have to ask you something." Luke stared up at Ashton. "Ash, everyday since I met you, I've only fallen more and more in love with you. I can't wait any longer to spend the rest of my life with you so," He opened the box, revealing a glittering diamond ring. "Ashton Fletcher Irwin, will you be my other half and marry me?"

Ashton was crying. He reached his hands out and grabbed Luke into a hug.

"Yes, yes, a million times yes!" He cried into Luke's shoulder as the people around them clapped from their tables.

Luke was beaming brightly. He slid the ring onto Ashton's finger. It fit perfectly.

And that was how Luke Robert Hemmings and Ashton Fletcher Irwin found their other halves.

The End.
