Well, I'm bored. *gasp*, I'll write a chapter in my Lapidot book! Oh, except I have no ideas. TIME TO WRITE A CHAPTER!

On their way to Homeworld, Peridot sat in the control room with Jasper watching over her shoulder. Peridot sighed as she slowly tapped buttons on the control bridge.

Jasper turned Peridot's chair around, taking Peridot's little focus off the controls and onto Jasper.

"Go check on the prisoners. I'll control the ship, since your doing a terrible job at it. For a Peridot..."

Peridot scoffs, and gets up from the chair, and walks out into the hall.

She sighs as she passes a few cells all with prisoners in them. A pearl, an amethyst, and a "steven," unconscious, a ruby and a sapphire poofed, and a lapis lazuli... crying.

Lapis heard footsteps coming near her, and looked up, wiping her tears.

"Oh. Peridot," She sniffed, "What do you want?"

"I just came here to check on you."

"Hmph."

Peridot stood there, watching as Lapis quickly tucked her head into her arms and continued crying.

"Why are you crying?"

"Why do you care!"

Peridot slowly walked closer to the cell and sat against the wall. She didn't know why she cared, she shouldn't have cared. This gem is just a prisoner, she shouldn't matter. The only thing Peridot would need her for was information. Instead she's actually feeling bad for her.

"I'll ask again: Why are you crying?"

Lapis sighed, "I don't know..." She cried a lifted her head, "I'm just... Tired of being a prisoner! I want to be free. I'm always trapped. I don't have free will. I'm tired of it... I hate it!" She slammed her fist on the cell wall, emitting a loud bang. She let her arm fall back down and cried even more.

"Look, Lazuli. I don't like imprisoning people here, but I must stay loyal to My Diamond, if My Diamond feels she cannot trust me, there will be consequences."

"You're following orders, I get it! But aren't you tired of following orders?! Being told what to do, what to say, where to go... You never get to do what you want. Don't you... Don't you want to feel freedom? Just for a second... Don't you want to do what you want?"

Peridot froze. She never thought about it. How much she was ordered around, how she worked so hard to follow orders, when she never took the time to think about what she might've wanted to do.

She smiled. "Lazuli, I really don't like seeing you in here. But please understand, I'm doing this for your safety; if Jasper saw you out, or if Yellow Diamond heard you somehow broke out of your cell, you will be shattered."

Lapis nodded.

"I know it sucks to be in there, hah. But if you do everything they say, they might go easy on you. So if anyone tries to break you out, say 'no'."

"Okay... Okay."

Peridot outstretched her hand, and hovered it above the yellow field. Lapis nodded and hovered her hand over the field, in front of Peridot's.

"Thanks, Peridot."

They locked their gaze onto each other.

Peridot felt like there was a spark. A spark between them, once they locked eyes. Like there was something they had together; it's never been there before... Was this normal?

"PERIDOT!"

Jasper's loud and menacing voice called from the control room.

"Ugh. Gotta go."

Lapis waved as Peridot stood up and walked back down the hall.

"Bye."

"...Bye, Lapis."
