When I woke up, I remembered last night clearly.

I got up with a smile and showered. Then I got dressed in a Redbull jersey with the number 33 on the back and black jeans.

I knocked on Max' door on the way down and Kelley opened, she held her head in pain and I couldn't help but laugh at her.

"Morning beautiful" I sing and pass her.

"I hate you, I don't know how you proceed to get me every time" Kelley groans and walk slowly behind me.

"Max, this might be the first time I'm actually ready before you" I comment as I see my brother pull his shirt over his head.

"It's your fault. I had to take care of mrs. I'm-so-drunk-everything-is-moving over there" Max commented and I chuckled.

"You're welcome" I say and wink before throwing myself on the couch.

"Nat, can we make a deal?" Max asked and sat beside me and I turned to him interested.

"Please, don't do any funny business with any of my mates" Max said in all seriousness.

"Max, I'm not gonna. I'm not dating" I remind him and he nods.

"I saw how Pierre and George were around you last night, they would do it. So, I need to know that you will stop any funny business, if they try" Max said and I nodded.

I understood. "Don't worry" I say assuring him.

"Are we leaving soon?" I ask and Max nods before getting up with a sigh.

"I swear I'm going to die" Kelley whined as I hooked my arm with hers before pulling her out their room and down to breakfast.

"Get a mimosa and you will be fine" I say with a wink. "No!" Max hurriedly blurts out.

Then smiles to hide his desperation to keep Kelley away from my good ideas.

"You're so boring" I comment and Kelley laughs.

We sit down at a big table where Charles and Charlotte are already sitting. Charlotte looked no better than Kelley.

"You..." Charles said and glared at me. I faked my surprise. "Well, what did I do?" I ask in a high voice.

"You just wait for the party tonight. We're all ganging up on you" Charles tells me and I laugh before blowing Charlotte a kiss.

She laughs a little, before eating her food.

"Don't be so serious, nobody died, right?" I say and then Pierre, George, Lewis and Lando sit down at the table.

Lando next to me, Pierre in of me and George next to Pierre.

"Good morning, boys" I say cheerily and the others groan in response.

"See what you did" Charles whines and I laugh, before going to get some breakfast at the buffet.

When we have all eaten we drive to the track, when Kelley, Max and I sit in his private room as he gets ready, I take this oppertunity to tell them my decision with rally.

"I actually need to tell you something" I say and fold my hands in front of me.

Kelley and Max look at each other with a look. "Are you pregnant?" Max asks and Kelley eyes me.

"What? No!" I say shocked.

"Why would you think that?" I ask. "You're swimming in dicks honey" Kelley says and I burst out laughing at Max' horrified face.

"But in all seriousness, it's going to be announced in 8 days. So I need to tell you" I say and Max raises an eyebrow. I suddenly grow nervous, I know how he feels about it.

"I have signed a contract with the Redbull Rally crew. First race is in 10 days" I say and wait for the outburst.

"Oh my god!" "WHAT?" Both Kelley and Max blurt out.

Max' face turn in what looks like anger and panic. "Why?" Max asks, but Kelley is cheering, but as she sees Max' face she stops.

"Because, I'm cleared to drive rally again, I got a great oppertunity too, I couldn't say no" I tell Max.

"You nearly died last time, Nat" Max says in a warning tone. My face hardens. I would never live that down apparently.

"The contract is signed. I'm doing it" I say and Max raises from his seat and fronts me.

As he's much bigger and taller than me, I try not to get intimidated by him and stand my ground.

"I'm not going to the hospital again. I'm not getting that call again. Think about what he will do when he hears about it. He will be on your ass as soon as it's announced" Max says and I shake my head.

"I'm here for you, I was there for your crashes, and I'm still here today. I thought you of all people would understand why I'm going back" I say feeling truly hurt.

"Why would I understand your desire to kill yourself?" Max spits. My face hardens and I clench my jaw.

"I'm gonna leave now, let me know when you're not gonna be a major asshole to me" I say and push Max back to create space.

"Yeah, that's gonna take a while" Max says. "Guys, calm down" Kelley tries, but I leave his room. Max throws his cap at the door as I close it behind me.

As I look up I see multiple engineers look at me in shock. "What?" I spit and they hurry back to work.

Christian Horner walks up to me and greets me. I hug him as he bring me into a hug.

"How are you doing kid?" Christian asks me and I fake a smile. "I'm doing great, how are you?" I ask and walk with him on the pit lane.

"It's going good, your brother is one hell of a driver" Christian says with a laugh. I nod with a smile.

"I heard from Scott that you're coming back to Redbull Rally? I gotta say, we're all excited to have two Verstappens under our roof" Christian says and I laugh.

"I can't wait to get out there again" I say and Christian nods.

"It does something to you when you're out there, doesn't it? I love it too" Christian says dreamily.

"It truly does" I say. Christian and I bid goodbye as my phone starts ringing.

It's Victoria.

I answer and fake my happiness. "Hey sis" I cheer.

"Nat, are you at the track with Max?" Victoria asks in a serious tone.

"Yeah, why?" I ask.

"Dad is coming to you guys, if he's not already there he's on his way" Victoria says.

My blood runs cold in my veins and I hang up before running to Max' room.

But when I open the door it's only Kelley in there. "Where's Max?" I ask panicking.

"He's a the conference before the race, why?" Kelley asks confused and stand up to comfort me.

"Jos is coming here, on the track, he's here" I say and Kelley's eyes widen. "Fuck"

"We have to tell him, he has to know. He can't be surprised with it after" I say.

"I will talk to Horner and he will get the message to him" Kelley says. I nod as I feel the need to run and hide.

"I-I have to leave" I say and Kelley grabs my arm. "To another garage?" Kelley asks and I nod.

"Find me at Mercedes" I say and she nods.

I take a Ferrari cap as I pass Ferrari's garage and put it on, I keep my head down and go to greet Lewis and George.

"Hey, guys" I say and look over my shoulder.

"Hey, Nat. What are you doing here?" They ask and I walk further into the garage.

"Can I stay here during the race?" I ask and Lewis notices the distress.

"Of course, whatever you need. Perhaps a better cap" He says and jokes at the end and I release a relieved laugh.

I text Max ' 👀'. He would understand.

I rest in the Mercedes garage and the race starts. I watch the screen and see Max driving. There was no doubt Kelley had gotten the message to him.

He was driving aggressively. More than normal.

"Come on, Max. Focus. He's watching you" I whisper. I find myself praying that he wins.

I watch the screen and focus on what's happening.
I notice he's P2 and Lewis is P1. Charles is P3 and Lando is P4.

I started to really notice Lando's driving. He was actually pretty good.

As Max goes in the pit I see a familiar man stand there. I see Max freeze for a second, but drives on as his tires are changed.

I see Max turn his head to my gaze and he nods. I nod back. We had it under control.
