Under Time
Hey everyone I went to my first party last night! I was so much fun! Yeah I know, I don't get out much, I am not really a social person. I like to stick to my books where they wont judge me and life is so much simpler.
I dedicate this chapter to prettykitty280 !

"Lucy! You and your new partner have to report to Master's tent at camp." Gildarts informed her and Natsu as they were passing the counter.
Lucy paused in her walk as she was informed if this new information, they had just seen them yesterday. Why would they need to see them again?
"Whats that about Luce?" Natsu asked.
"I don't know..."
"Well, we don't want to be late. Come on!" He pulled her forwards.
The walk was silent, long and quite awkward. The whole time Lucy could think of a reason of why the Master would want to see them, she discarded all the obvious reasons. Killing, disobeying one of the five rules or angering any of the council members. None of these were possible, but she kept running them threw her head trying to come up with a suitable reason.
"The sun is coming up again!" Natsu admired the rising of the sun against the cloudless sky.
"How you can find beauty in every single thing, amazes me." Lucy sighed.
He turned to her, smiling with pride at her comment. But it was true, he always seemed to find something good about everything. In the phrase "every cloud has a silver lining" his would be "every where you look there is even a speck of good".
Not minding Natsu's childish attitude about everything, as he wonder about the sun. Lucy walked forwards slowly, not paying attention to anything else. The point had her whole attention when a pain filled her forehead. Clutching her head she looked up to see she had ran straight into a tree without realizing.
"You should watch where your going." Natsu stated flatly.
"I know, but this calling from the master really has my worried." She admitted.
"Im sure it just a check to see how we are doing." Natsu smiled.
This didn't help Lucy's get any better.
"Natsu, we just saw him yesterday."
"We did?" He starred a confused look to the sky.
"Yes, the elderly man in the tent?" She tried to reinforce him memory.
"Oh yeah! Gramps!" He exclaimed cheerfully.
"Don't call him that you idiot! He is the most respected men on campus, if you anger him..." She faltered, remembering the last time.
"No problem Luce, we'll be fine." He ruffled her hair.
Lucy stood there annoyed at his last action, but could stay mad long because he gave her that smile that made her heart pound. As they continued their morning walk to the fields, things slowly became more cheerful. It wasn't long before they reached their destination with glee in their hearts and smiles covering their dirty faces.
They waltzed threw the jumble of tents towards the Masters tent, where they had been the day before. The old man sat at his rickety wooden desk reading papers.
"Good morning Master." Lucy gave him a small bow trying to polite.
"Please, stop being so formal." He greeted with broad smile.
"You summoned us?"
"Yes, I did." Gramps stood from his place and sat on the edge of the table, this being a more acceptable height. "Lucy, have you heard of the Under Time rule?"
Lucy stopped, shaking her head.
"The Under Time rule is used mostly for groups with especially high numbers. The Council times each battle to see how long each takes to complete, we don't usually tell anyone this so they don't become pressured. There is a certain time that each battle has to take place in, most battles finish in this time period. But a few slip threw, these are the Time rules. If a battle is completed below the time limit, this means that particular group is too advanced for the pair they had before, so they get bumped higher. Same goes for the over time, except the partners will be sent down for easier battles."
"Gramps, what does this have to do with us?!" Natsu complained.
"You two completed your battle far under time, this means from now on your battles with be even harder and stronger. So give it all you've got!"
Lucy next to him gasped, he couldn't tell if it was in shock at their progress or fear.
"Well thats great! Now we can go all out!" Natsu gave a fist-bump to an invisible person in the air above him.
"Thank you Master, we must get to our field now." Lucy bowed again, not looking up from the ground. She grabbed Natsu's wrist and dragged him out of the tent, away from the village of canopy's and all the hustle bustle.
"Hey, Luce whats wrong?" He asked stopping her.
"Im sorry, I guess Im just scared. I have never done any this big before, I have always been a low number with solo battles. Im just not used to this." She sighed.
"Theres no need to be scared, you've got me remember?"
Giggling slightly, she nodded.
"Right, I'll always have my dragon to protect me."
"So what field are we today?"
"Oh, yeah! I almost forgot, we have to check the board!" Pulling him again back to the tents they approached a large board with names and numbers. A crowd of people surrounded the boar, trying to find their names and where they were fighting.
Lucy stood on the tips of her toes, trying to see the flooded board. She was lucky that her last name started with and 'H' and not a 'X' or 'Z'. Everything was in alphabetical order and if her was high enough she could see her name along with the 'G's' and the 'I's'.
"Field...oh no!" She stopped realized the inevitable.
"What? What is it?"
"Our field is number 782, we are in Parasaph territory. Once the number passes 600 its no longer Fiore."
"So what? Well, beat them no matter where we are!"
"Im just saying we have to be careful, if we loose they can take us." She shook her head in frustration.
"Oh, well. Looks like we got to fight extra hard then."
"Yeah..."
