The Dragon Boy
I wanted to make different genera of books, "Blinded by Love" was romance, "Light of the Dragons" is adventure and this one will be darker. So I hope you like my dark version of a Fairy Tail Fanfic!
I dedicate this chapter to NeonVolts!
Wish me luck!

Lucy just got back from a long day of training. She just wasn't improving, she wouldn't either. Her magic just wasn't that way, no amount of training would make her any stronger. Other people would train an hour and come out looking like they were fit for anything, but her? She could train for months and not get anywhere at all, or come out looking it. Her magic was a Celestial Spirit Mage, it means she summoned spirits from another word to come and help her fight. So the only thing she could train was how strong they were or how much she could endure. Others, could master new spells, new enchantments, or cool techniques. All she could do was get strong physically, which wasn't much.
"Lu-chan!" A voice called her, she turned to see blue hair. This was her best friend she had made here at the fort. Levy, she was shorter than all the other girls her age, but just as sweet.
"Oh, hi Levy. Whats up?" She asked.
"You looked sad, thats all."
"I'm not sad, just thinking is all." Lucy fiddled with her necklace. This necklace was the only thing She had left of her mother, the last gift she had left her before she was taken. It had a small chain with a simple pink polished stone that hung delicately on her chest. She never took it off, her mothers last words to her were.
"We will always be together." And they would be, but she just felt safer with the necklace.
"Isn't today your birthday?" Levy cheered.
"Is it? Whats the date?" Lucy racked through her thoughts.
"Its July 1st. Happy birthday, Lu-chan!" She hugged me.
"So I am 17 now." She sighed, the years weren't getting any shorter, the circumstances not any better. War has still been raging between Fiore and the neighboring kingdom Parasaph. The war has been going on all her life and some of her mothers. This war had lasted 23 long years and still no sign of stopping. All though she still hates this organization of Fairy Tail, she learned that everyone else here is the same as her. Not really wanting to be here at all, taken by force and only wanting freedom from the cold, bitter battle field.
Today was one of Lucy's break days. She gets three of them before she has to back into the heat of battle, or pointless training again for weeks. So she wanted to make it last.
"Oh, Lu-chan! I heard there was a new recruit today." She smiled, but my heart flinched, another poor person taken against their will.
"Come on, he is in the infirmary! Lets go see him!" She grabbed her hand and lead her up the stairs.
In the small room sat a boy he had bright pink hair and dark black eyes. But they weren't cold, they were warm like coal and burned like a hot fire. He wore a black vest that was torn, along with the rest of his clothes and a white scarf with black boxes. He was sitting up in his bed, gazing out the window.
"Hey, Natsu!" Levy waved at the boy.
He looked over, examining them as they approached.
"Natsu, how are you feeling?" She asked.
"Fine." He stated simply. "Who is this?"
"Oh, this is Lucy. She is your new partner from now on." Levy smiled.
"Wait, WHAT?! Levy you didn't tell me this!"
"I didn't? Oops, well...now you know. The Masters orders, since you never really had a partner."
Lucy sighed at her friends likeness, she was always doing this like this. Lucy has had many a partner, but they all dropped her because she was weaker than them.
"Well, I will leave you two to get to know each other, from now on you will be spending a lot of time together." She exited the infirmary and left us be.
Lucy looked back to Natsu who was looking back at her as well, there was a dead silence. She thought she might as well break it.
"Well, since we are partners now what kind of magic do you have?" She asked.
"Glad you asked, I am a Fire Dragon Slayer!" He slammed his fist in the air.
Confused, she looked at him puzzled, she had never heard of a "dragon slayer" before.
"Oh, its where you are trained by a dragon and learn dragon magic." He smiled, it was a cute smile, childish and pure.
"Thats awesome!" She stood up, leaning over the bed.
"Yeah, I guess it is." He scratched the back of his head. "What about you?"
"Nothing special, just a Celestial Spirit Mage." She sighed.
Now it was his turn to look confused.
"It is where I summon people from a different dimension to help me fight." His eyes lit up.
"Thats cool too! Do have a ninja? Or maybe a type of huge monster!" He spread his arm wide above his head.
"Its now quite like that." A rain drop slid down my fore head. "By the way, why are you in here? In the infirmary I mean."
He pit his arms down and looked at his hands. "I almost forgot. They found me, I resisted, they took me here by force. Thats why I am in the infirmary." Lucy covered her mouth with her hands in shock.
"I'm sorry, I had no idea that they would go to such an extent in gathering wizards." She set her hand on Natsu's shoulder. He lifted his eyes to meet hers, they were filled with sorrow and pain. While hers were filed with understanding and comfort.
"How did you get here?" He asked, the mood turning serious.
"I was also taken, but I was very young. It was a month before I turned six, they took me from my father, I never saw him again." Her head faced the floor.
"I never knew my family. The only father I ever knew was Igneel, the dragon that taught me. He took me in when I was little and I was like a son to him, so thats all I know. But he disappeared one day and I never saw him again either. So really me and you are he same." He smirked.
Lucy couldnt help but smile back at his childishness, maybe this was the start of a good friendship?
