Blade of Sound

I know I am a writer that just seems to draw things out and never has an ending. This can be a good and a bad thing, because I always get long and complicated books, but also people might get lost or confused along the way. So please tell me if you don't understand anything! I will do my best to fix it and help.

I dedicate this chapter to summermia_!

Thanks for all your support!

Zane gazed upon the blonde girl in front of him, although her features were weighed down with hunger she still had an amazing appearance. A girl like her was very hard to find in times like these, most people stopped thinking about their looks and more about food or shelter.

Lucy, on the other hand felt very uncomfortable about the way the man she knew as Zane was staring at her. It was not a friendly look in any means, more of longing or temptation. In a way all she wanted to was to get away from him, then another was slap him upside the head.

She was still lost in thought when suddenly he was he was behind her, she didn't even notice him, he had moved so fast!

"Shall we get started?" Before Lucy could even comprehend his presence he swung his leg around and slammed it straight into Lucy's stomach. She was launched far away hitting the side of a broken building, the wall crumbling on top of her from lack of support.

Natsu called out her name, seeing the attack she had just taken. But he knew fully well that there would be beating far beyond that and they would both have to be strong for what laid ahead. One thing he knew, is that they wouldn't go down without a fight.

Lucy lay there pain from the newly discovered bruises that covered her body, shakily she stood gaining her balance. Pushing the rocks to the side she slowly walked back to Zane, but he was already in front of her.

"I thought we might split up, so no one could get in the way." She examined his fingernails.

Lucy just sneered at his cocky attitude, boy was he going to regret it! Now it was Lucy's turn, she pulled a key from her belt.

"I summon thee, gate of the lion, Leo!" She chanted.

A bright light filled the area, then there stood a tall man wearing a tuxedo, glasses and long spiky bright orange hair.

"Good to see you Lucy."

Lucy nodded and pointed to Zane, Loke noticed the man and looked surprised.

"I can sense a large amount of magical energy coming from him, what are you doing fighting some one like him?"

"I got a new partner." She shrugged.

"I see." Loke pushed up his glasses, looking a bit saddened.

"Are you two done with the chitchat?" Zane yelled.

"Fine. Fine. Come on you punk!" Loke readied his position, but even prepared couldn't prepare him fast enough. Zane came like a bolt of lightning and then he was gone, back where he was standing in the first place.

"Wh-ha..." Loke stood shocked then he gripped his shoulder tightly, red liquid oozing out.

"Loke!" Lucy cried as she ran to him.

"He is fast."

"I think I might play with you for a while." He flipped a blade in his hand.

Natsu was currently starring down the abnormally pale girl in front of him, for a battle she looked pretty happy. She continuously gazed at the sky, sighing with a smile and giggling at who knows what.

"Well, I'm bored. Can we start now?" She asked flatly.

Natsu simply chuckled, he was sitting on the edge of his chair, just edging to fight!

Winter was the first to attack, she didn't run or come at him blindly, but gathered a ball of energy in her palms and shot it directly at him. Natsu jumped out of the way barely in time, the energy ball smashed into a bolder behind where he stood. There was nothing left but dust and crumbled pebbles where that mighty stone once stood. Natsu grimaced at the thought of that being him instead, the ball seemed to consist of electricity, harsh winds and other elements of storms. He concluded immediately that he did not want to be hit with that certain attack.

Winter shoot more and more balls of her blowing blue energy at Natsu, but he continued to maneuver his way around them.

"Stop moving, you are not making an easy target!" She laughed.

Natsu was too concentrated to answer, but he did start making his way up to Winter. He ignited his right fist with bright, hot flames and socked her right in the jaw.

"Fire dragons iron fist!" He yelled as the offense was thrown.

"You...you hit me!" She gently touched the red mark on her face. "No one has ever hit me before, you will pay!"

As she screamed the last few words the sky filled with a dense layer of clouds, thunder and lighting scattered across the horizon.

Natsu felt as though he had just mad a grave mistake.
