"Why did it have to be a train..." Natsu laid sprawled out on the bench in front of her.

"I didn't know something so basic could take out the mighty Salamander!" She teased.

Natsu tried to fight back, but was helpless to do so and went back to cooping with the swirling of his stomach. Lucy, felt bad for the guy, he was a total and complete reck. How could he do this every time he traveled. No wonder he struggled so much and begged her to walk. Purely out of sympathy she strode to his bench, sat down and gently placed his head on her lap. It was going to be a long ride, she might as well comfort him, besides she just wanted him to feel better, that was all.

They couldn't have walked anyway, the only way to the battle filed was by the train and ever since the war started only guild members were allowed to ride. No civilians could ride, they walked, no matter how far the place was. The "peasants" of Fiore were all very poor. All lived in extremely small houses that didn't really serve as a house at all, this was the type of place where she was born. But she was lucky, most have no place at all, at most the clothes on their backs. Guild mages, were treated better, but in a different way they were worse off. They were given food and clothes, but once you are given one pair you keep that same pair for the next two or three years. You were also made to live in the guilds bunkers, which really was one big room for the girls and one for the boys. If you were lucky to get your own room, thats a different story. Lucy had been wearing the same grey clothes for the last year and they were a bit tight. They used to be white, but after this long they turned a whole new color. She also had to mend all the places she had been scraped up, so now the whole thing was a ball of sewing lines and dirt. The skirt was black and now came up to above her knees, but it was same as her shirt. Her boots were worn but, you get shoes more often than clothes, these pair were only a few months old.

Natsu's voice entered her brain as he let out a soft groan, it would seem that he fell asleep. He let out peaceful breaths it made a sort of rhythm, but the warm air tickled her legs. She held in her laughter, but it took all she had to not through him off her lap in a giggle fit.

Lucy had to deal with that extremely annoying and antagonizing ticklish breath for two hours! When the train stopped she finally couldn't take it anymore and pushed Natsu off her lap. Springing up from his collision with the floor he looked around frantically.

"What happened, whats going on?!" Hands ready to hit something.

"Wow, wow slow down there. Everything is fine." She rest her hand on his shoulder.

He looked at her, then relaxed, realizing how stupid that must have looked.

"We...should, just get going." He took her wrist and lead her out of that crazy metal contraption.

Outside of the train was a huge building, much bigger than the guild he had just joined. It was grey and dusty, a walled magic fence surrounded the entire thing as he saw people marching all over the grounds. The sky was ash grey and compared to the land, looked like there hadn't been sun for years.

"Home sweat home." Lucy huffed as she strode towards the great tower.

"What is this place?" Natsu asked in awe.

"This is where we will be staying for the next couple months, it is Fairy Tail's base camp. The one you were taken to was only for those resting or new recruits, which was your case." She passed some guards and showed them her insignia on her hand, Natsu repeated her motion and showed them his shoulder. There rested his red Fairy Tail mark.

The guards opened the gate and let them inside the fence, the whole place looked like an army boot camp, but less nice. As they entered through the giant concrete doors Lucy walked to a man sitting at a sort of desk.

"Gildarts, I got a new partner, so I will be needing two rooms for these next months, please." She asked a big, scruffy man. He wore a cape that covered his whole body, he had dark drown hair, with a little red in it and he was chewing on a twig. Glancing up at Lucy he sighed.

"Sorry, but we cant spare any more rooms, you two will have to share."

"What?! No, I demand two rooms! What is this anyway?" She shrieked, but the man only shrugged his shoulders.

"Masters orders."

Lucy grabbed the room key from the man all while grumbling words that should not be said aloud, Natsu's super hearing allowed him to hear it perfectly, but he wished he hadn't.

Lucy opened a door to revile a room, it was small, but to Natsu it was the fanciest place he had ever seen, he immediately ran and jumped onto the huge bed. It was so fluffy and soft, he hadn't alept in a bed very many times, but now it was going to be for months straight! He was super excited, to sleep. But Lucy looked differently, he examined the room a little more to see that there was only one bed. Where would Lucy sleep, or was Lucy going to kick him out and make him sleep on the floor? No, he wanted to sleep on the bed!

"So where are we sleeping?" Natsu asked hesitantly.

"Well we have no choice. We can take turns using the bed, but if you want it I don't mind sleeping on the floor." She sighed, sadly.

Then a brilliant though came into Natsu's mind.

"Hey, why don't we share the bed?"

Lucy practically choked on her spittle.

"What?! We can't do that, besides I still barely know you..."

"Oh yeah, whats my favorite color?" He quizzed.

Lucy noticed his insignia on his shoulder.

"Red..." She answered warily.

"Whats my favorite food?"

Lucy remembered him eating anything he could get his hands onto, but mostly one type of it.

"Meat."

"Good, now how old am I?"

Lucy also remembered that he said he was eighteen.

"A year older than me, but I don't see-"

"Last question, this will prove that you know me. What do I hate?"

"Being called Pinky, or anything related to your hair. Or insults in general. But Natsu, that doesn't prove anything. I still dont know...where you were born, how you met Igneel and lost of stuff like that. Simple personal questions doesnt prove anything...and what does this have to do with sleeping together?!" She suddenly remembered the real subject at hand.

"Oh, nothing, I wanted to prove you wrong and you were!" He smiled, sitting criss-cross-applesauce on the bed.

Putting her head in her hands she sat at the small table, everything in the room was tiny, to fit in the miniature sized slots. There was one window, a table that Lucy mostly used as a desk, a bathroom and a king sized bed. That was the only normal sized thing, because people aren't that small.

"Well, relax while you can. Tomorrow we have a big day and this may be the last time you see this room, so enjoy it while you can." Lucy sat in the table chair, pulled out a book and started to read.

"What are you doing?" Natsu inquired.

"I am hunting rabbits. Whats it look like I'm doing?!" She said sarcastically.

"Really where, I'll catch 'em!" Natsu looked around wildly, trying to spot the bunnies.

"I was joking, there are no rabbits! Geez." She rolled her eyes.

There was a silence as Lucy read her book again, Natsu just starred at her like he was focusing hard on something.

"How can you just sit there like that doing nothing? Its so boring!" He wined.

"Its not boring, I am having some peace so I can enjoy this book that someone wrote. Think about how much effort went into something like this and most people just don't care!" Lucy waved the the book around. "Believe me it is really hard to take the time to do research, find fancy words, but they cant be too fancy because you want idiots to be able to read your book as well. Also everything has to be very descriptive so the reader can have a perfect picture in their minds of what is in your mind!" Natsu stopped trying to understand what she was talking about.

"Is it bed time yet?" He flopped on the bed, wanting its smooth covers.

Lucy snapped back to reality and saw Natsu on the bed.

"Well it is a big bed, if you stay on your side we can share."

"Yay!" He haulered, pulling Lucy into the bed. He hugged her and held her close to him.

"What are you doing? Did you not hear the rules?!" She wriggled out of his grasp.

"Ha ha, oops." He scratched his head.

"Well if it happens again, this is not happening again." She gestured to the two of them.

"Promise!"

They both took a side of the bed as slowly fell into a deep comforting sleep.
