Time-Stop?
Reader POV
I bade Nozel goodbye and stepped into the room, only to let out a scream.
Instantly, the door burst open and Nozel had his grimoire ready. "Who is it? What is it? Are you okay?"
I started laughing. "I-I'm fine! Noelle, she-" I couldn't stop laughing.
She was sitting on my bed, eating my secret stash of chocolate. "Hi, (y/n)! Hello, Nozel,"
I went over to her after getting a handkerchief that was dipped in water. I cleaned her face. "Silly girl, you've got chocolate all over your face!"
Nozel didn't let his guard down. "Noelle. Go to your room this instant."
"But-"
"No buts." Nozel had a commanding tone. "Now."
The little girl gave me a goodnight hug then ran off to her room down the hallway. Again, I had the same fond look.
"Sorry for scaring you like that," I giggled. I started cleaning up the chocolate wrappers. "I had these perfectly hidden, too..."
Nozel rubbed the back of his hair in embarrassment. "Sorry about that."
You flashed him a grin. "It's fine, Noz."
His face went red. "Noz?"
"A nickname," you explained. "Nah, it's fine, really."
"Allow me to buy you more chocolate then," he said. "I won't allow you to go without chocolate. I know it's your weakness."
I sweatdropped. "I mean...you don't have to-"
"I insist." He was clear that this was the end of the discussion. He came over and brushed some of my hair out of my face. "Goodnight, (y/n). For real this time."
He gave me a kiss on the lips. It seemed he was testing out the waters. When I didn't resist, he kissed me again, but with more passion, arms hugging me closer to him.
He broke the kiss after some time, and stared at me. The look in his eyes could make even the God of Love melt. "Sleep well." The steel mage walked out of the room and closed the door softly.
You collapsed onto your bed, heart pounding furiously.
...
"Ready to go?" Nozel asked the following morning. You were about to set off.
"Noo!! Don't go!" Nebra held onto you like you were the last human.
You hugged her. "I won't be gone too long! We're just going on a quick job!"
Solid ruffled your hair. "Way to get some with Nozel, eh?"
Your faces went red. "E-Excuse me?"
"We saw his lovesick face," Nebra smirked.
Nozel sighed. "It's true. I kissed her goodnight. Is there an issue?"
"N-No!" Both siblings shivered at the look their older brother was giving them.
Out of the corner of your eye, you could see Noelle staring at you. You turned to the little girl, arms open.
She ran into your embrace and you scooped her up. "I'm going to miss you, (y/n)!"
Solid and Nebra rolled their eyes. "Classic,"
"Don't be a hypocrite," Nozel snapped. "You just did the same thing."
Noelle held you tightly. "Sorry I stole your chocolate..."
"It's fine," you grinned. Then you lowered your voice. "Just between you and me, I hid an entire stash in my closet by my shoes,"
Her face lightened up. "Thanks, (y/n)!" She gave you a quick hug. "By the way, you'll make a great mother!"
The other siblings looked at you.
Nebra nudged Nozel. "She's not wrong, brother. You'll make a good father,"
"Aaand we're off!" Nozel's face went red. "Come, (y/n)."
You placed Noelle on the ground and said your final goodbyes to the Silva Family. You hopped onto the broomstick first and Nozel climbed on after you. "See you all in a couple of weeks!"
The broomstick lifted off the ground and you took off. Soon their waving figures became tiny little specks.
Nozel wrapped his arms around your waist tighter.
"What is it?"
He kissed your cheek. "Nothing. Just making sure you don't fall off."
"Okay," you giggled at his odd phrasing. "So, what exactly is our job by the Diamond Kingdom?"
"Helping a young man and woman escape from the Diamond Kingdom. We will be scouting the border in search of them. Then we take out the enemies that are following them."
You nodded. "Good."
..
Nozel POV
We stopped at a local town for a pit stop.
"Hello, there!" A little kid ran up to (y/n) and I.
(y/n) leaned down and smiled at the little boy. "Hello, there!"
The people around started to gather.
"Excuse me, are you magic knights?"
I nodded. (y/n) just stood there. "I am a squad captain of the Silver Eagles. Nozel Silva. This is the Wizard King's daughter, (y/n) Novochrono."
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw two figures hiding in the shadows. I would investigate it.
"(y/n). Go to the tavern and don't leave until I get there."
She did as she was told and I narrowed my gaze at the lingering people. They clicked and followed suit.
"Who goes there?" I called to the forest.
"P-Please, it's us!" Two people. One man, one female.
"Where are you from?" I came closer to them, my grimoire ready. "Why are you here."
They gave the secret code. "The steller novas have called out to the doves this morning."
I lowered my grimoire. "Welcome to the Clover Kingdom. I am Nozel Silva of the Silver Eagles."
...
(y/n) had fallen asleep in the hotel we were staying at. The people were in the adjoining suite. She was sleeping on the bed next to me, occasionally making weird soft sounds.
It was so adorable.
I closed my eyes for a bit, enjoying this. "This is perfect."
Morning came way too soon.
"Noz, Noz!"
My eyes fluttered open, only to see (y/n) above me, her (h/c) hair all messy. "Wassup?"
She slid off the bed. "Get up!"
I then smelled it. "Go get them," I handed her the key to their suite. She led them to a safer area.
"Stay here," she commanded to them. They shook their heads feverishly and pointed shaking fingers to the forest. It was burning.
"Oh my!~" A feral voice shouted. "Lookie what we have here. A pretty girl," The male licked his lips hungrily and then pointed his finger at (y/n). Immediately, she was tied to a tree, her arms cuffed and chains wrapping tightly around her body.
He took one step closer and the chains were destroyed and he fell to the ground, a wound in his throat and (y/n) free and panting, tired.
Reader POV
I activated my spell as soon as he took a step forward.
The birds stopped in mid-air, the fire stopped burning, everyone was still. Except for the feral voice owner and me. It was time-trapper.
I easily split the chains with the water magic, water blade.
"H-How??" The dark-haired mage cried.
I stepped forward. "Don't ever try to attack me, warrior," I used Nirvana against him and he was flushed away, but then came back, riding a flame wave.
"How dare you?!" he screamed. "How dare you attack Lagos!"
I grinned. "How dare you set fire to the forest, you feral man?"
"I should teach you your place, woman!" He screamed.
Fire and water clashed together.
It went on like this for a very long time until I used Water Spear. It sliced through his throat and I resumed time.
He fell to the ground, dead.
Nozel stared at me in shock. "H-How...?"
"Water and time magic," I explained. "I paused time."
"Says it so simply..."
