S3. Winter Night
The girl opened her eyes and watched as the snow slowly fell all around her. It took her a second to remember where she was, and how she got there.
The fight.
Her parents had fought again. She had in all honesty gotten used to it, but it was the last drop which pushed her to her braking point.
A lot had happened that month, a month that started off so well, but ended in tears. Bad grades, fights, lack of motivation, mental illness diagnosis, daily panic attacks, getting ghosted by a loved one, the list went on.
The girl could barely feel her limbs. She had laid there on the side of the gravel road for about twenty minutes. Although, she herself was not aware. The snow started a few minutes ago, it looked colder than it was.
Her petite body was coated in a thin layer of chilly snow which had numbed all the signals in her body. When her system understood what was going on, that she was freezing, her body started a painful shiver.
The girl was somewhat aware of the place she was at. Close to a park, far from home. She fell off her bike which laid a bit in front of her. No one had passed by.
It was quiet.
The girl wanted to stand up, but she could not. The girl wanted to stay down, that she could, and it was enough. At least, she could do that much. Give herself a moment of peace, as she watched the beautiful snow fall amongst all the agony.
She slowly started to be aware of a sharp sensation. Pain. Her leg. The girl glanced down towards the end of her jacket and spotted the ripped jean fabric and almost dried up red liquid. She should probably get that treated. It did not look like it was going to happen any time soon though.
The girl heard a dog barking which automatically made her close her eyes. Dealing with humans and getting help, was not something she had energy to deal with.
"What is it boy?"
The familiar sound of a young man's voice, about her age, was finally heard. The girl started to cry, feeling more pain at the voice which sounded so loud in her head. She cried as she heard quick paced footsteps when he spotted her.
Her name was called, but before he laid his hands on her shoulder to shake her awake, she had already fallen into a deep sleep.

The girl's eyes fluttered open before focusing on the first thing in front of her.
A fireplace.
She heard talking in the other room, the familiar voice from before and an old woman's voice. A woman she also knew fairly well.
The man walked out to check on her when he noticed that she was awake. He told the old woman whom came out if the kitchen with a hot cup of tea, placing it by the couch on which the girl laid. A few words were exchanged of worry and concern, but ended with a simple "I fell off the bike" as an answer.
The woman had called her parents, the girl was going to stay the night.
The man sat sown by the couch on the floor, looking into the fire. They were silent for what felt like an eternity, before he spoke.
"It's a good thing that you didn't die of hypothermia... I was worried."
The girl was quiet for a few moment before her eyes filled yet again with tears.
"Was it really?" She whispered as she sniffled. The man did not give a reply for the first few seconds. He lifted his hand and gently ruffled her hair. He glanced back at her with a soft gaze.
"Of course it was, silly."
