Chapter 2: one-shot ; Rain

Technically it's the next day >:) so here we go. I don't own any characters just the plot. Enjoy!

Rain. He hated rain. It was cold and wet, nothing that went well together. It kinda reminded him of his dad. Gabriel Agreste, father of Adrien Agreste and extremely famous for his company. Thanks to his work he was hardly ever around when Adrien needed him, in fact, although sad, Adrien had become accustomed to his fathers lack of presence. Back to the story... It was a Friday and school had finished. But it was raining. A deep sigh escaped Adrien's lips as he sauntered off into the gloomy shower. No one was able to pick him up today and so he had to walk, thanks to his curse his bad luck had struck again. "The one day I walk it rains" another sigh left his lips as he pulled the straps of his school bag closer. A series of footsteps splashing against the concrete became louder and a faint achoo was heard. The blonde boy turned to be greeted by the one and only Marinette. Her pig tails swung back and forth as she ran and her small button nose slightly pink from the cold weather. "Marinette? What are you doing this way?" "Oh A-Adrien. Hi erm the bakery is this w-way." Over the past week or two marinette had become less of a stuttering mess a snow they were pretty close friends. "Oh yeah" he laughed, scratching the back of his head. "You can come I-if you want?"the idea of sitting down in a warm booth surrounded by the fresh smell of mari's parents baking really appealed to him. "Yes!" It may of came out too quick but he didn't care, it would also get him out the rain. The tinkling of marinettes laugh caused a small sheet of red to work its way onto his cheeks. "Sorry." He concluded. "It's okay, let's go!" And with that she grabbed his hand and pulled him through the drowsy weather.

Once at the bakery the duo stomped their feet and shook their heads to rid them selves of the cold rain. "Usual?" She asked placing her coat on a rack next to the door. "Yeah sure." He repeated the process but instead of waking into the kitchen sat down at their usual booth.

Flashback...

"Chloe! Put it down! Chloe!" Marinettes voice wailed through the corridors. No one seemed to spear them a second glance and that's what annoyed him. In front of him Chloe was currently holding Marinettes design book and ripping pages out stating 'ugly' or 'I wouldn't be caught dead in this'. But this wasn't what pushed him over the edge. Tears. Falling from those sapphire eyes was tears, something Adrien hadn't seen from her before. "Chloe!" He cried as he marched over most people stopped and looked towards his direction. Adrien Agreste was standing up, for Marinette Dupain-Cheng. Her, the girl that could hardly speak in front of the blonde model and seemed to be a continuous klutz. Whispers erupted around the hall as the once peaceful boy stormed his way over to the mayors daughter. "what do you think you are doing?!?" his voice was stern and sent chills down the girls spines. "A-A-Adrien" Chloe said in a nervous laugh. "what are you doing?" this question came as a hiss through her teeth as she strained her eyes and placed a fake smile over her face. "what you're doing is wrong, Chloe." The name was like venom in his mouth and left a horrid taste. He knew she was a b***h but never expected her to drive a nice girl like Marinette to tears. However, the look on Chloe's face was priceless... A glare mixed with surprise, sadness, anger and mostly disgust. "Do you know what? I don't care what look you give me, i can't believe i didn't stand up for Marinette before." while his arms were flailing a small teenager next to him stared up in wonder and shock, a small tint of pink decorating her cheeks. "You're nothing but a bully, a spoiled brat and i don't give a s**t who your father is. It's wrong! To think, you wonder why I don't like you." And with a loud huff the blonde girl stomped off, her fists clenched next to her sides. "T-thank you." The sobs had stopped as soft voice spoke up, his head quickly turned to see her sapphire eyes.

present...

After that Chloe had been taken over by an akuma, which he is proud to say that the duo defeated. He and Marinette became closer, best friends even. They knew each other so well that he was sure he'd recognize her anywhere ((the irony)). Only a couple of weeks into their blooming friendship, Marinette had introduced him to her parents, who had taken an instant liking, and it became a weekly ritual for the two to be seen in a four-seated booth in between a large window and the kitchen door. At times their two other best friends, Alya and Nino, would join them but ever since the two started to date (( i do ship them but not as hardcore as ladynoir, i mean come on... ladynoir!)) visits would become less often and more mushy. In the end Adrien and Marinette wouldn't be able to put up with the constant flirting, complements and kissing... More like full on making out! They would both laugh awkwardly and walk away from the teens in love.

"you okay?" His thoughts were interrupted by a voice he would now anywhere ((yeah right -3-)). Marinette had sat down opposite him now holding a cup of coffee which she slowly took to her lips. Her lips... When did they become so much of an attraction to him. The way they parted slightly as she sipped her coffee. "-drien... Adrien!" Once again the girl snapped him from his thoughts, he was quite relieved about it actually. Lately he had been drawing his attention away from his Ladybug and towards Mari, was he... Was he falling for his best friend? "-ou think?" "huh?" a giggle left it's way from her luscious, pink, soft-NO! "I asked if you were going to Alya's mascaraed 'ball' next week and if you would look at my designs for her dress." he looked down to see the book that originally drew the two together, the careful steaks of pencil that formed what seemed to be Alya's figure weaved in and out as beautiful patterns danced around the page. "You never stop to surprise me, it's great!" He knew that she loved to hear his opinions, even the bad ones, and he loved it. The way she would correct the details he gave instead of biting his head off and throwing a tantrum. By that hardly ever happened, her work was just so perfect.
