The citizens of Paris were so done with Mayor Bourgeois. Heck, 15 people were akumtized because of him. One night at dinner, Tom announced to his wife and daughter that he was going to run for mayor. Marinette was shocked, mostly because she knew Mayor Bourgeois would run and win, but her father explained that this was his last year as mayor. Sabine, however, was so overcome with emotions she announced that she was 2 months pregnant. Marinette was shocked again. She slipped into her room and quickly turned into Ladybug. Cat Noir met her on the Eiffel Tower. "What's wrong Bugaboo?" He asked after another akuma who was angry at the mayor. "Nothing." She said. "I just found out my mom's pregnant, that's all." "Do you have any siblings?" "No, I'm an only child. I'm used to being first in my parents hearts, well after my other parent. What if I'm not first or second, but last entirely." Cat Noir patted her back. "I don't know much about siblings, I'm an only child too. My mom left before she could have more kids." Ladybug patted his back too and swung over to her house and released her transformation. Tikki floated beside her charge and tried to comfort her.

A few months later, Tom won the race for mayor and few months after that, Sabine gave birth to quadruplets, three boys and one girl. After her father won, Chloe started to ramble off all the wonderful things her father had done as mayor that Marinette's father had yet to accomplish. Was she wrong. Tom Dupain went down in history for being the most efficient mayor to date. He was able to be mayor, run a bakery and still have quality family time. Marinette got used to being the oldest, especially since it meant that she got to sleepover at Alya's (Which proves to be problematic when you're Ladybug and you have an akuma to fight and/or a cat to meet on patrol) and got her little sister, Emma, into fashion as well. It wasn't what Marinette was expecting, but it worked out perfectly. (Minus the whole Alya situation)
