Kisses
Day 12! Hope you guys are ready for even more classic Ladynoir. I think the fics where Chat Noir sweeps Ladybug off her feet are one of my favorites, so I'm very happy to write that now. I wrote this at midnight and until two, so if there are a bit more grammatical and spelling mistakes than usual, that's why. Anyways, I hope you enjoy! -Colorado

Chat Noir wasn't exactly sure how he'd gotten himself into this mess. Rationally, he knew exactly what he did to end up here. The things he had said, dared Ladybug to do. Did that mean he understood how it had actually worked? Nope! Never in his wildest dreams did Chat think Ladybug would agree to this.
It had all started when he showed up to patrol. He had been scrolling through the Ladyblog when he was bombarded by photos of his and Ladybug's kiss. He tried not to think about it often, he didn't want to make her uncomfortable. But it was hard knowing there was photographic proof of her loving him the same way he loved her.
But he tried to reason with himself, she didn't know she was kissing him and neither of them remembered the fight. So it was okay! Really! Even if sometimes he wished his memory would come back, that he'd remembered just what happened to make his Lady fall for him.
But then he saw a photo of the kiss she had given him during Dark Cupid. Now that just wasn't fair. The love of his life had kissed him twice and what did he remember from the ordeal? Zilch. Nada. Nothing. And this kiss was even more upsetting in a way, because Ladybug actually remembered this one! Even if she was just saving him, she was still kissing him! And sure, it was before she knew he was in love with her, but it had to count for something, right? So there he was, without the memories of the two times the love of his life kissed him. The only times he'd be kissed. So it was safe to say that when he got to patrol, he was a bit distracted.
"What's on your mind, kitty?" Ladybug asked.
"Why would anything be on my mind, My Lady?" Chat Noir shot back, giving her an innocent grin.
"Yeah, that smile doesn't work on me." She walked over to him, placing a hand on his shoulder. "You just seem more subdued tonight, like something happened today."
"It's really nothing, Bug. Just something that I'm letting bug me more than I should." He shrugged it off and Ladybug gave him one of her famous concerned expressions.
"Do you want to talk about it? Maybe you're not making a big deal out of nothing." She said gently. Chat Noir laughed.
"You wouldn't be saying that if you knew what I was thinking about."
"Oh yeah? Try me." Ladybug crossed her arms, giving him that look of determination he loved so much.
"I saw photographs of the two times you kissed me, and I'm a bit sad I don't remember either of them." He shrugged, sitting down on the rooftop. He heard, more than saw, Ladybug's arms unfold and fall loosely at her side. "See, told you I was making a big deal out of nothing."
"But it's not nothing Chat, not if it's making you upset." She said, sitting down next to him. "I really wish I remembered Oblivio, too. It's been bugging me ever since."
"Ha. Bugging you?" He turned towards her, a satisfied look on his face.
"Oh, wipe that grin off, kitty," she grumbled.
"But yes, bugging me. Neither of us have any idea what happened and it's clear that our amnesiac selves were more than happy to kiss. It's not like I was saving you from an akuma like with Dark Cupid."
"That's the other thing," Chat Noir muttered. "I can live with not remembering Oblivio. Will it bug me for all time? Yes. But neither of us remember it so maybe it's fair. But with Dark Cupid? You remember that. You were in your rational head when you made that decision. And I know," he held up a hand to stop the protest forming on her face, "I know it was the only way to save me. But still, I wish I could've remembered it."
"I'm sorry, Chat. For what it's worth. It was a very nice kiss."
"You think so?"
"Well, I guess I don't really know. That was my first kiss and I haven't had one since, so..." she trailed off fidgeting with her hands. But Chat Noir was too busy processing what she just said.
That was her first kiss. He, of all people, had the honor of being Ladybug's first kiss. Him! He couldn't help the dopey grin that spread over his face.
"It was my first kiss, too," he sighed, sounding lovesick even to his own ears.
"Seriously?" Her face snapped over to him. "You're such a flirt that I figured..."
"Figured what?" He raised an eyebrow at her, noticing how her face got red. "That I go around kissing a bunch of girls? First of all, I only flirt with you. Hand kisses don't count, those are a sign of respect. But the whole 'I'm in love with you' bit? Yeah, that's pretty exclusive to you. Because, you know, I'm only in love with you." He nudged her shoulder with his own. Noting how she rolled her eyes, but there was a smile on her face. "So yeah, that was my first kiss, Oblivio was my second, and I've never had any more." He shrugged, trying not to show how much it bothered him.
But he and Ladybug were partners. They could read each other's body language like a book. She knew he wished things were different.
The look she was giving him was rather serious, too. He needed a distraction and he needed it fast. Ignore the fact he just confessed he loved her (again). So he used his favorite way to lighten the mood: flirting.
"Although, if you gave me a kiss to remember, purrhaps I wouldn't be so sad." He batted his eyes at her, leaning in and closing his eyes. He waited for her rebuttal, but it never came. He cracked open one eye to see Ladybug working at her lip. She was staring at him. Just staring.
"LB?" He asked gently, sitting back up.
"Okay." She said quietly, leaning in.
Wait, what? That had actually worked? What was happening? What was going on? Ladybug continued to lean towards him, her mouth puckered. Chat Noir couldn't say anything, do anything. He was too busy processing.
Ladybug had given in without a fight. He expected rejection, maybe a finger to his nose pushing him away, maybe a simple remark. Not an "okay" as Ladybug began to lean towards him. She was actually about to kiss him! That wasn't a rejection! What happened to that boy in her life! Why was she being so nonchalant about this! Could it be? Could he even dare hope that perhaps her feelings towards him had changed? Could he actually be that lucky?
"What?" She hummed as she took in his shocked expression, "Cat got your tongue?"
"I didn't think you'd actually say yes," He buried his face in his hands, and he could hear her muffled laughter.
"You know, I can't kiss you if you have your face in your hands." He didn't need to look at her to know she was grinning.
"I know, I know."
"And here I thought the kitten wanted a kiss from his lady," she let out a dramatic sigh, "but it seems as though my heart has been fooled again."
"Of course I want a kiss from you!" he took his face out of his hands, one rubbing the back of his neck. "I just need you to understand that I was joking, jesting, fooling around. I didn't expect you to say yes. You're the love of my life, Ladybug, if you're going to kiss me, I want to make sure it's because you actually want it. Not because of some silly joke I made." He noticed as her eyes grew wide with his confession, the way her mouth dropped open in a little 'o.'
"Chat I," she stopped, "you know there's," she stopped again.
"Another boy? Yeah, I know. That's why I wanted to stop you from doing something that you didn't actually mean." He shrugged, even as his heart was crying out in protest. He had been so close! So close! But he knew he couldn't actually cherish the kiss if she didn't mean it. He never wanted to force her into anything, ever.
For all his flirtations, he would wait if it meant that she was comfortable.
"I was going to say complications. The other boy being one of them. But make no mistake. I do..." she took in a deep breath, "I do want to kiss you."
Chat Noir's head snapped towards her.
"W-what?"
"What? Is that so wrong?" She folded her arms, and her eyes scowled. "Everyone tells me that I shouldn't. That I can't risk being with you. That it's a bad idea. But the rest of Paris can fall for your charming kitty-cat act all they want. But me? The person you're actually in love with? Nope! I can't think about you that way because it's too freaking dangerous. What a load of bull." She scoffed.
Chat Noir's head was running a mile a minute. She had feelings for him. She had feelings for him! But someone was telling her to put a stop to it? Probably Tikki. He wasn't sure who else would know enough about Ladybug to have a discussion with her like that.
"You're right, it is a load of bull." He agreed, the anger of having a responsibility he didn't sign up for weighed heavy on his chest.
He loved being Chat Noir, he really did. He cherished the freedom that came with it. But he knew that Ladybug was different. She didn't look at this as freedom, she looked at being a superhero as "duty first, fun later." He knew she still enjoyed being Ladybug, but that she was weighed down by everyone's expectations of her. He knew what that was like.
"You should be allowed to love whoever you want-."
"I didn't say love." She interrupted his grand speech, he raised an eyebrow at her.
"Alright, fine. You should be allowed to kiss whoever you want, better?" She nodded. "There are already so many things we have to sacrifice for Paris. Our time, our lives, sometimes our relationships outside of the mask. I know my constant lying to get away has caused some strain on people." He took a deep breath before continuing. "So be selfish for once! Give in! If you genuinely want to kiss me, I won't stop you. We don't have to be dating or whatever, no if you're not comfortable with it. But if you want this, My Lady, and I think you do. Then you should go for it. No matter what Tikki says." He grabbed her hands and gave them a tight squeeze.
Her blue eyes roamed his face, a question in them. She must have found her answer, because suddenly she was nodding.
"I still don't know the specifics of my feelings. Obviously, the other boy is still in my life. He still had a place in my heart," she looked away from him, a smile on her face that made him jealous, "but I can't deny that you're there too, Chat." She turned back towards him, and the smile she was giving him was absolutely blinding.
"You really mean that?" He breathed, leaning a bit closer into her. As if somehow he could soak up all of the light that was radiating from her.
"I do. I really, really, do." She looped her arms around his neck, tilting her head up.
"And you're absolutely sure that you want this." He could feel her breath on his lips now. It was an intoxicating feeling.
"I am. To hell with the rules, I'm going to kiss my attractive partner who is madly in love with me." He saw the determination in her face. He pushed aside his worries, closed his eyes, and leaned down.
She met him halfway.
Euphoria. That was the best word Chat had for whatever he was feeling. Her lips on his were soft, he hoped his weren't too chapped. It was one of the best feelings in the world, kissing her. It was warm and fuzzy and he never wanted to leave her embrace. She pulled him even closer, if that was possible, and deepened the kiss. He tried to pour every ounce of love he had into it. A single thread of 'I love you, I love you, I love you," running from his mind to hers. She tilted her head, and oh, that was better. He brought a hand up to cup her cheek, running a hand across her mask. But the air they had could only last for so long.
They broke apart, both of them wearing kiss bruised smiles.
"Was that as good as you remember, My Lady?" Chat Noir wiggled his eyebrows at her. She let out a laugh, happiness soaked through it.
"It was even better, kitty." She murmured, resting her forehead on his. "Because you actually remembered this one."
"So I did." His arms encircled her. "And I also remember the conversation we had leading up to it. You seriously have feelings for me?"
She nodded against him. That's it, it was official. He could die right there on the spot and die a happy man.
"I really don't know what to do about them. I don't know how deep they are or what to do about the other boy. All I know is that I've been dying to kiss you."
"I'll wait until you figure it out. I will always wait for you, My Lady." He told her earnestly, giving her a small kiss on her nose.
"You don't deserve that Chat, waiting around for me when I have no idea who I'm going to choose." She shook her head.
"Ladybug, look at me," he tilted her head up towards him. "I'm happy to just be in the running at all. That alone is more than I could ever ask for. Trust me. I've waited this long, I can wait for a bit more. If it means more nights like this, then I'd wait an eternity. And if it doesn't work out and the other boy likes you, then you'll be happy right?"
"I think so," she breathed out.
"That's all I want. I just want you to be happy." He placed his forehead back on hers, as if he could transfer all of his feelings simply by putting their heads together.
"I don't know what I did to deserve you." Ladybug whispered, her breath on his lips again.
"Just being the most amazing girl I've ever met. Simple." He grinned.
"Flatterer."
"Well, if I'm now competing for your affections then I better be flattering you. My Lady deserves only the finest of compliments." She laughed again and Chat Noir truly believed he could live off of the sound.
"Hey Chat?" She hummed.
"Yes, My Lady?"
"Can I kiss you again?" She whispered.
"Alwa-mnph!" He was cut off by the feeling of Ladybug's lips on his.
Even though it wasn't the first time he kissed her (and he hoped it wasn't the last) he still wasn't quite used to the feeling. But, like with all other things, he followed her lead. She decided when to tilt her head or when she should place her hands in his hair. He kept her arms around her, pulling her closer so they were flush up against each other. He hoped she couldn't hear his heartbeat. Or maybe he did. Maybe hearing the heart that beat for her and only her would sway her in his direction. Love poured through her motions, every small pulse he could feel how much she cared about him.
He was pretty sure the other boy had never been kissed like this before. So ha! Take that Mr. The Other Boy.
They pulled apart, a smile on Ladybug's lips.
"You felt that too, right?"
"Felt what, bugaboo?"
"That warm and fuzzy feeling? Just how right it feels? Here, let me show you."
And by golly she was kissing him again! But this time, he was struck by it. The warmth that filled up his entire body from head to toe. How perfect her lips felt against his, how right it felt that they were like this. How right it felt that he was kissing Ladybug. She intertwined their fingers together, and for the first time Chat Noir noticed that they were a perfect match. How had he not seen that before?
"I felt it." He breathed as he pulled apart.
"Maybe it's just me being optimistic, but I don't think everyone feels that way while kissing." Ladybug bit her lip. The lip that had just been on him. Oh she was going to kill him.
"I don't think so either, but I've only ever kissed you, so it's hard to say."
"I've only ever kissed you, too. I don't know," she pulled her hands from his neck and leaned back on them, not bothering to get out of his lap, "I don't really have a desire to kiss anyone else."
"What about the other boy?"
"For some reason, I get the feeling that he won't make me feel like this. It just seems right with you. I've never felt that way with anyone else before. Besides, I'm pretty sure he's not even into me like that." She admitted, but strangely, she didn't look too sad about the fact.
"Well, as the other one competing for your affection, I want you to know that I'm absolutely into you like that." He winked and she laughed. Oh how he loved that laugh.
"Oh really? I would've never thought," she flicked his bell, a devious smile on her lips. "I promise you Chat, I won't make you wait for your answer for long, okay? And between you and me, I think you already have quite a bit of a lead on him."
"Take all the time you need, My Lady." He picked up her hand and placed a kiss on it. "I'm going to be here for you regardless. But," he felt a grin growing on his face, "this is a compurrtition I intend to win."
"Oh, just shut up and kiss me." Ladybug rolled her eyes.
And so he did.

I actually really really like how this turned out, these sorts of one shots are quickly becoming one of my favorites to not only read, but also write. -Colorado
