~Three~
Aurelia's POV
The last time I took a nap this good must've been eons ago. It was only ten minutes long, but was quick and well-deserved. I slowly sat up from the surprisingly comfortable chair and looked over at Hinata's state. He was shifting in his sleep, seemingly uncomfortable by the way the pillow supported his head. Figuring I should fix it so he has an easier time relaxing, I lifted his head a bit to fluff up the pillow. When I was done, I stepped back only to lock my eyes with his brilliant orange ones.
We both shot back promptly and began rapid-firing apologies. "I-I'm truly sorry! I saw you were uncomfortable so I fixed the pillow for you. I seemed to have overstepped my boundaries! This is so embarrassing.." My hands were messing with the hem of my uniform and I quickly avoided his gaze. Good going, Aurelia. You embarrassed yourself in front of your first hope of a friend at this place..
"I'm sorry too! I didn't mean to scare you... um.." His eyes roamed around the room until they landed on me again. Red leaked into his cheeks while he tried to find out what to say. "Why am I in here?" He asked. "Why are you in here with me?!"
I tucked some hair behind my ear and raised an eyebrow. I didn't understand what the big deal was. "You ate some of my sushi and fainted. Was it really that bad? I'll ask my butler to fix the recipe!" I leaned forward, hoping that altering the recipe would resolve the issue.
He relaxed and tried to think about what happened. He seemed to have remembered because of his sharp gasp of realization. "U-Uh, it wasn't bad! It's the best sushi I've ever tasted! I-I-It's just that... You said you had a butler which caught me off guard. Nobody like you goes to school here. And the fact I was eating your sushi-"
Nobody like me?
Forcing a smile to ease his nerves, I said, "-its okay, Hinata! We should head back to class though. We've been gone for twenty minutes already." I beckoned him to walk along with me.
Hinata followed behind with a gambol, resembling a puppy following its owner. He seems to have forgotten the awkward situation in less than a second. We made creative conversation and talked about some rather weird things.
He said he was in the volleyball club. I swear he died and came back to life when I said I've never played it or even seen a real game. After a mini description of the game, he said, "If you're not doing anything after school you can come watch us practice!"
While I was nervous about meeting a bunch of people at once, it was probably the best chance to get to know the inner circles of the school. I'm so lucky I was seated next to such a welcoming person! I giddily texted my butler the news and told him to pick me up in twenty minutes.
The rest of the day was pretty quiet on my part. I made an effort to pay attention in class so I can finish homework fast when I get home. Just because I'm in the regular classes doesn't mean I get to slack off! When class ended Hinata shot from his seat, grabbed his bag and shoved my bag into my chest so we could beat the hallway traffic. He ran pretty fast, but I was able to keep up just fine.
We arrived at the gym which made Hinata really excited. He ranted about how hard it was to get in the club and he had to do some pretty difficult stuff.
Woah, he must be good at it.
He pushed open the door and held it open for me. He shut the door behind him and sniffed up a large amount of air. "Ahh~ the smell of air salonpas!"
"Air..... Salonpas?" I questioned him out loud.
"Hinata, who's this?" Someone asked from behind me.
"She's the new girl in my class! She only came here to watch us play."
I turned around and saw an intimidating blonde with glasses glaring at me suspiciously. Behind him were more boys whose attention locked on me. Oh no. I'm starting to think I bit off more than I could chew.
I backed up into Hinata and said, "I-I'm Miyano Aurelia! Pleasure to meet your acquaintance," I said nervously.
Hinata stepped in front of me and forced me behind him. He spread his arms out wide and looked up at the blonde, attempting to look tough. "D-Don't look at her like that! Be nice, Tsukishima!"
Everyone else started walking over here to see what the commotion was all about. I shrunk further behind my orange-haired friend, not sure how to react to everything. His height wasn't doing a good job of hiding me. I couldn't even get a good look at everybody's faces because I was so nervous.
Another tall guy came up to us. He grabbed Hinata's head and maneuvered him out of the way to get a better look at me. I gasped and lifted a hand in an attempt to grab him back, but efforts were futile as I surrendered under his stare.
While Hinata was struggling to swat his hand away from his head, he said, "Kageyama, let go! You're scaring her!"
Kageyama ignored him and examined me with scrutiny. His reaction was indifferent as he backed away slowly and turned to Hinata. Kageyama just stared at him weirdly before going back to practicing.
Why are these guys so hard to read?
"Kageyama's so scary," Hinata whined quietly thinking he wouldn't be able to hear him.
"SHUT UP, DUMBASS!" Kageyama shouted from behind the net.
While I cared about how Hinata was doing right now, I was also curious about the two other boys who were over in a corner with their jaws wide open. "T-Tanaka is this real? Are we really awake right now?" Asked a short boy with the front part of his hair bleached.
"I love my life. Hinata is so awesome..." was all Tanaka could say in his daze.
I looked at them weirdly and then decided to ignore the both of them. As far as I'm concerned they aren't relevant at the moment. I was here to see Hinata do his thing and keep myself busy.
They seemed disheartened by my decision to disregard their presence. I felt a little bad, but I figured I'd get to know them some other day. I sat on the bleachers with my legs crossed, and waited for the game to start.
《!Skip the game¡》
I didn't know how to respond. Hinata was jumping up and down excitedly in front of me, asking about his performance. All I could say was, "How are your arms not broken yet?" My voice was filled with wonder and curiosity. He took this as a good thing apparently.
"I was like woosh, fuah, BAM! RIGHT?"
I tilted my head at the unfamiliar words. "W-Woosh?"
"YEAH!"
"Fuah?...."
"YUP!"
"Bam?"
He grinned brightly at me and threw the volleyball up and down in one of his hands. "You should try it!" He suggested. "It's super fun!"
I stood up and dusted off my skirt. I was exhausted from just watching them, and now he's trying to get me to play! "I think not. I've only ever danced in my life, which is enough for me. You guys were amazing; however, I'll be taking my leave now. If there are any upcoming games, tell me and I'll be there," I said to the boys in a bow. Then, I turned to Hinata and smiled. "I'll see you tomorrow." The moment I said this, I heard my phone vibrate in my bag. I checked and saw that it was from Kyoji. Sparing one last glance at the gym, I walked out.
