------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Adrien loved most akuma attacks. He hated Hawkmoth with a burning passion, and the quicker he was brought to justice, the better. However, getting to be a superhero was undoubtedly the coolest thing that had ever happened to him. Plus, whenever there was an attack, he got to see Ladybug. And Ladybug was undoubtedly the coolest person that he had ever met. So the pros far outweigh the cons with most attacks.

Most was the key word there. Because while some were a great opportunity to destroy Hawkmoth's ego and to banter with Ladybug, others were pure hell. Normally when he was stuck as Adrien Agreste. Like right now!

Adrien had to hold back a slew of curses as Giuseppe grabbed his arm.

"Come on Adriano! It's no good to stick around when there's an akuma." His kind-hearted photographer warned him.

Adrien would've felt thankful if not for the fact that he had to get away from everyone. That included Giuseppe, who obviously hadn't gotten the memo.

"Giuseppe, you should make sure others are okay! I'll stay here and hide, I promise." Adrien tried to convince him as they ran through the set.

"I don't want you separated from me, Adriano. Your father trusts me with your protection at your shoots. Until your bodyguard or some superhero shows up, you're sticking by me. However, checking on the other models is a fantastic idea! Let's go." Giuseppe turned back towards the akuma.

Adrien had never hoped that Gorilla would show up as much as he did at that moment. His bodyguard normally did a fantastic job, but he allowed Adrien to sneak away during most akuma attacks.

The akuma, who was called "Sticky Glue" (Adrien actually let out a laugh at that one) was tearing up all sorts of equipment. She shot out blasts of purple, always catching two people. Said two people would then be stuck together.

'Note to self, ignore the blasts.' Adrien nodded his head, looking over the akuma to see where the akumatized object would be.

Nothing obvious stood out to him. The akuma was dressed in a white dress of intricate strands. They criss-crossed over the akuma's purple skin, and her eyes were simply white ovals. Her hair was pulled back into a slick ponytail. She reminded Adrien of someone, the dress seemed familiar, too.

"Who is that?" Adrien asked Giuseppe. His photographer's eyes narrowed, trying to place the akuma. After a couple moments, Giuseppe's eyes widened in recognition.

"That's Lila! That dress was one she was supposed to be modeling."

Adrien's nose wrinkled in disgust. He had forgotten that Lila was supposed to be modeling with him. While he would never wish for Hawkmoth's curse on an innocent person, Lila was far from someone Adrien considered innocent. Although, it was nice for her to take on a more direct approach for once. Made his and Ladybug's job easier.

And speaking of Ladybug, Adrien saw the red and black beauty already taunting the akuma. Adrien felt his heart fill with hope, relief, and admiration as he took in her confident smirk.

"Hey Giuseppe, Ladybug is already here. So you can let me go now, right?" Adrien tried to prompt the photographer.

"Absolutely not! Where is Chat Noir? He's normally the one who deals with civilians." Giuseppe muttered.

'He's right here, if you would let him go and do his job.' Adrien tried his hardest to not be annoyed, but he could practically hear Plagg's laugh.

Stupid bad luck.

Lila, there was no way Adrien was calling her "Sticky Glue", suddenly spotted them. Her eyes widened, and her look of rage turned into a hysterical smile.

"Adrien! There you are, my prince charming." She purred.

Adrien almost gagged, but duty came first. Maybe he could even get some information out of Lila.

"Lila? What's going on?" He asked, stepping forward. Giuseppe still didn't let him go.

"Someone poured glue over my beautiful dress. Now I can't model with you, anymore." Lila whined. "All because I told him that I could get him connections with a modeling company in New York."

"Well, could you?" Adrien gave her a skeptical look.

"Sure I could! I just needed a bit more time to meet someone there, get them to fall in love with my amazing charm, and boom! He had the job." Lila waved off the lie she had so clearly just made up.

Adrien made a mental note to get the name of the model and give him a high-five.

"Of course, the rich executive couldn't even come close to our love." Lila batted her eyelashes at Adrien.

"We aren't in love, Lila." Adrien massaged his temples. He was really getting tired of her whole charade.

"Now, you're the one who's telling lies." Lila glared at him, beginning to form a blast.

Adrien's eyes widened in panic. If he got hit, he and Giuseppe would be stuck together until Ladybug could defeat him! He had to avoid that, at all costs.

"Adrien, watch out!" Ladybug gasped, tackling him out of the way.

"No! Not her!" Lila cried as her blast shot through the air.

"Ladybug, don't get hit!" Adrien tried to push her away.

Of course, every action has an equal or opposite reaction. So Ladybug pushing him away and him pushing her away resulted in the two staying in the exact same spot. The exact same spot that Lila had just hit.

Well, shit.

By the time Adrien registered what was going to happen, it was too late to do anything. At least Giuseppe wasn't holding onto him anymore. However, he had a much bigger problem now. He and Ladybug were stuck together, holding hands.

In any other context, Adrien would be overjoyed! He and Ladybug got to hold hands, and he could hold them as long as he wanted. But the fact that he wasn't Chat Noir right now really put a damper on things. Plus, Ladybug definitely needed both of her hands to fight.

"Noooo! You aren't supposed to be stuck to her. How dare you! Hawkmoth, you sabotaged me." Lila accused, and Adrien noticed the purple butterfly glow over Lila's face.

He took the time to lead Ladybug back to his set inside one of the tents.

"Oh no, oh no, this wasn't supposed to happen!" Ladybug paced the tent. Which meant that Adrien was also pacing the tent.

"I'm so sorry, Ladybug. I should've tried to avoid her blast." Adrien apologized.

"No, it's my fault. I should have realized what getting hit would do. I hadn't analyzed her powers and I took that risk." Ladybug shook her head.

"I mean, there have been worse akuma's right?" Adrien offered her a small smile.

"Yeah, but I could always defeat them with Chat Noir's help." Ladybug let out a loud sigh, pulling out her yo-yo and checking her communicator.

Adrien stood next to her, trying not to give too much away as she tried to call him. Obviously, he didn't answer.

"Chat, where are you? I've been hit by the akuma, who appears to be our old friend Lila Rossi. I could really use your help with this one. Call when you're transformed." Ladybug practically pleaded into her phone.

Adrien took the risk to glance behind him to his bag. Plagg poked his head out of the bag, giving Adrien a shake of his head. It wasn't worth it. Adrien took another glance at Ladybug's face, who was clearly on the verge of panic.

"Hey, Ladybug?" Adrien turned towards her.

"Yeah, Adrien?" Ladybug gave him a smile that would've fooled anyone else. However, he was her partner and he could tell just how worried she was.

"Listen to me, it's going to be okay." Adrien tried to reassure her. "You are going to go back out there, and kick Lila's butt, okay?"

"I appreciate the vote of confidence." Ladybug gave him an empty grin. "But I don't think you understand how dire our circumstances are. As soon as I call my lucky charm, we're on a five minute timer until you figure out my identity. If I were to go and get help from another holder, you would figure out my identity anyways because of... reasons. The only thing we can really do is sit here and wait for Chat Noir." She conceded.

'Well, I hate to break it to you, bugaboo, but Chat Noir isn't coming!' Adrien pushed down the wave of panic that shot through him. That wasn't what Ladybug needed at the moment. She needed someone who would be there to give her support.

"Well, your lucky charm has always helped you out before, right? And if you were to detransform then I would just close my eyes. I would never betray your trust like that, Ladybug." Adrien promised her.

"Fine. I'll save it as a last resort. I'd still like to gather more information about Lila's powers and maybe where the akumatized object is."

"She told me someone poured glue on her dress, ruining it. Do you think that could be where the akuma is? It makes the most sense with her design, too. It's the only thing that isn't purple." Adrien reported. Ladybug gave him a weird look.

"You certainly know a lot about akumas."

"Heh," Adrien scratched the back of his neck, ignoring the blush. "Let's just say I'm a big fan."

"Well, I appreciate that." Ladybug gave him a grin that warmed him from head to toe.

"So, if the dress is the akumatized object then how do we get that close to her to tear it?"

"Hmmm," Adrien noticed the calculating look in Ladybug's eyes."Well we've already been hit by her, so there's nothing more she can do to us. She seemed really upset about us being stuck together. We can use that to our advantage. Maybe by stunning her?" Ladybug muttered to herself.

"How would we stun her?"

"I think by just going out there and holding hands? Plus, if we look happy enough with our predicament, maybe she'll believe that we're... you know." Ladybug's face flushed.

"O-oh." Adrien choked out.

It certainly wasn't something they hadn't done before. He should've been used to pretending to be Ladybug's boyfriend by now! However, he wasn't. Especially not as Adrien.

As they stepped out into the sunlight, Ladybug leaning in towards him, Adrien felt every part of his arm combust. He was going to die.

"You two!" Lila shrieked. "Stop that right now!"

"Stop what, Lila? You were the one who shot us." Ladybug taunted, walking closer towards her.

"It's not fair! Adrien was supposed to be mine! Not yours."

"Well, maybe it's because I actually like people with a sense of justice." Adrien shrugged, leaning his head on top of Ladybug's.

"I have a perfect sense of justice." Lila cried. Adrien snorted, and he could feel Ladybug's silent laughter.

Lila? Justice? Yeah, right.

"No, you really don't." Ladybug sighed. "And even if you did, you were too late. Adrien is all mine." She leaned up and placed a kiss on Adrien's cheek.

He was dead. Absolutely and positively dead.

"And there's nothing you can do about it." Ladybug smirked.

They were so close! Lila was nearly in their grasp. Just a few more feet, and they could try and rip the dress. But then, Lila let out an awful laugh. One that shook Adrien to his core.

He gulped, the feeling of dread dawning on him.

He had a bad feeling that he and Ladybug had been wrong about her powers. Very, very, very wrong.

"Is that so?" She purred. "Because while you two were off doing who knows what, I was here talking with Hawkmoth. He decided to give me a power upgrade." She shrugged.

It was then when Adrien noticed the splatters of glue on the concrete.

"Ladybug, we've gotta go now!" Adrien yelled, sweeping her into his arms and running away.

"A-Adrien?" Ladybug squeaked, trying to hold on with one arm.

He carried her bridal-style, trying to stay out of Lila's wrath for as long as possible. If they got hit, it would be game over. Ladybug would be nothing more than a spot on the pavement. Her miraculous would either be gone or in Hawkmoth's grasp. Adrien didn't trust Hawkmoth to tell Lila not to take the risk. And even if he did, Adrien was sure Lila wouldn't listen to him.

"Sorry, Ladybug. I guess instead of pretending to be my girlfriend, you'll have to pretend to be my wife." Adrien winked, and he felt a sense of pride rise in him as he watched Ladybug's face turn bright red.

"Uh, guh. Oh, okay. I'm fine with that." She sighed, leaning into him.

Adrien could've sworn that his heart stopped. How could she say things like that? He was going to die, but he was going to die a happy man.

He stopped, disappearing into his set.

"Okay, so I think we can both agree that we've got a problem." Adrien set Ladybug down, gasping for breath.

"S-she's got upgraded powers. I had no idea that Hawkmoth could even do that!" Ladybug put a hand against her face. "This is bad, really, really bad. Neither of us are agile enough to try and fight her while stuck like this. I mean, we could try it, but it would take way too long. There's no way to predict her movements well enough."

"I think we have to use your lucky charm, Ladybug." Adrien told her.

"I know, believe me, I know." Ladybug groaned. "But after we have it, we have to work fast, okay?"

"Okay."

"Lucky charm!" Ladybug called, throwing up her yo-yo. A small flurry of ladybugs revealed a ring, one that was identical to his if you ignored the pattern. "Oh that's just great." Ladybug scowled at the ring.

"W-what does it mean?" Adrien asked, praying that it didn't mean what he thought. Not here, not now. This wasn't how this was supposed to go!

"It means we've got no choice but wait for Chat Noir to show up." Ladybug fell to the floor, her earrings already beeping.

"Are you sure?"

"Yep. With Chat here it would allow him to try and cataclysm us apart. Plus, he could act as a distraction." Ladybug groaned. "Of course, he hasn't shown himself all fight."

"Maybe that's because he couldn't." Adrien gulped. Ladybug's head snapped towards him, her eyebrows furrowing. "I'll ask you one last time, you're sure we can't win without Chat Noir?"

"Positive." Ladybug nodded, her eyes searching his face. He could tell she was connecting the dots, or at least, trying to.

"You asked for it." Adrien sighed. "I'm sorry." He whispered, before calling his transformation. He squeezed his eyes shut, not wanting to see Ladybug's reaction. He heard her gasp, and that was all he could take. "Cataclysm." He muttered, feeling the destructive power shoot to his hand. He quickly touched his other hand, praying that it would get rid of the glue.

"Chat?" Ladybug whispered, placing her left hand on his cheek. Good, his cataclysm worked.

"Hi, Ladybug." He whispered back.

"You're Adrien?" Her voice cracked, as her earrings beeped. Only four minutes left.

"Yeah, I'm Adrien." He muttered. "Sorry I didn't show up earlier, it's a bit hard when you're stuck with other people."

"Holy shit. I'm in love with Chat Noir." Ladybug gasped.

"What?" Chat's eyes flew open.

"You heard nothing!" Ladybug shrieked, putting her hands over her face.

"Hold on, back up. What did you just say?" Chat Noir stepped closer to her, his arm hovering over her shoulder.

"Nothing! Absolutely nothing." Ladybug screamed into her hands.

"No, I know I heard something. Maybe about a certain bug being interested in a certain cat, hmm?" He grinned, leaning in towards her.

Ladybug peaked out of her hands, letting out a "eep!" when she saw their proximity.

"Well, does that jog your memory, my lady?" Chat Noir whispered into her ear.

"Do you have to be so, so, so ugh!" Ladybug shouted in exasperation, throwing her hands up.

"So what?"

"You know," She gestured to him. "So you! About it." She huffed and crossed her arms.

"Aw, bugaboo, are you embarrassed?" Chat cooed. She was really too cute for her own good.

"No." She muttered, but her blush gave her away.

"You know, I'm in love with you too." Chat whispered, suddenly turning serious. "I care about you so much, Ladybug."

"You do?" She whispered, looking up at him.

"Of course I do! Did you forget how madly in love with you I am?" Chat Noir laughed. "God, I'm so in love with you, Ladybug. And I have been since the day I met you."

"Oh." She whispered. "W-wait, can I ask you something stupid?"

"Go ahead."

"Can you detransform? I want to say this to Adrien, he's the one I fell for first, after all."

"Fell for first?" Chat Noir breathed.

"I promise, I'll explain. Just, can you detransform?" Her earrings and his ring let out simultaneous beeps.

"You're about to destransform, too." Chat Noir realized.

"So close your eyes then." Ladybug shrugged.

"Okay." Chat Noir transformed, shutting his eyes.

"Not yet, silly!" Ladybug giggled.

"O-oh, right." Adrien laughed sheepishly.

"Adrien Agreste," Ladybug grabbed his hands. "I love you. I always have. I'm sorry for all the rejections, all the times I denied my feelings for you. I'm sorry none of my attempted confessions worked, but we're here now. I'm so happy that you're my partner, there isn't anyone else for me. Knowing that you've been the man who has been by my side this entire time has only made my love for you grow even more. You mean the world to me, Adrien." She admitted, her eyes shining with happy tears.

"You mean the world to me too, Ladybug." Adrien was feeling like he might cry himself.

"I want you to find me." She squeezed his hands. "I know you can do it, chaton. And once you find me, we'll go out, okay?"

"Like, out on a date?"

"Yeah, out on a date. God, I've wanted this for so long." Ladybug let out a watery laugh.

"You're someone I know in my civilian life, aren't you?" Adrien realized. Ladybug let out a small nod as her earrings beeped rapidly at her. "I'll find you, I promise." He breathed, squeezing his eyes shut.

It was a good thing too, because Ladybug's transformation fell in a flash of pink light.

"It's only fair that I give you a little bit of incentive." She giggled, stepping closer to him.

"O-oh?" Adrien could feel her breath on his lips as she leaned up towards him. He leaned down, suddenly realizing what was about to happen.

Their lips met in the middle. Adrien couldn't help but gasp. Her lips were oh so soft, and she was even sweeter than he could've imagined. The small giggle she let out sent him to the Heavens.

"There." She whispered. "A kiss you can remember."

"Thank you." Adrien rasped.

"Now, come on, we've got an akuma to defeat." Ladybug called her transformation back. Adrien opened his eyes to see Ladybug absolutely glowing. She looked... radiant. Adrien sucked in a harsh breath.

It was official, he loved akuma attacks.

This did NOT go in the direction i had originally planned. However, I like this better and this way you get a bit of variety. It's been a little bit since we've had a half-reveal.
