Amber rapped her knuckles on the door to Sebastian's trailer. She was balancing a box of pizza that was teetering precariously in the other hand, and she let out a huff as Jemma grumbled about, "stupid Sebastian, always wanting to spend time with his girlfriend."
"You didn't have to come, Jem," Amber reminded her best friend. This only earned her a laugh.
"You aren't getting rid of me that easily, hon."
Amber rolled her eyes playfully. The door opened and she smiled brightly a Sebastian appeared.
"Amber, Jemma! Come on in," he invited the two girls with a wave of his hand. He stepped to the side and allowed them to step inside his trailer. Amber paused once she stepped in as Sebastian's arm looped around her waist and he pressed a quick kiss to her temple.
"Amber, no offense," Jemma began after squeezing past Amber and into the trailer. "His trailer is WAY better than yours." The girl plopped down on the large plush couch and stretched her body all the way across it, leaving only the love seat for the couple to sit in.
Jemma shot Amber a quick wink, causing Amber's face to turn a bright red. She shuffled her feet a bit as Sebastian took the pizza from her and placed it on the table in the corner. He grabbed some plastic plates from the cabinet and put two pieces of pizza on each plate before passing each girl their own share.
He sat down in the love seat and began to eat as Amber remained standing. Once he noticed this, however, he put his pizza down and peers over at her in confusion. "What's wrong, babe?" He asked, his voice laced with genuine concern. Amber shook her head and smiled, though still shuffling her feet.
"Nothing!" She assured him with a grin. It was taking everything in her not to smack the smirk off of Jemma's smug face.
Sebastian waved her over to him with his hand, and she quickly obliged. He wrapped an arm around her waist and tugged her down so she was sitting on his lap. Amber bit her lip to try to suppress her smile as they all began eating peacefully again.
"You're welcome," Jemma mouthed with a grin. Amber simply rolled her eyes.
The three easily finished off the large pizza they had ordered, and they were left with a few dirty plates and an easy flow of conversation.
"So, you guys have known each other for how long?" Sebastian asked curiously, switching his gaze back and forth between the two women.
"Going on, what, fifteen years?" Amber replied, looking to Jemma for confirmation. The blonde nodded.
"Fifteen years ago. Jesus, that's a long time," she muttered, flipping over to press her face into the couch cushions. "Why do I still put up with you?"
Amber laughed at her best friend's antics. "You love me and you know it."
"Sadly."
Sebastian had a soft smile on his face as he watched the two conversing. He cherished the moments like these, where Amber was just so unapologetically herself. Each day he seemed to find something new about her that was fascinating and wonderful, and he was so incredibly excited to learn more about this woman he had become so infatuated with.
His mind drifted off as the two friends continued their playful bickering. He wondered what they were to do about their relationship in the eyes of the media. While he wished that he could take her to beautiful dinners and proper dates and go stargazing with her, he just wasn't sure if it was possible at that point. Their lives had become very high profile since filming began, and the media already had their suspicions. He knew that the negative coverage Amber was getting was really affecting her, and he didn't want to make things escalate by openly being together. As much as he loved his fans, he knew that there was a select few that would never approve of Amber simply because they don't want him to date anyone who isn't themselves.
He let out a soft sigh as he rested his head on Amber's shoulder and shut his eyes. His arms were wrapped around her waist as he held her close against his chest. Her warmth was a great comfort as his mind crawled out of the depths of his previous train of thought. That was a decision for another time, that he would make with Amber's input only. It wasn't a decision he could make alone.
Amber soon realized how quiet he had become, and she furrowed her brows in confusion. She turned her head just a bit in order to see Sebastian's head resting on her shoulder. When she saw his eyes were closed, she became concerned.
"Sebastian?" She uttered softly. His eyes fluttered open to look at her. "Are you okay?"
He smiled softly at the concern lacing her tone. "I'm good. Just worn out. Stunts today were a nightmare."
Jemma chuckled. "I saw you jumping off of that big wall there. How was that?" She sat up, pulling her knees up against her chest. There was now space on the couch for Amber to sit in, but she had no intentions of moving. She was far too comfortable in her current spot.
Sebastian hummed. "It was terrifying," he remarked with a grin. "Basically they attached this little cord to me and put me all the way up there and said, 'just like, run and jump and you'll be fine, we've got you all hooked up,' but they forget to mention that the harness doesn't make it any less like you're about to die, so it was a little rough."
Amber laughed and shook her head. "You're a mess."
He chuckled. "Just a bit, but you guys are too, so it's okay."
Jemma scoffed and allowed herself to fall back down onto the cushions. "Rude."
"But true."
"Yeah," she shrugged. "It's true."
Amber twisted in Sebastian's arms so she could look at him. She could see his eyelids drooping with exhaustion and the dark bags under his eyes would surely need to be fixed by the makeup department tomorrow, right after they give him a good scolding for staying up so late. They had been talking for hours. Time had slipped by so quickly that none of them had noticed.
"We should go," Amber suggested. "You need sleep." She trailed her thumb over the bags underneath his eyes and he chuckled.
"I'm fine," he insisted, though his voice slurred drowsily.
Jemma snorted a laugh. "Yeah, because you sound soooo alert right now," she mused, sitting up once again with a cocky grin. Sebastian glared playfully at her, but this glare was wiped away as Amber pressed a kiss to his cheek.
"Get some sleep, you dork. Good night."
"Good night."
And with that, the two women left, and Sebastian drifted off to sleep within minutes.
