Ch. 9-LM

It's been two days since I have seen all my friends. Uncle Yang finally had some free time, so we spent most of our time at home. We mostly played chest and Uno but that's what we usually do for fun together.

Uncle Yang had a lot of interruptions with phone calls but he constantly told me it was nothing.I thought this was odd but I let it go. He did go onto base for 1 hour at one point but he made it back for dinner. I know he felt horrible, this was the first time he had urgent matters during family week.

The end of the week was coming close and that meant I would be leaving soon again. Rose and Nayeon wanted to have dinner before I left. I told them tonight would be good. They both agreed and said we would meet at a small dinner by the movie theater at 6:00.

I was on my way out when I noticed the door to my uncle's den was slightly open. I slightly walked up to see my uncle passed out in his chair. My eyes widened at the sight. My uncle was a hard working man and he never shows how tired he gets. This was the first time seeing my uncle in this state. I went to the living grab the small blanket on the couch and went back to my uncle's den. As I wrapped the blanket over him, I noticed a lot of paperwork, with names, list and numbers. I decided to let it go since it was not my business.

I finally walked out of the house and towards the dinner. It was a beautiful night, and the wind around me felt so good. I used to love this small town, and the weather was always nice. It was never too cold or too hot, it was perfect. I finally made it to the dinner and saw Rose and Nayeon in a small booth. I walk up to the two with a huge smile.

"Hey!" I greet the two.

They greeted me back. The waiter came by and took our drink and dinner order. When the waiter came back with our food we dived into our meals like we haven't eaten in ages. We laughed and had lots of different kinds of conversation. I missed them so much. Rose was my best friend since 3rd grade, and Nayeon moved her when she was 12 years old. She is older by two years but she never really acted older than us.

"I can't believe you are leaving again." Rose pouts.

I gave her a thin tight smile. "I know, I feel like it's goes by too fast."

"Do you have to leave?" Nayeon ask.

Truth to be told, no I don't necessarily have to. I don't have anything permanent.

"She is right. If you don't have to leave, you should stay. At least for a couple of more weeks." Rose begs.

My eyes went to the two who had longing puppies eyes. I slightly chuckle at two.

"And what will I do? You two will have to go to base in the morning and work long with Jisoo and Chaeyoung. My uncle has been extremely busy, so I will be left alone." I explain.

"Or...." Nayeon draws out. Both Rose and I gave her a curious look. "Can you study for the nurse exam again?"

Rose gasps and turns to me with excited eyes. "She is right! Why don't you retake the exam and become a nurse on base with us."

I bit my lower lip nervously. "I don't think...."

"Lisa it's been six and half years. You have to let it go." Nayeon's soothing voice caught my attention.

"Lisa, your parents and brother wouldn't have wanted you to give up on your dreams so easily."

"You should at least think about it. Jisoo did mention when family week is over, she is hiring new nurses." Rose tells me.

I tilt my heads, "Why?" I ask her.

Rose shrugs her shoulders, "I was curious about it too but she said it just for precaution."

"Will you consider it Lisa?" Nayeon asked.

I lean back at my chair in defeat. I used to love studying medicine and taking care of people. I love taking care for a purpose. I always believed that I would have been a nurse for Lathua. But things change and your dreams change. The only problem I have is that I don't necessarily have a new dream. I actually don't know what I want to do. I know six years and I still have no clue what I want to do.

My thinking stopped realizing how pathetic that sounds. Do I seriously not know what I want to do? I looked at Rose and Nayeon who were silently begging for me to stay. Maybe this is my sign for my second chance.

I sign out, "I'll think about it."

Rose smiles, "And that's all we are asking."

Rose phones start to ring. As Rose looks at the caller she smiles widely. Nayeon rolls her eyes with a smirk.

"Oh who could that possibly be?" Nayeon's voice went high and dramatic.

"Shut up." Rose grumbles. She pressed a button and brought her phone to her ear. "Hello... I am with Lisa and Nayeon.... oh that sounds fun... Umm let me ask them. Yeah. I'll text you." She shuts the phone.

"Was that Jimin?" I wiggled my brow.

Rose blushes, "Yes."

"And what does a lover boy want?" Nayeon continues to tease.

"He asked us to go over Jungkook's house to hang out. Apparently everyone is there." Rose tells us.

My thoughts went blank at the mention of Jungkook. It feels like I haven't heard his name in ages, even though it has only been two days. Jungkook is a very polite quiet man but at the carnival, he was laughing and being mischievous at times. It was a good look on him but every once in a while he went back to the reserve quiet guy. If he wasn't a soldier, he would have been my type.

"Lisa? Lisa!"

I was brought out of my thoughts when I heard Rose yelling my name. I blink my eyes, "What?" I asked.

"Do you want to go?"

I gave her a smile, "Yeah let's go."

A/N

Hey! I know it's been awhile. Sorry, since school started I been busy and my schedule is a little hectic.

We have had a bittersweet last couple of days with Ice Cream, VMA, BTS being #1 on the billboard and KTL have hit 1 Billie onYT!

I had been a roller coaster of mix emotions for me.
