25[LM]

I sat on the bar watching all the soldiers on base enjoying their time off. Sometimes I forget that soldiers are regular human beings, and they patty just as hard as any other person. Some even just as reckless as others.

Jennie comes up next to me with a glass of wine in her hand. She greets me with a smile.

"Why aren't you hanging with all the other nurses?" She asked me.

I shrug my shoulders, "Just needed a minute alone."

Jennie nods her head. "You know, when I first met you, I didn't think you were a nurse."

I chuckle at her statement, "Well I didn't think I could be a nurse again."

"And you are happy?"

I look around and noticed the familiar vibe I use to have. I couldn't come to the bar when my brother was alive but at house parties, or when soldiers came to our house, this was all too familiar.

It felt good.

I nod my head. "Surprisingly yes." I took a sip of my beer. "I grew up like this. The small group of friends doing the same thing. The smell of competitive that's outside of base. This was my brothers life."

Jennie nods her head. "I understand that."

"Do you like it here?" I ask her.

Jennie shrugs her shoulders, "No..." she gave me a sheepish smile, "Does that make me bad? I love the city. Not this..." she gestures to the small bar.

I nod my head. "No It doesn't. I understand." I look down at my drink, then back at Jennie. "That's why I thought you and Taehyung would get along."

Jennie eyes furrows. "What do you mean?"

My head tilt at her confusion. "You don't know that he's from the city himself?" Jennie shook her head. "His mom own the biggest mall in Maytown."

"Maytown?" Jennie shrieks. I nod my head with a small smile. "What is he doing here in the army?"

"His dad owns some kind of private bank. And he told Taehyung he wants him to join the army and learn discipline before taking over. He had 1 year left." I explain to her.

"What the hell? Why didn't he tell me this?" Jennie questions.

"Maybe he was trying to win you over with himself instead of money."

Jennie scoffs. "I ignored him because I thought this was the lifestyle he wanted."

My eyes went to Taehyung who was sitting with some other soldiers, drinking and laughing.

"Well it's your chance. Go for it." I tell her.

She bit her bottom lips from nervously. She put her glass down with determination. She stride down confidently towards the table full of men.

Till she froze in the middle of the room. I noticed she was bouncing on her heel. She turn around towards me with fear in her eyes and basically ran to where she started.

"What the hell was that?" I ask her.

She took a breath.

"Maybe I should wait when it's less people." She said.

My eyes went to her. "Oh my gosh, you are nervous."

"Shut up." She grit out.

"Wow. I don't know you well. But this is probably the first time I have seen you like this."

She gently bangs her head on the bar.

"Yah!! Stop." I silently yelled at her.

"Why... why... he should have told me." Jennie whisper to herself.. "damn it." Jennie shoots you straight. "I said yes to a date." She finally tells me.

My eyes and mouth widen. "Who?"

Her eyes scolds me. "Kai."

My eyes went to Kai, who was sitting exactly in front of Taehyung. They were actually talking and sharing a bottle of Soju.

"Oh...."

"Yeah.. ohh." Jennie mumble.

I turn to the bartender. "Two tequila shots please." I look over to Jennie was gave me a confuse look. "We both need it."

The bartender gave us two tequila shots with salt on time and two lemons. Jennie and I both took the shots.
When the drink finally went down, Jennie was looking at me oddly.

"What?"

"What's your problem?" She ask me.

"I don't have a problem." I tell her.

"You said we both needed this." She turns her body towards me. "Is it Jungkook?" I arch a brow at her. She gave me a smirk. "The whole base is talking about ya'll. So like what's the story behind that."

"There is no story." I tell her as I stare at the empty shot glass.

"Oh come one. You helps me."

"I did not help you. You are now stuck between two guys. Two guys that are having drinks together as we speak."

"Well you tried. Now let me try to help." She begs. I stayed quiet not knowing what to say. "You like him?" She questions.

I turn to her. "No."

"That's not convincing." She scoffs.

"Whatever."

"He likes you."

"No he doesn't." I tell her.

Jennie laughs. "Oh sweetie, that wasn't a question." My brow furrows. "You honestly don't think the kid likes you?" I shook my head. "Wow. The boys stares at you from afar. And when my cousin and I  have dinner with him and mentions you, his eyes light up. Jin even told me, you leave his house late sometime when you were taking care of him. Like late late."

"I was taking care of him." I mumble.

"Lisa, he likes you. And from what I heard, it's obvious because you are the first girl he ever been interested in him. Jin feels bad for him."

"Why?"

"Your the first girl, and you are rejecting him so fast." Jennie explains.

"I'm not rejecting him."

Jennie smiles, "so you do like him."

I open my mouth, caught off guard. "It's complicated."

"Honey, you live in base full of soldiers, who are train to go to war any minute now. If that doesn't teach you to live life as if it's your last, don't take any second for granted, and make sure you enjoy every second, say every word is on your mind, then you aren't really for this life."

I look over to Jennie and understand what she said. And in someways, she is right. I look around to see if I could find Jungkook. And when I thought about it, I haven't actually seen him all night.

"Have you see Jungkook?" I ask Jennie.

Jennie shook her head. "He's home."

I nod my head. "Thank you for this. But I got to go."
