Reaper's howl

The desert, For lack of a better word, wasn't really a desert at all, it was merely a vast expanse of sand that, if you stood in the center, you would be exactly a mile from forest in every direction.  Up above, Maoh glided around , using his enhanced vision to observe even the smallest of details. But the main point of interest  was a sort of stone archway standing alone in the very center. "I suppose this is the portal." Maoh though to himself as he started  spiraling down towards the sandy earth.     When Maoh landed, he stumbled a bit on the uneven sand, but regained his composure and stood in front of the arch, looking at it intently.     "Hmm." He said to himself thinking hard. Then tentatively he slowly stuck out his non dominant hand and put it through the archway. Just as he expected, it vanished without a trace. He pulled it back out and examined it thoroughly. It seemed to be fine, just a little blood spattered, but it had been like that ever sense he killed the Goliath creature. Maoh looked around debating weather or not to enter. After what seemed like forever, he decided he didn't dare,  leaped into the air without a word, and flew off to find the lake again, after all, it was about time he had a shower.

Several hours later, Maoh returned to the tree haven soaking wet.    He would have returned  earlier, but just as he finished his first shower and was drying off, he was attacked by a pack of wolf like creatures.  After the extensive battle, Maoh not only found himself relatively unscathed, but completely covered in blood and gore (not his) Thus he took another shower, and rushed back to haven before another monster pack could find him.    Even at noon, most of the other demons were asleep. Maoh took note of that as he tucked his wings in and walked along the dirt paths of haven, sightseeing. It really was a beautiful place. He thought looking up at the thick , leafy canopy above that was until one of the few rays of light that shown through the canopy "poked" him in the eyes, and he looked down, blinking away tears.  And It was no surprise why he accidentally ran into someone. "Owww." Liza sat as she sat up rubbing her head "Who was..." her voice trailed away as she saw Maoh laying on his back and looking at the canopy again. "You ok?" She asked. Maoh  nodded, and said "Are you?"  "Yes, I'm fine." She said standing up "What are you doing up? I thought you were still sleeping at the table."   "Oh, um, I just thought I'd stretch my wings a bit." Maoh replied.  It wasn't the whole truth, but not a lie, that was good. "Oh ok, I wouldn't know." She laughed then said " I've always wanted to know this, but do Endodrakes have tails?"  "No." Maoh said flatly "Well, do you want to see mine?" She said, curling her orange tail around her body to be easily visible. "Fascinating." Maoh said "Well, see you later then." He said starting to walk away "Ok!" She called after him " See you around!"

After Maoh departed from Liza's company, he made a beeline for the tables, hoping to ask Issaic for more information on the portal, but upon arrival at the scene, he realized that Issaic was not among the sleeping demons.      Maoh continued looking everywhere until his search led him to the hollow tree where the young liked to dwell.  "Hey look! it's the purple guy!" A young boy with blue hair called as Maoh approached. Maoh smiled to himself as the children ran up to him "Have you seen Issaic?" Maoh asked " Yeah, last night, why, you want to fight?" A boy with green hair said. there was an instant uproar of arguing about who would win that battle. "Hey,Hey, calm down." Maoh coaxed "Have you seen him today?" " He always leaves in the morning." Lannette( the little silver haired girl )said. Maoh then turned to depart, but the childish demons then caught sight of his wings. "What!!?" Are those wings?"" I've never seen them before!!" "I didn't know demons could have wings!"  "His aren't real! Only the demon rulers have wings!" "Are you a prince?" Were only a few of the questions that the children bombarded him with.  Feeling slightly overwhelmed Maoh sat down and answered all of their questions until Nest walked up.  "Hi everyone!" She beamed, then she saw Maoh, "Oh, hey Maoh, sorry about last night." (Referring to the alcohol consumption and bawling into his shoulder. ) " No problem." Maoh replied standing up "Ooh, are you in love??" Asked one of the kids Maoh ignored this, but Nest blushed "N-no! Of course not!!" She exclaimed "Now I'm sure Maoh is very busy, so let him go."  "But he's so cool!" The boy with green hair whined "Well, maybe he can come back and visit later." Nest said.  Maoh raised his hand in thanks as he passed her, but before he reached the hollow tree exit, someone grabbed his hand. Upon turning around he saw that it was Lannette.  "Um, mr. Maoh,  I think your really cool and, um..., could you please sit by me at dinner?" She said bashfully. Maoh nodded "Oh, thank you!!" Maoh nodded again, then, deciding to impress, he took a running start, and flew off through the trees, leaving the children staring in awe.

Maoh's plan was to find Issaic, because of what Lannette had told him, he thought he might be wandering the forests looking for more demons, but he wanted to double check. He continued to ask other demons, but they had not seen Issaic today either.    Finally, seeing no other option, Maoh again spread his wings and flew up to the tallest branch of The haven trees to look around.     When Maoh landed, the tree branch shook violently and threatened to break under Maoh's weight, but it didn't so Maoh, his branch still blowing around unnervingly in the high winds, began his search.    It was sunset before Maoh finally saw somthing. It was Issaic and two others, one male one female. Both looked slightly younger than Issaic, and both were wounded.

Later that night, Maoh looked everywhere for Issaic, wishing that he had flown down when he first saw him, but he had decided to wait until Later. Big mistake, because He disappeared after bringing the two new demons in.  Maoh knew he had to find him quickly, because dinner was approaching, and he had already made a promise not to miss it.     Maoh scrambled around looking for Issaic for the next half hour, when he finally spotted him sitting on the edge of the cliff watching the sunset.   And this time, Maoh flew to him.  "Hey, I was wondering if you could tell me more about these "gods" you mentioned." He said to Issaic.  Issaic slowly turned around to face him "Well, your about to find out more. Because those bastards are coming,"  He said as a ghostly howl shook the mountain "And they won't be happy until every last demon here is dead."

What is this? Part five? Well, whatever it was, hope you enjoyed it!

Sincerely, the last Knightwalker.

This is what I imagined the wolf beings to look like.  It's also known as a reaper. They are the newest beast on the island, and I perhaps shouldn't mention this yet, but they can climb.
