Hongjoong

There's a sudden crash at the back door, and I stand up in one full swoop, causing Jongho to tumble to the floor. He let out a string of curses, but as a human, Hongjoong didn't understand. "Sorry, Jongie."

I grab the fireplace poker and gingerly make my way to the kitchen, holding the long spiky thing ahead of me for protection. A second thump occurs when I reach the kitchen, before I hear a combination of whinnies, neighs and squawking. Immediately, I know who it is, or rather, who they are.

Ditching the weapon, I run for the door, but before I even reach, the outside goes quiet again. Then...

"Knock-knock."

I open the door to see the unicorn standing there with one foreleg raised, poised to knock with his hoof once again. The others were crowded around behind him some distance away, as if not wanting to be scolded.

"Hi Mingi. What are you all doing here?"

Mingi brought his leg down, turned his head around to face the others and whinnied. I watch in extreme amusement as the Pegasus and griffin start enacting a skit depicting hunger, before gasping in horror when I realize they were actually in extreme hunger.

"Ohmygod, you guys, I'm so sorry. I got so worked up about Hwa leaving that I even forgot to feed you. Gosh, I've been taking him for granted..."

The entire group of them glance up at me with doleful eyes, and I sigh. "I really shouldn't be doing this, but it is my mistake and all. Don't tell Seonghwa about it, and everything will be good. I can make an exception for once. Come in, all of you."

They hurry in, although it seems like a mighty squeeze for some of them, and I shut the door.
