Chapter 44 - Jihyun's birthday party.

Kai's POV

I got into my apartment straight from the cafe with the cups of coffee in my left hand to see my apartment messed up. The floor was splattered with what looked liked glitters, a red carpet was tugged from the door mat to the room. With furrowed brows, I followed the trail of the red carpet and it stopped in the living room, where the guys were all busy doing one thing or the other.

Baekhyun and Sehun were busy tying strings of balloons to the chandeliers. Chanyeol and Kris were putting the hot air paper balloon that was filled with confetti to the middle of what Sehun and Baekhyun were doing.

My eyes drifted to the other side of the room to see Xiumin Hyung and Tao hyung writing something on a paper, while Luhan hyung was sitting beside them making the tissue paper flowers.

Chen and Suho hyung were attaching the letters to the wall behind the cake stand, and Do is tying the confetti banners together. Lay together with an assistant was tying the water flags together

On the banner, a "Happy birthday Jihyun" was written beautifully with glitter pen.

"Guys~~" I called out softly dropping the Coffee on the dinning table and moving towards D.O hyung who was the closest to me.

"Oh Jongin-ah..." Minseok hyung called out. I hummed out in response as I helped D.O and Chen hold out one end of the banner. "Did you get the coffee?"

"Yup, its on the tabl--hyung watch out!" The hot air paper balloon that Chanyeol and Kris were tying to the chandeliers had dropped to the floor making all the confettis to fall out on the floor.

"Oops!" Baekhyun muttered clamping his hands over his mouth.

Chanyeol looked at him in disappointment and Kris looked as if he'll explode any moment from n--

"Yah! Why did you do that?!" He pounced on the shocked Baek hyung and they both wrestled on the bare floor with Baek hyung screaming like a crazy fan girl.

We all rolled our eyes at them both and got back to work.

"And done" Suho muttered as he tied the last string of balloons to the chandeliers. After Baekhyun had spilt the previous one, with Kris playfully tugging on his hair, we decided to move him to another team, and since Suho hyung was stressed being together with Chen Hyung, they both decided to switch. Chen was happy to find one of his kind in his team and Kris was happy that a responsible person was going to join his.

After silently doing our works for almost 2 hours, with coffee breaks and toilet breaks here and there on, we bundled up together and appreciated our hard work.

My apartment living room was beautifully decorated for Jihyun's birthday. His gifts from us were neatly arranged on the table, and the cake made by D.O's Mom was on its way.

All in all we were set for Jihyun's birthday party.

"He should be coming anytime now" Kris muttered as we looked at wall clock to see that its almost 1pm meaning Jihyun's shoot should be over by now.

JiHyun's POV

"Turn left"

"Yes right"

"Give me a cute pose"

"Yes you're doing good, but add more aegyo"

I did as the photographer instructed with light flashing constantly at my direction.

"Okay now a wide smile" I complied and smiled at the camera.

"Alright guys, wrap up, that's all for today" The director instructed.

I got off the podium and bowed at all the staffs that moved past me.

"Thank you, You've worked hard today" I repeated as I moved past them towards where my manager noona seem to be waiting for me with a proud smile.

"You did great hyunnie" she patted my head.

"Thanks noo--" Suddenly the power want off and darkness clouded us. I was about to panic but then I heard my team singing a 'birthday song' to me, and a small light seem to be coming from what looks like a cake was coming towards me.

I was blushing furiously as they sang to me.

"Saengil chukkae!" My teammates cheered as I blew the lights on the candles out after making a wish.

"Thank you!" I bowed my head repeatedly. "Thank you" The Editor noona who was the one holding the cake, handed it to me and distributed chop sticks to everyone. They digged in and we all ate from it with smiles on our faces.

After eating, I picked up my backpack from the changing room and stuffed my clothes inside it, not bothering to change out of the modeling clothes cause the director had told me that I got the clothes free from the sponsors as a birthday gift.

I made my way down with every one greeting me a 'HBD' as I moved past them . I replied them with a 'thank you' and got out of the building.

I stretched my hand to flag down a taxi when a sleek black car pulled in front of me. With a raised brow, I watched as the driver came out and bowed at me.

"Hello master Jihyun, I was sent by Young master Junmyeon to fetch you" I blushed at the word 'Master' but nonetheless, I nodded and entered the opened door.

Suddenly feeling awkward cause its been long, I got treated like this.
The last time I got treated like this was the day before we came to Korea and sad to say I don't actually miss my life in L.A.

Here I've gotten all I've ever wanted; To see my sister smiling, friends, family, love and scar free and I'm really glad I came.

My thoughts were interrupted by a text from my Sister.
"Where are you?"

I dialed her number immediately and after a few rings she picked up,

"Noona!" I called out with a smile on my face. My sister had been the first person to wish me a happy birthday this morning, she apologized for not being able to stay with me today cause of work and I reassured her that it was okay. On the other note, I was silently cheering that she wouldn't be at home cause I had a photo shoot today and she would have questioned if I went out cause she still doesn't know I work.

"Hello birthday boy, where are you?"

"I'm on my way to hyung's house he requested that I came, says its something important and I won't be home until later in the evening" I explained as I watch the driver divert to the road that leads to Kai hyungs apartment.

Sad to say, none of the hyungs wished me a happy birthday today not even Minhye and I'm quite sad.

Maybe they forgot or something.

But on a brighter note, my noona wished me and my work mates also did so no pressure cause at least someone remembered.

I heard her muttered an "oh cool" and I asked what she said cause it wasn't clear enough.

"Nothing! I mean have fun! And call me when you're on your way home I love you!" She ended the call before I could even reply.

"That's odd" I looked at my phone weirdly. She always waits for me to reply first before she hangs up.

Something's not right.

I was about calling her back when she sent me another text message.

"And happy birthday again, love ya lots. Mwah" I smiled and pocketed my phone just in time before the driver pulled in front of Jongin hyung's apartment building. He drove in and parked in the under ground parking lot.

I opened the door and got out. He got out and came towards me..

"Master Sehun said to text him when you get here"

"Oh okay" I searched for Sehun's number and texted him that I was downstairs.

"Have a nice day master Jihyun" the driver bowed at me. I mirrored his actions and bowed back. He moved to the side of the car and opened the driver seat's door. He was about to get in but then--

"Oh! And Happy Birthday " I thanked him with a smile and bowed as he drove out of the parking lot.

When I was certain he was out of sight, I turned around and walked towards the elevator.

Kai's POV.

"Yah hide he's coming!" Sehun shouted and we all hid.

"Someone close to the switch off the lights" Baekhyun that was close to the switch did as Suho hyung had requested and we all kept quiet.

D.O that was with the cake was still in the kitchen lighting the candles with Chen hyung.

"Guys are you all---he's here already!" Sehun scrambled towards the couch as we heard the punching of the pass code and a click.

"Hello?" We heard Jihyun muttered as he moved inside the house. I couldn't see his face due to the dark room but I was sure he's confused.

"Hyung?" He called out again, he was moving close to where we were. "Anyone home? Kai Hyung?"

Suho raised his hands up in a counting motion and I nodded at him, even though he couldn't see cause most of our eyes were on Jihyun.

"One, two, three!"

"Suprise!!!!" we cheered as the balloons of confetti popped above his head covering him with glitters, still with the light off.

Immediately, D.O and Chen moved out of the Kitchen with the cake and we began singing the 'birthday song'.

"Happy birthday to you~~~!!"

"Wohoo!!!" Sehun and Chanyeol popped the Mini gun confettis and someone switched on the light.

I looked at Jihyun to see him looking shocked at the cake and back at the hyungs. I smiled and moved him. I wrapped my hands around his shoulders and smiled at him.

"H-Hyung~" he called out with glassy eyes.

"Make a wish Jihyun" I patted his shoulders and he nodded. He closed his eyes and made a wish. After which he blew off the candles and we all cheered.

"Happy birthday JiHyun" I cooed.

"Thank you hyung!" He bro-hugged me.

"Group hug!" Baekhyun shouted and together we all squished the almost to tears Jihyun.

After the hyungs wished him a happy birthday and Jihyun thanked them, we all sat down on the couch with the desserts in our hands as we watch Lay and Chanyeol perform a birthday song for Jihyun.

I could see Jihyun moving his head softly to the beat with a smile on his face. He seems to be enjoying him self and I'm glad. Jihyun is like a younger brother to me and if he's happy then I'm also happy.

I smiled at him and turned to the two hyungs in front.

"Woah!" Jihyun stood up and clapped loudly at the two hyung's performances. He seemed to have enjoyed it.

We all joined him and clapped at the two hyung's performances.

"I didn't know you could play so well Hyung" Jihyun said to Chanyeol as he bro hugged him, "I knew Lay hyung could play but I didn't know you could!" He added.

Chanyeol ruffled his hair with one hand and the other holding firmly the strap of his guitar.
"Now you know Jihyun"

"Hyung that was so cool, you should teach me sometime" he turned to Lay hyung with glinting eyes.

"Sure" They both replied.

"Okay guys stop enjoying the limelight alone! We planned this together if you don't know JiHyun!" Baekhyun Hyung whined and we all burst out in laughter.

"Okay, time for gifts!" Tao shouted. "I got you the best gift in the universe Jihyun" He dragged a smiling Jihyun to the gift table and we all rolled our eyes as we followed them.

"Best gift my ass" Sehun mumbled beside me and I gave him a look. "I know right?"

"Yah! I heard that!" Tao shouted and we smiled sheepishly at each other.

"Heard what?" We moved towards them.

"That?" He answered as he handed a box to Jihyun.

"That what?" We asked teasingly.

"Hyung what's inside?" Jihyun asked Tearing off the gift wrapper.

Tao rolled his eyes at us and we stuck our tongue out at him.

"Open it Jihyun" we all watched Jihyun's expression as he opened it.

He looked at us with a raised brows but complied nonetheless. He opened the box and a gasp escaped his mouth.

"Oh m-my God!" He looked between the box and Tao hyung. " Hyung it's,... It's.... Oh my God!" He was shock.

"Yes..." Tao had a smug look on his face. "Yes, it's a limited edition Gucci shoe, hat has just 8 pairs in the whole wide world" He bragged.

We rolled our eyes at him. Jihyun was looking at the shoes with hearts in his eyes.

'Thank you hyung!" He hugged Tao and Tao patted his head saying, "Happy birthday Jihyun and you're welcome"

"Another Gucci lover, I see" Suho hyung added as we eyed the still -admiring- Gucci- shoes -Jihyun.

"if I knew he liked Gucci this much, I would have gotten him a product" Kris mumbled beside me and I nodded in agreement.

"Same" Some of the guys agreed.

"Okay, next!" D.O shouted frustrated at the fangirling JiHyun beside him.

"Hehehe sorry Hyung " JiHyun smiled sheepishly at him. "I got carried away".

"Yes obviously, now continue" Jihyun nodded and opened the next box which was smaller to the one Tao gave him.

I raised my eyebrows and looked around to see Baekhyun smiling. The rest of the guys had the same look as me.

"I swear you'll be really blown away!" Baekhyun shouted excitedly.

"Uh-oh" We muttered same thing, perfectly aware of what's in the box.

Jihyun opened and his eyes glimmered in excitement.
"Yay!! Thank you hyung!" He hugged Baekhyun who had a proud look on his face.

"I knew you'd like it buddy"

"I do totally!" Jihyun smiles as he twirled the box of eyeliner Baekhyun had given him. Since JiHyun tends to wear eyeliner often, it wasn't a surprise that he liked it.

"Okay next!" Kyungsoo hyung shouted again and Jihyun picked the next box which apparently was from Luhan and Chen.

"Ugh since we didn't know what to get you, we just bought that" Luhan rubbed his neck awkwardly.

"We?! I bought that myself, you just joined in at the last minute!" Chen hyung shouted making Us erupt in laughter and Luhan to blush in embarrassment.

"Haha its okay hyung" Jihyun patted Luhan Shoulder and proceeded to opening the gift.

"Oh! Its a gift voucher!" He looked at Hyung with a smile. "Thank you hyungs..." he hugged Chen and Luhan.

".. Even though you didn't actually get the gift yourself" Luhan laughed awkwardly.

"Next!"

Jihyun opened the next box and A designer Shirt came in sight, it was from Kris.

Lay gave him a Large Unicorn Plushie that I don't know where he got from.

D.O said the cake was his gift to him.

Chanyeol gave him a ticket to a Big Bang concert.

Suho didn't know what to get him, so he asked JiHyun to tell him what he wants so he can get it for him.

Minseok gave him unlimited coupon to free coffee and sweets in his cafe.

It was remaining Sehun and I.

"Um, I wanted to get you a bike but you're not legal yet so we decided to get you this, Sehun and I, I mean" I handed him the tickets.

"Its a plane ticket to Hawaii and we're paying for everything in your stay there" Sehun added and his mouth hung open in shock.

"Its a Three days stay for two people and you're leaving tomorrow"

"Two people?" He asked with raised brow.

"Yeah and you can go with your noona if you want" Sehun suggested. I saw Jihyun shake his head.

"No, she'll be busy but I have someone in mind" he smiled and we nodded.

"Alright then happy birthday again"

"Thank you hyungs, seriously for all of this--" he looked at all of us with a thankful smile and we returned the favor. "... This is like the best birthday party I've had in forever, I don't know how to repay you guys but thank you for making my day special--" he wiped the tears that were threatening to fall out and we laughed softly at him. "Thank you hyungs!"

"You're welcome saeng" Suho hyung patted his head and we all smiled at him.

"Group hug!" Chanyeol shouted and we all encircled him in the warmth of our body.

"Okay, in as much as this is nice.... " Suho started breaking out from the hug, "we still have a dinner party to attend" This made all of us scurry away from each other in realization.

"Oh shit!" Sehun cursed as he ran upstairs to my room.

I saw the confused look on Jihyun's and I moved to him.

"We kinda have a party to attend"

"Oh" he mumbled as he watch the guys run around the house searching for one thing or the other.

"Yeah, and our parents will go kinda ballistic on us if we don't go"

He smiled that cute smile of his and told me it was okay. I ruffled his hair and greeted him a happy birthday again.

"Okay guys, grab your stuffs and Jihyun's gift let's go!" Kris hyung shouted as he packed Jihyun's gift into a paper bag with Suho hyung and Lay closely doing the same.

"Kai catch!" I raised my hands instinctively and caught what Sehun was throwing at me. I looked at it and I was a Jacket. I muttered a thanks and helped the hyung carry Jihyun gifts to the car. The unicorn was the hardest to carry.

We all entered into the Van and Suho took the drivers seat while i sat in between Baekhyun and Lay. Jihyun was seating on the front seat beside Kris hyung for easy exit.

"We're going to drop Jihyun first before going okay?" Suho hyung said and a series of sures and yeahs were heard.

I looked at my wrist watch and found out that it was almost 5pm, I sighed and closed my eyes.

The stepping of the brakes jerked me up from my slumber, I looked out and found out we were in front of Jihyun's apartment which coincidentally was also JinHee's apartment.

My heart beat Skipped a beat at the thought of her and I came down.

"Kai" Chen hyung called my name. I turned to see him giving me a weird look.

"Isn't this where JinHee also lives?" He whispered. I rolled my eyes at him and turned to Jihyun that was smiling at us.

"Thank you for today Hyungs" he smiled at us. "I had tons of fun"

"That's good Saeng, See you later" We all took turned to ruffle his hair and entered the car, to which he complained at.

He pouted as he saw his reflection on the vans mirror, his hair was a little bit messed up.

We laughed at him and waved as Suho turned on the engine.

"Bye Jihyun, and a Happy birthday again " we all waved.

"Bye hyungs and thanks for the gifts" he raised the paper bags up and adjusted the unicorn plushie with a smile.

We constantly waved at him until he was out of sight.

"He's such a cutie" Suho muttered from the front seat.

I looked at him from the rear view mirror with a smile.

"I know right?"

JiHyun's POV

I got into the elevator and kept all the gifts on the floor beside me. I brought out my phone and texted my sis that I was in the elevator already. She replied me with an 'okay' and I smiled and pocketed my phone.

I got out of the elevator and stride towards our apartment with a smile on my face.

I can't wait to tell Minhye About today.

"Minhye"

A frown came on my face when I thought of MinHye.

She haven't even talked to me today. No calls, no text whatsoever. She didn't even wish me a happy birthday.

I wonder why?

With a gloomy face, I typed in my pass code.

"Did I do something wrong?"

I heard a click and I entered into the house, that was somewhat dark.

"Is noona not home yet?" I dropped the gifts on the floor there and moved towards the switch.

I was about switching the lights on when someone beat me to it. I saw two pair of feet and I looked up to be met with the beautiful smiles radiating from My sister and my best friend.

"Minhye--" My eyes widened as I saw her smiling broadly at me with a cake in hand.

"Surprise!!!!"
