Chapter 27- Heartbeat

Kai's POV

We sat there in silence as I closed my eyes.

I was on the verge of going deep in slumber when a loud bang startled me.

"Someone help!! We're inside here" She shouted as she banged on the door continuously.

I rolled my eyes.

I wanted to tell her that that wasn't necessary and they won't hear her but I didn't, I let her be.

I watched her as she banged continuously on the door while shouting for someone to help us out of here-which I know won't be possible as its a weekend and the whole staff have probably gone home.

The only people that might still be in school are the security guards which I'm sure won't hear this as their security post is far from here and moreover the walls and doors of this school are soundproofed.

"Dammit!!" She shouted as she slumped down few meters beside me.

I was waiting for this.

"I don't think they'll hear" I said.

"Mmm" she answered as she rested her hands on her knees that was clocked together and her head resting on the hands as were engulfed in silence.

The only sounds I could her were the sound of the A/C.

She stayed like this for a few seconds as I looked at the door silently wishing for someone to suddenly open the door.

I was looking immensely at the door, when she raised her head abruptly startling me and muttered "cellphone!".

She scrambled towards where we dropped our bags and brought out her phone.

"Shit! low battery!" She said as she irritatedly threw the phone into the backpack as she grabbed her hair.

"Do you have your phone with you?" She asked as she turned to look at me. Her gray eyes glistening with hope as she looked at me.

I silently brought out my phone, from my pockets and gave it to her.

She collected it and  typed furiously on it as she put the phone against her ear.

"The subscriber you're calling is not answering " I heard the network provider say.

I wonder who she called.

"Dammit Sehun pick up the fucking phone!" She shouted as she paced around the room with the phone in Her hand.

"She called sehun?" I thought as a frown made its way to my face. I suddenly felt annoyed.

"He won't answer " I said making her turn towards me.

"What?" She asked

"He won't answer the Phone" I told her. "We aren't on good terms, so he won't pick up"

"Oh!" Realization dawned upon her features as she looked at me.

"We're stuck here till Monday then" she said softly as she plumbed beside me with a sigh.

"Together" she added.

"We can call one of the hyungs" I said as I opened my palms for her to give me my phone.

"Why didn't I think of that?" She asked as she handed me the phone.

I collected the phone and saw that it was 1%, I quickly called Chanyeol hoping he'll pick up and I'll ask him for help before the phone dies.

"Yo! Watsup?" I heard him say as he picked up.

"Hyung!" I shouted causing Jin Hee to look hopefully at me.

"Hyung i need your help with something, we're in---" I heard the dial tone as the phone switched off.

"Dammit!" We both shouted at the same time. I tried to switch it on but it didn't work so I just abandoned it.

"I guess we're really staying here for the weekend" Jinhee said as she looked up.

"I guess so" I answered as I drifted off to my thoughts.

If I didn't text Sehun in class, my phone wouldn't have gotten low and we wouldn't be in this mess right now.

Heck if I didn't get into a fight with Sehun none of this would have happened.

If i had known I wouldn't have talked about loving JinHee to Sehun.
I would have just kept quiet and we would have avoided this mess.

I can't believe I'll be spending the night and probably the rest of the weekend with The one girl I had detested so much -yes had.

I don't hate her anymore I guess, but I can't say I like her for now.

I mean she's not even my type to even begin with, I like shy, calm,quiet, soft pretty girls with proclain structure, I like damsels in distress and JinHee is just the opposite of all the things I like in a girl.

Shy? She isn't even close to being shy.

Calm? She's crazy and acts like a boy.

Soft? She freaking glared at me so no she ain't soft.

Damsel in distress? No. Have you seen her hitting the boys? no seriously she even took down those girls in the bathroom alone so no she ain't Even close to being a damsel in distress.

Yes she's pretty and has a nice body and eyes but no she isn't my type and I'll like for it to remain like that.

"Wait... Why am I even thinking of this?" I thought as I looked at her.

We've been sitting here for at least 6 hours, without talking.

We were both not the talking type and moreover we don't really get along to even talk about anything. So we let the silence engulf us.

She looked perfect as the light coming from the small opening glistened on her facial features making her look even beautiful .

She had her eyes closed with her head up, her bangs covering her forehead, Her long eyelashes shadowing his eyes, her small pointed nose that looked perfect as she inhaled, her plump full lips that softly parted as she breathed out.

She's beautiful.

"You're going crazy Jongin" I said softly to myself.

It had gotten fairly dark outside and she was sleeping.

I noticed how she rubbed her arms here and then softly as she slept, probably because of the cold.

I stood up as quietly as I could not to wake her up and switched off the Air conditioner.

I switched it off and sat back down.

I watched her sleep as light snores escaped her mouth.

"She looks cute" I thought as my heart did a silly Jump.

"What am I doing?"I asked my self.

Few minutes ago I was thinking on how she wasn't my type and now am here thinking of how cute she looks when she's asleep.

I must be really crazy.

I think I should get some sleep, maybe the fact that I'm in a room alone with her is affecting my brain.

I was about to close my eyes when I saw her rub her arms again.

She must still be feeling cold.

I watch her softly as her head moved slowly to the side and it fell. "Uh" she mumbled and kept it up back.

This repeated for 5 to 6 times until it stopped.

I was about to breathe out of relief,  when her head started falling sideways again.

"Ohhh--" I looked at it as it slowly fell. If her head touches the pillar that was beside her she might get injured and it might swell.

"Ohhh--" I panicked as I didn't know what to do. Her head was slowly coming down.

"Screw this!" I softly shouted as I stood up and used my hand to stop her head as it stopped few meters away from the pillar.

I pushed her head slowly backwards and she stirred making me suddenly freeze.

"What if wakes up?" I panicked.

"She'll surely misunderstand"

I was going to move away from her when she stopped stirring.

"Whew!" I thought as I slowly dropped her head on my shoulder.

I removed my Jacket and draped it around her as she was still rubbing her arms.

I looked at her face for a few seconds and my hands unconsciously made its way to her hair. I softly stroked it as i tucked a stray hair behind her hair, moving her bangs out of her face as i admired her flawless face- don't tell anyone I said that though.

I got comfortable and was on the verge of going to sleep when she stirred.

"Nghhhh Warm" she muttered as she snuggled further into my neck.

My heart beat accelerating as I felt her breath on my neck.

"Fuck"

"What are you doing to me JinHee?" I thought as I shifted and she snuggled further. My heart skipping a beat as she did this. I could feel my face heating up.

"She has weird sleeping habit" I thought as I drifted off to sleep.

Not forgetting to also pray that I'll wake up first so I can move away from her to avoid any kind of misunderstanding.

A loud scream woke me up from my deep slumber.

I looked around panicked for the cause of the scream but I didn't see any suspicious thing apart from the struggling green haired girl beside me.

"No! You can't do this!" She shouted as she trashed around.

"JinHee!" I shouted shaking her lightly.

"No! leave him! Don't! don't! Junior!!"

"JinHee!" I shouted pushing her shoulders lightly.

"Mom!No! No!No don't!" She shouted as tears rolled down her eyes.

Dammit! I was beginning to lose my cool.

"Wake up JinHee!" She didn't answer,  she continued trashing.

"JinHee!" I shouted slapping her cheeks softly.

"Jin!"

Her eyes flew open as she looked around, fear evident in her eyes as fresh tears poured out.

"Its okay, It was just a nightm--" my words got cut off as she lunged at me with her arms wrapped around me.

I froze as she hugged me.

I could hear My heart hammering fast against my chest.

It was as if My brain suddenly stopped functioning and my heart would burst out of my chest anytime soon.

I came back to my senses when I felt something wet on my chest.

She was crying.

"Shh... Its okay. It was just a nightmare" my hands hesitantly snaked around her as I patted her back.

"Its okay" I cooed as I drew small circles around her back.

She was beginning to calm down.

I whispered nonsense nothings to her as her sobs reduced to light hiccups. 

"Its okay, I'm here.you're okay" I said as I stroked her back.

"I-I---" she tried speaking as she started crying again.

"Hey, stop crying it was just a nightmare " I said but she just cried harder into my chest.

I sat down on the floor and hauled her on my lap. She removed her head from my chest and buried her face into my neck, Making all the butterflies in my stomach dance together and my heartbeat to accelerate.

"Shh shhh"I repeated. 

Her crying reduced to small sniffing as I stroked her back.

The position we were in was inappropriate but I didn't care at that time.

All i wanted was for her to calm down.

I wanted to calm her down.

Her breathing became even and I heard light snores.

I looked down at her and saw that she was fast asleep. 

I tried removing her arms that were  wrapped tightly around my neck but she stirred and held on tighter.

She's scared.

"I'm not leaving, its okay, I'm not leaving " I said softly as I shifted for me to get comfortable.

She relaxed as she fell deep into slumber. Her hands still wrapped tightly around my neck as she slept.

I can't believe I'm actually doing this, comforting somebody - who isn't even close to being my friend I mean-sitting on my laps with my arms wrapped around her in a comforting hug. 

I looked at her closely as she slept on my lap, her hands securely around my neck like I was her- I don't even want think about it.

But it didn't matter, I know what she was going through, I know how it feels to wake up from a terrible nightmare without anyone by your side.

I know how I always wish someone would be there to hug and comfort me until I fall back asleep whenever I get drastic Nightmares.

I know how she feels right now.

I sat comfortably and unwrapped one of my hands from her tiny waist and closed my eyes as i waited for sleep to take over. 

But I knew it wouldn't come soon, with the rate at which my heart is beating, I don't think I'll be getting any sleep tonight.

Hopefully, I'll wake up first so she won't misunderstand and Kill me before I can explain.

Cause this is all so new to me....

It was a new feeling and I was scared it wasn't going to end soon.

I hated what I was feeling and I badly want it to stop.

I hated it.

"Never in my whole 17 years of life, have I ever imagined that I'll be doing this"

How was it? I don't even know what came over me or what I even wrote though... Just hope you liked it.

So what does this mean???.... Is Jongin falling for JinHee or is it a Spur of the moment thingy?? Haha stay tuned to find out.

And any guesses on how JinHee will react when she finds out she slept in Kai's arms(kyaaaaaaa) and how she hugged him like a koala bear scared for its dear life? Hahaha comment your thoughts... I love them.
