Because that day, fate was changed.

Clotho spun the thread, Lachesis would dispense it, and Atropos would cut it. That was always how it worked, and it was supposed to be like that forever.

Until that happened, it was supposed to work like that forever.

The fates felt no sympathy, no remorse, no pain, and they almost never felt anger. They were emotionless, or impassive, one could say. But even they felt the deep despair that the whole world should've felt when fate itself spiraled out of their control.

Was it Gaia? No. It was a boy, maybe 16. The one with sea-green eyes; the one who the fates remembered watching as Atropos cut a life string, the one that belonged to a son of Hermes.

He shouldn't have been that powerful. But he was. And when things went wrong, he used his blade, riptide. And the strings... Almost half got cut.

And the fates themselves? They were overpowered. Because when the life strings weren't in their hands, they were powerless compared to Perseus Jackson.

And that's how the fate of the world became endangered.

----

long ago, i became a hero, a hero with a hella pride
then fate changed it's mind, decided to see my breaking point.
once upon a time, fate stabbed me once
so now i'm gonna show it how to kill someone twice
