Swapping POVs

The first little part will be in Chase's POV but the rest is Kaz's. It was meant to swap back and forth but I don't know. Also, I'm sorry for some of the stuff I wrote here. Some of it was written at like 6 in the morning and I thought it would be funny to throw them in.

-------------------------

Chase POV

I let out a little groan as I stretch. "Hey, Leo I'm gonna go get some food. If Bree asks I watched her whole race." I say standing up.

"You're going to miss your sister's race? What a great brother." Leo says rolling his eyes.

"I've been to like three of her races every year since she learnt how to run. I can miss one. Plus if Adam gets to miss it, I can too." I say before jogging down the steps of the bleachers.

I slowly walk into the school building, passing people who chat against the walls. The halls of the unknown school are winding like a maze but I do my best to find the cafeteria.

I step past a hallway before getting smoke blown into my face. I cough trying to get some fresh air into my lungs.

"What the fuck dude?!" I yell grabbing the cigarette out of the dude's hand and stomping it out. "Don't fucking smirk inside! Don't fucking smoke at all. Do you know how bad these things are?"

"What? Hey!" The dude responds frowning. He shakes his head with a soft, "Whatever." He pulls out a pack of cigarettes and opens it.

I glare at him and take the box, moving four steps and throwing it in the trash.

"Um, what the fuck?" He responds. "These are mine." He says, taking them out and reopening them.

"I don't care. Do you not have any self-preservation? Or care for others?" I grab the box again and stomp on it before picking it up and throwing it out again. "Second-hand smoke is just as bad. If you're gonna smoke do it outside." I groan walking off.

He scoffs but follows me. "Well, I would if you didn't just destroy my pack. I need some repayment." He grabs my wrist and pulls me down the hallway he was just hiding in.

"Woah hey, I'm not gonna buy you cigarettes." I say as he pushes me against the wall.

He smirks. "You're a goody goody, aren't you? What's a dork like you doing at a sports festival? Did they add chess to the lineup?" He laughs.

"It's none of your business, but I'm actually competing tomorrow. Gymnastics and karate. Also, I have siblings who are competing today. Speaking of which, I'm going to miss my sister's race, bye." I say trying to walk away.

He laughs. "You were walking away from the field dude." He says pinning my arms. "Plus, you haven't repaid me yet." He moves his hand up to my face, running his thumb over my lip.

I blush, taking a gulp and pressing myself further against the wall. "What are you-"

I'm cut off by his lips against mine. Taking a breath in surprise my lungs are filled with the scent of smoke. I press my hands against his chest to half-heartedly try and push him away. His lips move roughly against mine, causing me to part my lips slightly. I feel my stress disappear as I give in, unable to do anything other than kiss back. He smirks at the movement, cupping his hand on the back of my neck, and presses his body into mine, deepening the kiss and causing a squeak of surprise.

He pulls back after a while and checks his phone. "Ah, shit. She's probably finished. Sorry, cutie, got to go. But ah, you're here tomorrow?" He asks, and I nod, somewhat confused. "Great, you'll finish repaying me with lunch, see you then." He says with a wink before running off.

I lean against the wall trying to catch my breath and process what just happened. Eventually, I recovered enough to walk back out to the field. The actual fresh air hit me, cleansing my lungs. I slowly walk over to my family, somewhat dazed, as Bree pouts.

"Where were you, Chase?" She asks as I stop.

I look up at her. "I was..."

"Yeah, Chase? Where's your food?" Leo asks before turning to Adam, who had joined them after his wrestling match, with a smirk.

"Oh, I know!" Adam says excitedly. "You were in a hallway making out with some dude." He teases with a laugh.

I blush. "What?"

"Don't try and deny it, Chase. I saw you two on my way out here. You were pressed against a wall." He says shaking his head.

Bree steps closer to me and sniffs. "And you kinda smell like smoke. I know you don't smoke, so... Who is he?" She asks excitedly.

"I..." I look down. "Let's just go!" I say walking off.

"Oh my god. You don't know who he is? Scandalous!" She laughs as we all walk back to Adam's car to head to our hotel.

"Shut up!" I groan while the others laugh behind me.

~

Kaz POV

I run out to see Skylar pass the finish line first. I smile and cheer running over to her. "Yes, Sky!" I laugh.

She wraps me in a hug as Oliver jogs over to us. "That was so awesome Skylar!" He says excitedly. "It was such a close race." He explains.

She smiles out of breath as we walk over to the bleachers, her name being called over the speaker as the winner. "Come on, celebratory ice cream." She says pulling Oliver along past the seats.

"Don't you want to sit down?" I ask and she just shakes her head. I follow them to the cafeteria and grab an ice cream. "For Skylar, our sports Queen!" I say raising a spoonful in the air before taking a bite.

~

The next morning I wake up extra early, or at least early for me. Skylar is or was the only reason for me to go to this stupid thing but the thought of seeing that guy in a leotard made me rise in more ways than one.

I head over to the school for the gymnastics performances that start at ten. Unfortunately, the women go first, and there are a lot of them. I sit down, watching them half-heartedly, when I hear, "Men's gymnastics pommel horse starting on the east side of the gym."

"There we go." I say standing up and moving over to the correct spot to watch. Surprisingly not many people cared about the men.

The announcer starts naming the guys as they show up, finally getting to "Chase Davenport, from Mission Creek High." I look over and there he is.

"Chase, huh? Fitting name." I chuckle before sitting in shock at his body. 'How is this nerd so fit?'

I watch as he swings his legs over the thing, holding himself up with his arms. I sit in amazement as his body goes completely parallel to the ground. At some points, he's only using one hand to keep his entire body in the air.

I hear cheering behind me. "Whoo! Go, Chase!" I turn around to see a small group of people clapping as he finishes.

I turn back and clap along. 'She must be his sister.' I think before seeing them move to the next event. I slowly join them, trying not to be noticed as someone who's watching him.

This event is called Vault? He runs at full speed down a runway before jumping on a springboard and completing a flip, pushing off the thing in front of him. He lands almost perfectly only taking a slight step backwards. His group cheer again.

I follow them to a few more events before the announcer says the gymnastics are completed for the day. I stand up and walk out of the gym as my phone goes off.

"Hello?" I answer.

"Hey, Kaz. You sound awake." Oliver laughs. "Do you need me to pick you up for Skylar's karate?"

I chuckle. "No, I'm already here."

"What? Already? Why?" He asks confused.

I smile. "I just woke up early and decided to come. I'll meet you guys at the door to wish her luck."

"Okay, sounds good. See ya."

"Bye." I say hanging up. I walk out the front door and to the gate, taking out a cigarette and smoking it while waiting for my friends to show up.

"Kaz!" Skylar says walking into the school.

"Hey, Sky." I smile. "You ready to kick some butt?"

She chuckles. "You know it."

Oliver walks over and gives me one of those guy handshakes/hugs. "Dude, seriously why were you here so early?"

"Oh you know, checking out the gymnasts." I half-joke. He rolls his eyes. "Oh hey, Skylar, question? Is the karate split or is it mixed? Like do I get to see you beat a guy?"

She smiles. "Yeah, it's mixed. It goes by class weight and then the winners of each class go head to head."

"Cool." I say as we walk towards the changing room. "Hey, we'll see you out there, good luck girl." I say patting her back.

"Thanks." She says before disappearing into the changing room.

We head off back to the gym, which has surprisingly been slightly packed up, to switch out the sports; the mat still lies in the middle of the floor now with another four smaller mats on top of it.

"That must be the spot." Oliver says as we walk to the bleachers in front of the mat and we take our seats.

I watch as people walk out in their gis and start to warm up. I see Chase walk over to his group chatting with them as he stretches. He laughs looking down before being called over to a mat.

Skylar skips out, waving at us, walking to her mat, and doing some warm-ups as well before the matches start.

I try to watch both matches, but my eyes are drawn to Chase's. He moves so elegantly, each move precise as he dodges and blocks moves while throwing punches and kicks as if he were performing Kata and not sparring.

He does a sweeping kick knocking his opponent to the floor before helping them up and bowing in respect. His group cheer loudly.

"That's my puny little brother!" The tall guy yells. Chase turns to him and makes an upset face. I chuckle.

"What's so funny?" Oliver asks his eyes never leaving Skylar.

"Oh, just some dude in one of the matches got called puny by his brother. The look on his face when he heard that was hilarious." I say.

"Why aren't you watching Skylar?"

"Because I know she's going to win and I want to check out her competition." I say covering.

He nods as if he only half heard me. I sigh as Chase jogs off the mat to get a drink as the next match in his class starts. I turn my head to watch Skylar and she pins a dude to the mat, winning her match.

The matches go by, and after half an hour, we're down to the class on class matches; Skylar and Chase both win those matches and now they have to spar with each other.

'Great now I have to choose a side.' I sigh. Before perking up. 'But now I can watch both of them at the same time.'

"Kick his butt Skylar!" Oliver yells.

I smirk. "Yeah, show that loser who's boss!" I yell standing up. They both look over at me. Skylar gives us a thumbs up, but Chase freezes; he recognises me.

I wave at him as Skylar turns away. I smirk harder and sit back down.

"Woah, what's your beef with this guy?" Oliver asks.

I shrug. "Nothing. I just want Sky to win."

He nods, confused, but focuses on as the match begins. They're going pretty head to head, with Chase occasionally slipping as he catches a glimpse of me, frowning every time. Eventually, she gets the better of him, and he falls to the ground. She helps him up, them both bowing as we run over to her.

"You were a worthy opponent, I'm glad you won." Chase says smiling and shaking her hand.

"Yeah, you deserve it Sky." I say, placing a hand on her shoulder but staring into Chase's eyes.

He glares at me. "Next time it would be nice to spar without the hecklers." He grumbles.

"What? Me? He called you puny!" I say, pointing to the tall guy in the group who is walking over to us.

"Uh, Kaz do you know this guy?" Oliver asks.

The tall guy laughs. "Hey wait, aren't you the-"

Chase covers his mouth. "Nope. I'm going to change; it was a pleasure sparring with you, Skylar." Chase says bowing again before running off.

I look at the tall guy, confused, before laughing. "Oh! You saw that yesterday? Huh, yeah, I am." I smile. "Wait, he owes me lunch! Uh, I'll be back. All of you meet us in the cafeteria. Once you've changed, of course, Sky." I say running off to follow Chase, not waiting for a response.

I walk into the changing room. "Oh, Chase~! You still owe me lunch!" I call, walking through the few cases of lockers before finding him shirtless.

He sighs. "Can't you wait outside? I'm trying to change." He groans.

"Do you always have a stick up your ass?" I chuckle.

He glares at me. "You would, too, if you were basically keeping your school's reputation on your shoulders single-handedly." He groans.

I look at him confused. I go to speak but he continues.

"Chase, do gymnastics, do karate, chess club, science, debate, Mathletics!" He mimics someone rudely. "I didn't even want to come to this stupid thing, but my siblings were in events too, so I had to." He grumbles pulling on a shirt.

"Woah, you need to unwind dude." I chuckle placing a hand on his shoulder.

"No, what I need to do is fall off the face of the earth so I don't have to have so many responsibilities. Why should a sixteen-year-old have to be responsible if our school gets into state-wide competitions?" He says shrugging my hand off. He looks at me before grabbing his pants out of the locker and heading into a toilet stall.

"Aw, come on. You're not going to change in front of me?" I tease.

"Fuck off pervert!" He yells.

I just laugh, sitting on a bench, and wait for him to walk out of the stall; he zips up his bag before turning back to me. "Why are you still here?"

I tilt my head in confusion. "Lunch?"

"I didn't say I was going to buy you lunch." He frowns.

I hum and sigh. "Then how else do you wish to repay me?" I tease.

He sighs. "Haven't I done enough?" He whines.

I stand up and walk over to him pushing him against the locker. "Oh, that?" I lift my hand to his chin, tilting it slightly down so we're making eye contact. "That was just insurance, interest if you will. You still need to pay me."

"Can't I just actually pay you, to leave me alone?" He asks blush spread over his features.

I laugh. "Cute. No, I don't actually care about the cigarettes. You're going to repay the emotional pain you created by swearing at me and destroying my shit." I lean in closer, moving my hand to his shirt and pulling him towards me. "You buy me lunch and we're even. Unless you can think of a better way?" I say lowly.

He gulps. "Lunch, it is. Let's go." He weakly smiles.

I shake my head. "I don't know, this entire exchange has caused me some more emotional pain. Might need to add some more interest." I say, moving my free hand to his waist and walking him back against the locker.

"Wh-what do you want now?" He asks nervously but I can see his eyes flick to my lips.

I smirk and chuckle. "What do you think I want?" He goes to speak but I stop him, placing a finger to his lips. "What do you want?" I say dragging my finger down to pull at his bottom lip and resting my hand back on his chin.

"Uh..." He says, his brain obviously lagging or fighting itself or something. His eyes shift to mine back down to my lips.

"You're your school's star pupil? You can't even tell me what you want or make a full sentence." I laugh rubbing my thumb against his chin with a sigh. "I guess another kiss will have to do." I say dramatically.

"Oh-kay." He stutters.

I laugh. "I love how quickly you turn to mush in my hands. You were rude and defiant not even a minute ago and now look at you, so obedient. No wonder you're school takes advantage of you." I whisper before pulling his lips into mine.

He gives in quicker this time, kissing back softly. I hum into the kiss, cupping his neck and pulling his waist against me, pressing our bodies together. I run my fingertips through the short hair at the base of his head, causing a quick shutter from him as he grabs onto the bottom hem of my shirt.

I feel my stomach rumble and pull back with a sigh leaning my head down. "I guess it's time for some food." I say softly.

I look up at his face, his unmoving hands still bundled in my shirt. It almost looks like he's pouting. Though it's hard to tell, he seems to always look like he's pouting. I pull my hand from his neck and run my thumb over his bottom lip again looking down at it.

"Oh, ~Kitten~. How I wish to continue this, but you really do need to buy me lunch." I tease softly.

He frowns and pushes me away. "Whatever. Let's go." He mumbles grabbing his bag and walking towards the door.

I laugh. "What? You're mad? You supposedly didn't even want to kiss me. So why the frowny face?" I laugh following him.

He hikes his bag up onto his shoulder and leaves the changing room. I walk behind him with my hands in my pockets.

"You know..." I start. "You don't even know my name, Chase."

"You're name is Kaz, your friend called you that before you followed me." He says flatly.

I nod. "Okay, so you do know my name." I mumble.

We walk into the cafeteria seeing both of our groups sitting together. "There you two are." The tall guy says before laughing. "Were you making out again?" He teases.

I can see Chase blush. "No, we were discussing how, apparently, I have to buy him lunch." He gruffs. He throws his bag down on the floor. "Come on." He says, walking off, not bothering to wait for me.

I sigh and shrug. "Chase, wait!" I say jogging after him. "You lied to them." I tease leaning into his space. "I thought goody-goodies were meant to always tell the truth."

"Please, no one can tell the truth all the time." He scoffs. "Plus, they're my siblings; I'm meant to lie to them, especially about stuff like that."

"Aww, are you embarrassed?" I say as we stand in line.

He rolls his eyes. "What do you want?" He asks looking at the menu.

I lean into his ear. "You know what I want." I whisper.

"For lunch dipshit." He says pinching the bridge of his nose.

"Oh!" I look over at the menu. "Uh, get me... A hotdog. Thanks."

"Yeah, whatever." He says stepping forward to order.

I step out of line and wait off to the side. I smile as he brings the food over to me. I take a hotdog and bite a piece off. "Ah, so good!"

He frowns holding his own hotdog. "Aren't you bad boys meant to be stoic and cold? You just got excited over a hotdog." He starts to walk off but waits for me to follow.

I laugh. "I never said I was a bad boy. But I could be if you like." I say with a wink.

He rolls his eyes again. "Well, I never said I was a goody goody, but you typecast me anyway, so whatever."

"Aww, adorable. I was right though. Anyway, just because I smoke doesn't mean anything. Ask my friend they'll tell you I'm a dork." I snort taking another bite.

"Yeah, I can see that." He mumbles before rushing off to the table and sits down in the last chair.

"What, where am I meant to sit?" I pout.

"Oops, guess you'll have to eat alone." Chase says sarcastically.

"Chase! That's not very nice. Say sorry to our new friend." The other guy in their group jokingly scolds him.

I decide to play along. "Oh, it's okay. I know he won't apologise. He's just mean and stuck up." I say sticking my tongue out. "I'm Kaz by the way." I say smiling before taking another bite.

"I'm Leo, Chase's stepbrother. These are our siblings Adam and Bree." Leo says pointing to them.

"Leo, don't give him more information. He might stalk us." Chase grumbles.

Bree slaps his arm. "Dude. What is your problem?"

Adam puts his hand on her shoulder. "Relax, Chase is just embarrassed to have a boyfriend."

"Adam!" Chase yells.

Skylar laughs. "I didn't know you were dating someone Kaz." She teases. "Hi, Chase nice to meet you. I'm Skylar and that's Oliver." She says jokingly holding out her hand.

Chase just looks around the table and covers his face. "I don't need any more people to mess with me, please." He says to no one in particular.

I laugh. "This is all your fault, Chase."

He sits up and glares at me. "My fault?!" He practically yells. "It's my fault that you're an irresponsible deviant who smokes inside of school buildings?"

I lean on the table looking down at him. "You stomped on my cigarettes!"

"You shouldn't even be smoking!" He stands up, his hotdog is now to the wayside, on the table.

I lean back. "Actually you know what? Maybe it's Adam's fault. He made up this whole rumour." I say pointing to him.

"Woah, hey!" He puts his hands up in surrender. "I didn't make anything up."

Chase turns his head to face his brother. "You had to open your big mouth!"

'Is it wrong to find him so hot when he's worked up like this? Maybe.' I laugh, quickly pulling the chair out from under him and sitting down. Everyone chuckles as he stops and looks down at me.

"My chair!" He frowns.

Oliver raises a hand. "So, uh, is he always this childish? Because I mean Kaz is, but..."

"I am not childish; in fact, I'm probably the most mature person at this table." Chase rebutts stomping away to grab another chair.

Leo leans over the table to whisper slightly. "He is normally the mature one but he gets flustered easily." He laughs.

"Don't I know it?!" I mumble shoving the last of my hotdog in my mouth. "Ah, Chase, you're back." I say with my mouth still full.

He makes a grossed-out face and sits down next to me since it's the only spot big enough for another chair. "Don't talk with your mouth full."

I swallow the food and nod. "Yes, sir!"

Bree leans over to interrupt. "You do realise neither of you denied dating?"

"We're not dating!" Chase says frustrated. "I don't even know this guy."

"You brought him lunch?" Leo points out.

"To repay for his cigarettes that I stomped on after he blew smoke in my face."

"Was that before or after you made out in the hallway?" Adam asks grinning.

"Oh!" I butt in. "The stomping was before. Obviously, the buying lunch was after." I say adding fuel to the fire.

Adam nods as Chase just glares at me. "Good, one of you is telling the truth. And in the changing room?"

"Nothing!" Chase says before I can speak.

"Now, now Chase. We only had a discussion about the repayments. Lunch was just to finalise it, so now we're even." I say trying to sound serious. "Plus what happens behind closed doors stays there."

"If we're even, you can leave me alone now." Chase sighs turning away.

I smile and lean into his ear to whisper again. "You wouldn't want that now would you ~kitten~?" I tease, blowing lightly into his ear.

He whips his head around to me. "Don't call me that!" He growls lowly.

I smirk and make a little clawing motion with my hand. "Why not?" I ask at a normal volume.

I can see the rest of our two groups look at each other. "Maybe it's just their weird flirting ritual." Skylar jokes. "We should leave them alone."

Chase looks at them. "Please don't leave me with him." He whines dramatically.

I shake my head. "You guys were here first. We'll go have our discussion somewhere else." I say, standing up and grabbing his arm, pulling him along.

"Guys, help!" He calls trying not to trip backwards.

"Have fun!" Adam calls after us before we hear him go, "Oh, Chase left his hotdog! Score!"

Chase sighs realising no one has even tried helping him. He turns and walks next to me. "What good they are! So much for protecting their family. Now I'm stuck with some pervert." He grumbles.

"Feisty! You can drop your guard Kitten. It's just me." I say as we step out into the sports field, now empty.

"I told you not to call me that!"

I laugh pulling him under the bleachers. "You didn't complain the first time."

"I was in shock." He snides. "Plus... Nevermind."

"Plus I had ruined the moment? Sweet. But you are just like a kitten, pretending to be big and tough. Hissing empty threats. But the moment someone pats you the right way..." I run my fingers along his jawline and he freezes, his features soften. "You purr and become putty in their hands."

"No, I... Don't." He says his words slowly as he relaxes. "Shut up!" He blushes.

"Happily." I say pulling his lips to mine.

He tries to resist but gives in bringing his hands up to my neck as I move mine down to his waist, holding him closer. I tilt my head to get better access before licking his lips and asking for entrance. Which he reluctantly gives, opening his mouth and gasping as my tongue enters his mouth. His warm mouth is a cave for my tongue to explore.

He makes little mewling sounds as I pull him even closer against me, walking backwards to lean in a pole. My hands rubbing circles on the small of his back.

The kiss is warm and deep, his scent becoming intoxicating. I hum happily and his fingers run through the short hair on the back of my head. Kissing passionately, I can feel my lungs burn but I push through it until I need a gasp of air.

I put my hands on his hips and softly pull him off me; he takes a step back and looks over at me, panting softly. He wipes off the saliva on his lips with the back of his hand before making a face and rubbing it on his shirt.

I chuckle at him and pull out my pack of cigarettes to have a smoke, leaning against the pole.

I watch as he stomps forward. He grabs the cigarettes and stomps on them without hesitation. "Oops, guess I gotta repay you again." He says innocently.

"Oh, I think you do!" I smirk taking a step towards him.

Hi, fun fact: I did one of these sports growing up, not at the competition level, though. Can you guess which one? It's probably pretty easy considering I used somewhat actual terms.

Anyway, I woke up at 6 am and just felt like writing this, even though I came up with this story about a month ago. So, um, if some of my choices throw you for a loop, blame early morning/tired me for having little to no filter.

I feel like the makeout scenes are so short, but like, yeah.

Tsundere Chase? Yes, please. Flirty Kaz? *Chef's kiss*

P.S. Do you guys like these "longer" stories from me? I remember when I used to struggle to write 500 words, and now I'm pumping out 5,000-word stories.
