"I can't believe you dragged me out here at three in the morning." I yawned tiredly, leaning my head against the side of the car window.

"Drag is a strong word. I prefer the term convinced." Chase responded, glancing at me every so often.

We were currently just driving to god knows where. Chase refuses to tell me where we're heading off to because he says and I quote, 'I want it to be a surprise'.

Looking over at him, I said, "Can you please just tell me where we're going. I hate being left in the dark."

Chase smiled but continued driving through the night. He wasn't going to tell me anytime soon which irked me.

Though I could deal with it.

"I can't believe this." I said, stepping out of the car.

Chase lifted up the hood and checked inside as I tried to find a signal. Mr. Davenport's hydrogen car stopped suddenly in the middle of nowhere and plus, there's no signal here.

Great, just great.

When I deemed that it was official that there was no signal up here, I walked over and stood besides Chase as he tried to find the problem to the car stopping. That is, until I saw the night sky.

The moon was full and glowing like it was it's own spotlight and the stars. The stars looked like a screensaver on the computer but just more real. You don't really get to see this when you live in the city. On the academy, it just depends on how many lights are on.

Wrapping my arms around my body, I began walking away from the front of the car and sat down on the trunk. My thin long sleeve shirt did nothing to stop the cold from creeping it's way in but I didn't mind. The night sky was a distraction enough.

"It's beautiful." I whispered wistfully.

"Yeah, it is." I heard Chase say and I turned my head to see him staring at me.

Rolling my eyes, I asked him with a slight smile, "What are you doing?"

He answered just a few seconds later, "Remembering this."

Holding out my hand, I motioned him to come over. Hopping onto the trunk of the car, he grabbed my hand and held it just as I laid my head on his shoulder.

"I know this is going to sound cheesy," I warned, "but I just wish I could stop time."

"Then let's."

And we did.

"So we never got to our destination." Chase told me just as we found a hydrogen gas station.

Yep, a gas station.

The car had run out of gas.

I nodded, "Yeah. By the way, where were we even going?"

Chase blushed, "Oh yeah. Actually, I was trying to go to that river your always running off-well flying off to before the sun came up. It's even better at night, last time I've been there at least."

"Was this suppose to be a date?" I asked, crossing my arms.

He nodded, "Yes. Actually it was. I was actually hoping for it to be perfect to since it was going to be our first."

"But it was," I told him, "As much as you want to plan your life, it has a way of surprising you with unexpected things that will make you happier than you originally planned. This date may not have been what you planned but it ended better than you expected."

"How so?"

"Because it ended with me and you."

Yeah, my friend helped me with this cuddly one shot. I wanted to write this before the next episode but hey, it's cute and cuddly so that's okay.
