Zak opened his eyes, yawning as he awoke from his sleep. As he woke and rose up from his bed, he saw red and orange hues on his usually white wall and begun to freak out.
He had forgotten he could see 2 hues instead of the typical white-black-grey shades. The world seemed less dull, and more vibrant. Although, vibrant to him used to just be to have more light and white hues fill his vision.
He sighed and shook his head, trying to ease away his anxiety.
"I'm alright. I just ... need to get my mind off of this. I'm okay." He mumbled, trying to ground himself.
As he said that, he got an idea.
"I'll just call Bad and talk with him. He seems like a good person to talk about things like this."
...
"Hello?" Darryl's voice blurted, causing Zak to jolt in surprise. He could feel himself getting a bit nervous.
"Hey Bad, how are you?" Skeppy said. He already felt extremely awkward and wanted to end the call. But he couldn't— he needed to talk to him.
"I'm alright, just eating some muffins right now. How are you?" Bad asked the daunting question to Skeppy. Zak's heart began to race as he tried to tell the other what was happening to him.
"I'm scared." Zak said with a tremble in his voice as he began to shake his leg up and down. "Something's wrong with me."
"Why are you scared? Are you okay? Did someone hurt you?"
Then there was silence. A silence that lasted seconds but felt like eons to Zak. He could feel himself depersonalizing as all of his stress began to come rising up out of him, almost like a volcano right before eruption. He couldn't put his words together to form comprehensible phrases.
"I'm not hurt. There's just something happening to me ... and I don't know what to do. It's really starting to scare me." He said, breathing out heftily at the end of his sentence to avoid bursting into a storm of sobs.
"I'm here for you, Skeppy. Tell me what's happening and I'll try and help you get through this."
As Darryl finished his sentence, another hue arose from his room. A color that made Zak breathless. His room, which was vivid with red-orange, now had a more calm color.
He could see yellow now.
And he was aware that he could see the color yellow because he made his computer saver a rainbow.
It's him. He's the reason why this is happening to me.
But why?
