The Selected had been asked to gather in the dining room the day after the first dinner. Chéri and Charmant entered together, whispering to each other, almost like they were having a small argument. Finally, Chéri gave in, rolling her eyes and turning to the Selected. "Hello. Um, so, today is the first elimination. Several of you will be leaving today. Those people are: Carressa Maguelone fan-girl-2 , Bella Thomas sailors21 , Sky Gunderson Mrsjoyful , and Angelique Émilie bellaboo- ." She bit her lower lip. "Good—"

She was cut off by a door opening, which caused both twins to turn their attention to the unexpected visit of the king. They shared a glance as King Vertu walked in front of the group. "Hello, ladies," he greeted. "Tomorrow night we will be celebrating the arrival of Prince Luca of Nessuna Pace." He paused. That was the country that Côte du Soleil was on the verge of war with. "As many of you know, our country's relationship with Nessuna Pace has not been very stable, but the king and I have come up with an agreement."

The twins shared another look. Neither knew what the agreement was.

"Prince Luca will be marrying Princess Chéri." The king announced. Chéri froze as the king continued, "That will be all ladies. Have a nice day." He nodded to them, turning and walking back toward the door.

Chéri blinked a few times while the king walked out. "Wait—Hey!" She looked toward the door before running after her father. Charmant followed close behind.
