Ch. 26 What can you tell me about our Dad?
Aurora looked relieved when she saw her younger sister in the limo with Alastor and Emmanuel. She watched Alastor set her sister's belongings in the middle of the vehicle. Meanwhile, Emmanuel held a crate with a cat inside on his lap.
" Aw! Is this Louie?" Aurora asked when she saw the black and white cat stare at everyone.
" Yup! That is my Louie!" Mia proudly speaks. " Mo-Helen gave me him for my sixteenth birthday," She explained.
"He is beautiful," Aurora compliments.
Louie meowed in response.
" And he says thank you," Mia giggled.
" Lady Renaldi. Lady Thermopolis. Where would you two like to go first?" Annalise asked while looking at the two sisters.
" Land animals? Aquatic Animals? Or Museum?" Aurora asked her younger sister.
" I want to go to the San Francisco Zoo," Mia blushes. " Only if you are okay with it," She shyly stares at her older sister.
" We can go to the Zoo," Aurora softly smiled.
Mia's chocolate brown eyes sparkled, looking excited when she heard that her older sister was okay with going to the Zoo.
" Zoo it is then," Annalise warmly smiled. " Jaxon. Please inform the Chauffeur to take us to the San Francisco Zoo," She turns her gaze to Jaxon.
Jaxon pressed a button in his right ear and let the Chauffeur know to take them to the San Francisco Zoo.
" What kind of animals do you want to see?" Aurora asked her younger sister.
" Koalas. Pandas. And Elephants, to name a few," Mia thoughtfully looked at her older sister. " What about you?" She asked.
" Lions. Tigers. And Cheetahs," Aurora responded.
" I am so excited to spend time with you and get to know you!" Mia brightly smiled.
" Same here," Aurora nodded.
An hour later, the limo arrives at the San Francisco Zoo. Jaxon gets out first and helps Annalise, Rosalba, Holly, and Poppy get out of the vehicle. Hugo and Alastor got out after them. Meanwhile, Emmanuel puts Louie's crate on the seat beside him, and he follows his co-workers out of the automobile.
" Lady Thermopolis," Jaxon held his hand out to Mia.
Mia takes Jaxon's hand, and she gets out of the limo. She turns her head back at Louie and watches him meow in his crate.
" Can the limo take Louie home for me?" Mia turns to her maids.
Jaxon helps Aurora out of the limo, and he closes the door while the eldest goes to stand by her maids and bodyguards.
" Yes. We can have the Chauffeur take Louie home," Holly kindly smiled.
" Great! I will feel so bad if Louie waited in the limo for many hours," Mia sighed in relief.
Poppy knocks on the window, causing the Chauffeur to pull it down and stare at her. " Please, take Mia's belongings and her cat back to Ambassador Renaldi's home?" She asked.
The Chauffeur nodded.
Poppy stepped back, and she watched the limo drive away. She turns around and formally nods her head at Mia.
" Thank you so much!" Mia kindly smiles at Poppy. She then turns to her older sister, and she hugs her arm. " Ready to celebrate our 16th birthday Part two?" She asked.
" I'm ready," Aurora nodded.
" Let's go!" Mia beamed, looking excited to spend the day with her older sister.
The sisters walked towards the San Francisco Zoo's entrance while their maids and bodyguards kept a distance to give them privacy. However, they were near to protect them in case of a situation got severe.
" So, what grade are you this year? I am wondering if we are in the same grade or not?" Mia asked.
" I am a Sophomore," Aurora responded.
" Same here! Cool! Cool," Mia looked relieved that she and her older sister were in the same school year.
" Where are you currently attending? I figure Uncle Ollie will have me get transferred to your school," Aurora looks at her younger sister.
" I attend Grove High School. It's a Charter School," Mia responded.
" That's cool. I attended an All-Girl School called Cathedral High School," Aurora looks away and stops walking when she sees that they have reached the Zoo's front gate.
Annalise gives a ticket to Aurora, and Holly does the same for Mia. The sisters thanked their maids, passing their tickets to the employee, who let them get inside.
The sisters stepped inside the Zoo, and they looked at their surroundings, feeling excited. The only time Aurora went to the Zoo was for her birthdays growing up with her father, Uncle Oliver, and cousins. However, Mia has only gone to the Zoo once for a school field trip.
" Here is the map of the Zoo, girls?" Rosalba gives a map to Aurora so that the sisters can see where they should go.
" Mia. Where do you want to go first?" Aurora asked while looking at her younger sister.
" Since we are close to it, we can check out the African Region," Mia points at the map.
Aurora hummed when she saw that the African Region was homes to the Giraffes, Kudus, Ostriches, and Zebras.
" Yeah! We can go there," Aurora nodded. She turns her head back to their maids and bodyguards. " If you guys need to use the restroom, please let us know," She looks at them.
" Oh, yes! Please, tell us," Mia blushes. She forgot for a second that they had company.
The sisters' maids and bodyguards nodded.
" Let's go," Aurora hugs her younger sister's arm. She begins to walk with her to the African Region with their maids and bodyguards following behind them.
Once they reached the African Region, the two sisters began to take pictures and videos of each other and next to each other. Then they had their maids and bodyguards join them with the animals in the background.
" I cannot wait to show these to Uncle Ollie and Santiago," Mia brightly smiled while walking out of the African Region with her older sister.
" Same. I do wish Uncle Ollie and Santiago were with us. But, I know they have important business to attend to," Aurora responded while looking at her younger sister.
" Hey! What can you tell me about our Dad?" Mia asked since she wanted to know about her father, and she figured asking her older sister would be the right person.
" Father was kind, loving, and understanding. He was strict but was doing it so that his daughter would be alright in the world," Aurora speaks while daydreaming about her father.
" He was smart and very handsome," Aurora giggled. She remembers how many of her classmates' mothers would laugh and act like high school girls whenever her father interacted with them.
" I remember one of my former classmates' mother commented that Father had the looks and charms of a Prince. Which is amusing now knowing he was a Crown Prince," Aurora whispered.
Mia's gaze softened. Even though she hasn't met her father in person, she wonders if he would have loved her.
" Hey. Do you think Dad would have loved me?" Mia asked.
Aurora looks at her younger sister. " Of course, he will love you," She grabs her sister's hand and stares at her fondly.
Mia beamed, feeling relieved to know that their father would have loved her.
" You know. You have father's goofy smile," Aurora compliments. " So bright and warm," She whispered.
Mia blushes, looking surprised to hear that she has their father's smile. Her gazes softened, feeling happy to hear that she at least has something of her father.
" And his excitement for wanting to go everywhere that curious him," Aurora giggled. " I think they call it being Free-spirited?" She glanced at her maids and bodyguards for confirmation.
" Being independent. Yes," Jaxon nodded.
" Well. I did grow up being independent," Mia awkwardly rubbed the back of her neck. " But, people do walk over me at times," She sadly sighed, remembering her former best friend, Lilly Mocavitz.
" Try to at least think, act, and make decisions for your benefit and not of others. It is okay to be selfish if it makes you happy," Aurora lightly squeezes her younger sister's hand.
Mia nodded.
" Look! Gorillas!" Mia changes the subject while pointing at the Gorilla Preserve. She steps inside with her sister, their maids, and bodyguards.
