Ravenpaw||

              The black tom sat in front of the bent log, his tail twitching in anticipation. Sure, every cat in his Clan hated him, but you were made to go to at least three Gatherings as an apprentice. So far, he had only gone to two. This was his last moon being trained as an apprentice, so he was practically being forced into going to the Gathering. He didn't hate it though; if something, he was excited. The cats in CloudClan accepted him for who he was, not like some annoying furball.

              "The cats who will be going to the Gathering tonight will be Coldpelt, Eaglepaw, Moosepaw, Poppyflight, Yellowfur, Larkpaw, Birchberry, Stonepaw, and Sealeap. Clan dismissed." Ravenpaw gaped at Rainstar in shock; he was supposed to go to the Gathering too! Getting to his paws, he saw Minnow, Hawkpaw, Sedgepaw, and Eaglepaw all huddled together in a group. They were whispering rapidly and quietly, but from what it looked like, Eaglepaw was being forced into something she didn't want to do.

              Ravenpaw started to head towards Rainstar's den, but Sedgepaw stopped him in his tracks. "Hey, furball! Your girlfriend wants to tell you something!" Ravenpaw tilted his head. Girlfriend? Nah. Nobody liked him, so how could he have a girlfriend? Wait. Did somebody like him? Before he knew it, Eaglepaw was shoved into his flank, and she fell to the ground in a heap of fur. "Eaglepaw! Are you okay?" He helped her up to her paws, and she was licking her chest fur in embarrassment. "Y-yeah, I'm fine. Thanks." She didn't look at him, and he turned back to Sedgepaw and his group. "Why'd you do that?" He smirked. "Do what? Your girlfriend wanted to talk to you, that's all." His eyes were full of malice, and Ravenpaw had to keep himself under control. "She's not my girlfriend!" He spat." I like her as a friend, and she thinks the same of me! I have my eyes set on someone else, even though she doesn't love me as I love her. But of course, you had to mess that up too! Everything you do is to hurt me or bring me down, and I don't want Eaglepaw to get dragged into this either! So, leave her alone and go for me instead, but I don't want to see you lay a paw on her. Understood?" Ravenpaw was itching for a fight, but he couldn't do that right before going to see the leader. "Understood, tough guy. But just know that this doesn't come without a price. And that girl that you love? Well, sorry about that buddy, but she's mine now." Ravenpaw quickly looked at Minnow, who seemed unhappy but proud. "What about Lillypaw? Weren't you in love with her?" Sedgepaw let out a laugh. "Not really. Sure, she's pretty, but what is there to love? She's with that Larkpaw dude anyways. Still my friend, but probably gonna end up getting kicked out of the group. She's useless now. See ya, scrap." He scratched his cheek and went on his way. "Oh, and by the way," He called over his shoulder. "I don't think that Eaglepaw is satisfied with that "just a friend" nonsense."

              Ravenpaw turned to face Eaglepaw, who still refused to look him in the eye. "So...That's what this is about?" He asked, searching for her eyes. "Um, y-yeah. But I should probably go since you obviously don't seem interested and you look really busy and-" He touched her cheek with his nose. She looked at him with round eyes, her expression full of surprise. "Stay. I wanna know why I didn't know about this before." She looked at him with a look that said: It's kinda obvious on why you didn't know, you mousebrain. "Well, why would I tell you that I liked you?" Ravenpaw purred. "So that I could tell you I liked you too." She flicked her tail in disbelief. "You've got to be joking. You just told Sedgepaw that you only thought of me as a friend." He sighed. She had plenty to learn. "Well, since when do I trust Sedgepaw with anything, and how was I supposed to know you liked me too?" She nodded, still full of shock by what he had said. "I gotta go now, but I'll talk later." Ravenpaw left her and her thoughts and went to speak to Rainstar.

              The den smelled of old cobwebs and moss that hadn't been cleaned for moons. There were leftover bones from prey that looked like they had been eaten about the last leaffall. Overall, Rainstar's den was a mess, and it smelled horrible as well. "Um, Rainstar?" Ravenpaw called out, unaware of where he was stepping due to a layer of dust floating around in the den. "Yes?" Rainstar's voice came from the end of the den. "You forgot to say that I was going to the Gathering as well. I've only been to two Gatherings so far, and this is my last moon training as an apprentice." He felt something squish underneath his paw and hoped Rainstar would answer soon so he could leave the den. "Oh. Well, typically I would tell Coldpelt, but I know that she isn't very fond of you, so you may come. You may leave now." Ravenpaw let out a breath he hadn't even realized he'd been holding in. "Thank you!" He ran as fast as he could into the fresh air and blue skies. Eaglepaw was waiting outside of the den and padded up to him. "Do you think we could hang out? Larkpaw is trying to be cool and is hanging out with Sedgepaw, and Moosepaw is hanging out in the medicine den with Lillypaw. She told me that she's had a huge crush on her since kithood. That's a long time." Ravenpaw nodded in agreement but answered quickly. "We're about to head out. Follow me; we can talk along the way." He joined the group made up of the cats that were going to the Gathering and padded out of camp, keeping close to the group and talking to Eaglepaw the entire time they were walking. 

              When they arrived, Ravenpaw immediately spotted the ginger and brown pelts that belonged to his best friends. "Minkpaw! Longpaw!" He raced up to them, Eaglepaw at his heels."They greeted him with their lovely smiles and laughs but stopped talking when they saw Eaglepaw. "Ohhhhhh, I see now," Minkpaw teased. "Ravenpaw can't hang out with us anymore because he's got a girlfriend." Longpaw nodded and laughed. "So, who's this? Is she your girlfriend?" Longpaw fluffed out her pelt to hide her jealousy. It was true, he could tell immediately that she was a sucker for Eaglepaw's amazing pelt. Not to mention the fact that she had probably developed a crush on her already. Longpaw was a lesbian, and she was pretty open about it. Minkpaw, on the other hand, didn't take Longpaw's statement as a joke. She too was jealous, but not in the same way that Longpaw was. It was a known fact that Minkpaw had had a crush on Ravenpaw for a while. And even though relationships outside of their normal Clans were allowed, Ravenpaw just didn't see her the same way as she did him, and she respected that.

              "Guys, this is Eaglepaw. She's a new apprentice. As for the  girlfriend...we haven't really decided on that part yet." Eaglepaw looked up at him. "Yes. I am. And if you guys have-" He stopped her before things got bad. "Okay, we get it, you're my girlfriend. Eaglepaw, I want you to meet Minkpaw and Longpaw, my two best friends." They both greeted her kindly, with warm smiles and inviting words. The four sat as a group when the Gathering began, and Ravenpaw couldn't help but notice the fact that Eaglepaw was leaning against him the entire time. The stars above them twinkled in the night sky, and Ravenpaw couldn't help but wonder: Does StarClan approve? What about Minnow?

This chapter was longer than anticipated...oh well! That means more book for you guys to read, I guess! it also seemed to take forever to write, but seemed so short! Anyways, enough on that topic, what did you guys think about Raven x Eagle? I finally managed to finish this chapter tonight at precisely 11:11 p.m. WOW. I have 20 minutes, but I don't feel like getting a head-start on the next chapter. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving in the U.S., so I might not update, but I'll do my best.
