Ravenpaw||

Ravenpaw sat sulking in camp, bored out of his mind. He had been punished by Coldpelt. Rainstar didn't seem to care much, but Coldpelt did. She made him stay in camp and check the elders for ticks, not to mention the fact that he was also in charge of cleaning out the moss bedding. Sure, he could go out of camp, but Coldpelt being the annoying deputy that she was assigned him to have two bodyguards: Yellowfur and Poppyflight. Both cats were still young, but they took their job seriously, especially because he knew that they were practically dying to get apprentices.
Even better, Hawkpaw didn't get punished. And Minnow, well, she was allowed to stay in camp for as long as she liked, but she wasn't allowed to distract the Clan from any of their jobs. Another thing they hadn't announced, was that Rainstar was going to end up choosing the cats to go with him to the Gathering, and Ravenpaw knew he had no chance of being one of them. With his punishment of being stuck in camp, there was no way he could go.
"Ravenpaw, hurry up, we don't want Coldpelt to get mad at us for being out here longer then we need to be." Yellowfur nudged him forward, practically causing him to drop the balls of moss he had under his chin. He walked faster but kept at a pace that was still considered slow, and his bodyguards had to keep pushing him to go faster. He started running and tried to contain a purr of amusement when the two young cats couldn't keep up. "Growing old so fast? Coldpelt won't be happy about that." He joked happily, practically dropping the moss while speaking. "And you still seem to be the same old clumsy Ravenpaw." The black tom heard Yellowfur grumble to Poppyflight.
"Shut your trap squeaker, we don't want to get in trouble." Yellowfur's attitude turned cold and harsh out of nowhere, and Ravenpaw knew better than to run his mouth any longer. For the rest of the time, they walked in silence, the only noises to be heard were the sounds of nature. Ravenpaw passed through the thorny thicket that led into camp, shocked to see that everyone was already gone. Going to the elders' den to clean out their nests, he saw that only Sunstriker was there. "Where is everyone?" He asked solemnly. "They all left, complaining about some Twoleg that was passing through our territory. Those mouse-brains, thinking that they could defeat a Twoleg," He muttered. "That poor Twoleg!" Sunstriker widened his eyes at the apprentice's words. "I know we aren't supposed to have remorse for them, but our Clan is fighting an innocent No-fur! I have to stop them." He said, completely forgetting about the most important thing.
"You can't." The two words that Sunstriker said were true, but hurt the most. His response was even better than he thought it was going to be. "Coldpelt's not here, so I can do whatever I want." And with those words, he ran out of the den, completely forgetting about the moss nests, and went to go help the Twoleg.
Ravenpaw's thoughts swirled around in his mind as he ran through the forest, mud clumping in his already black pelt. What was he gonna do when he got there? Unfortunately, he didn't have time to think about that, because he ran directly into the fight. Looking across the clearing, Ravenpaw saw Minnow and Sedgepaw fighting the Twoleg. Their paws were batting at its pale paws, leaving traces of blood each time. He ran forward, leaping onto Sedgepaw's back, but failing miserably when he tumbled to the ground. Sedgepaw immediately stopped fighting the Twoleg and turned his attention to Ravenpaw. He braced himself for what was coming.
Sedgepaw smirked as he looked down at his littermate. "Hey Lillypaw, Hawkpaw, you might wanna see this!" He called out, locking eyes with Ravenpaw. Less than two seconds later, a brown pelt appeared next to him, blue eyes peeking from the other side of him. Both cats turned to look as Minnow approached the small group. She gasped. "Ravenpaw! Let Sedgepaw go! He doesn't deserve to be treated like this!" She cried out. Sedgepaw let out a purr of amusement. "Oh...I see now. Little Ravenpaw here has been tricking you into thinking that he's me, right?" Ravenpaw flushed as all of them looked down at him. Sedgepaw unsheathed his claws and dragged his paw along Ravenpaw's muzzle, leaving his vision blurred by blood. "Well, I can tell you one thing." He continued. "He's not me. He doesn't have what it takes to be me, so he can't be me." Minnow took a step back. "I-is this true?" She turned her attention toward him, dismissing the battle around her from her mind. Ravenpaw saw tears welling up in her eyes, and although he had hated lying to her, he knew that she would find out at one point. That point was not now. "No! He's lying to you! Don't believe him!" He said, holding his cries of pain inside as he felt Sedgepaw slam a paw into his face. "Well, looks like he can't go down without a fight. Give him what he deserves." Sedgepaw's tail flicked and Lillypaw leaned down, slashing at his belly, and even though it was very subtle, he still heard it. "I'm sorry Ravenpaw." All he remembered after that was just blood and fur, both being his own, of course. He tried batting at their faces a couple of times, but he knew that it was no use. They were always going to win, and he had to accept that.
"Wake up, you piece of fox-dung!" Sedgepaw said, his voice rough. Ravenpaw struggled to open his eyes but managed to get to his paws and walk right into a bush. Classic. "Maybe you should be called Clumsypaw!" Lillypaw jeered from outside the bush. "Or what about Blindpaw? He obviously can't see very well!" Hawkpaw caught on to the tease. Right now, all Ravenpaw wanted to do was die. Of embarrassment, of torture, of anything that could kill him. But he knew there was no way to end his problems, and everything was just going to go downhill from there.
