BREY's POV

I felt like a candle that was slowly melting with each passing second. I know myself as a tough man but I felt so weak all of a sudden. I've never been this vulnerable before and it was because of the thought that I might lose the two most important women in my life.

I wanted to fly into a fit of rage. My mother was currently in the ICU and the doctors were trying their best to revive her but that wasn't the end of it. Ophelia just called me and she has Juno. She's kidnapped my cara mia!

I pulled my hair in so much frustration and incomparable rage. My head felt hazy and it seemed that I lost the capability to think all of a sudden because of the situation. I knew myself to be calm even during those difficult moments that I've been through. In all those situations, I could still think of any way to get out of any situation but this one is different.

The possibility that I might lose Juno and my mother is giving me the incomparable fear.

I'm used of being alone all my life but now that I thought everything's finally falling into place, they want to use my loved ones to destroy me. Now that they have my weakness, I don't know what to do. I felt lost all of a sudden.

I wanted to go to Juno right away and save her but I couldn't just leave my mother because I knew that if I'd do that, they would surely harm her. I already knew what Ophelia's capable of. She would never be true to her words. A person like her doesn't know the meaning of word of honour.

She would surely kill my mother and Juno but she wanted to play with me first before doing that that's why she's making me choose.

I knew I have to do something in order to prevent that from happening.

I was torn between rescuing Juno or protect my mom. I didn't want to lose one of them. I'm a selfish guy and I would do anything to keep them both by my side, safe and sound.

My heart was beating so rapidly because of worry and fear. I was pacing back and forth, panicking and feeling so pathetic because I couldn't think properly. Then my father arrived. He just came back from the cafeteria.

"Son, you should calm down." He said when he noticed how worried and panicky I was but instead of doing so, I punched the wall because of so much rage. I couldn't take it anymore. People nearby got surprised of my sudden outburst.

"Am I such a bad person for me to go through all these, papa? I've discovered what really happened to mom in the past and I've finally forgave her. I thought, everything's going to finally be fine now that she's with us. But now, she's fighting for her life again because she's sick. Just when everything's falling into place for everyone around me, these happened.

"I don't know what to do anymore, papa. Why is it so hard for me to achieve happiness? All I wanted was to have a complete family, to experience how to be accepted wholly by my love ones and to be loved in return. They're just simple things but it seems like fate doesn't want to give me those things that I've longed for. " I couldn't stop the lone tear that fell from my eye. My chest felt so heavy and I needed to release some on my emotions so that I wouldn't burst.

"I know how you feel, son, but you shouldn't lose hope. You have me, your mother and Juno. We all love you. You should stay strong because this is not you. Where is the tough and strong Brey that I know? You're a strong person especially when you're with Juno. I could tell that she changed you a lot. It's as if she became your strength. Use that to fight all the problems that we're facing right now."

"How can I do that when my source of strength has been kidnapped? Juno is also in grave danger as we speak. Your witch of an ex-wife kidnapped her!"

"What?! Ophelia has kidnapped Juno?! Then what are you waiting for? Why are you still here? You should go and report this to the police!" I shook my head.

"Ophelia threatened me. She wants me to choose between mom and Juno. I know that I shouldn't let her manipulate me by her threats but I can't help but to get scared. What if she would harm Juno or mom if I'd do something that she didn't like? I don't know what to do anymore. She's got my cara mia." My father's eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

"She wants you to choose between your mother and Juno? How?"

"She wants me to save only one of them. If I chose Juno, I will let mom die by making sure that she will not have a heart transplant. If I chose mom, Juno will die." His face contorted in anger upon hearing what I've said. The look of disgust was there too.

"Ophelia has gone mad. She's doing all these because she's desperate. I can't believe this!" my father's voice was full of hatred and disgust for his ex-wife. Then his face hardened. He put his hand on my shoulder and stared at me intently.

"Don't let that evil of a woman play with you like this. Remember, you are Brey Austin Carter Amouretti, my son and sole heir. Don't let the likes of that low life of a woman play with your weakness right now and use that to bring you down! She's just using your weakness to target you where you're most vulnerable. Show her what you're made of! You've been through a lot in life and this is nothing! Give her her own dose of medicine. Show her what a true Amouretti can do." he said sternly and it felt like I've woken up from a deep slumber because of what he said. He's right.

I temporarily let my emotions rule over me because I was scared that I might lose Juno and mom. I became weak and Ophelia took that opportunity to play with me. I forgot what I'm capable of doing.

In the past, I've used my brains and courage to succeed in life. I've used whatever I could to get anything that I've desired and I became successful. Now, it's time for me to use what I'm capable of for the right reasons.

Why did I even doubt myself? That's not me. This is not the time for me to be weak! The lives of the two most important people in my life are in danger and I have to move!

"You're right, papa. I shouldn't let this go on any further. Ophelia already had been playing with our family for so long and it's time for me to end it. I won't let her get away with her sins. I'll make sure to make her pay. She will regret that she ever crossed paths with me!" I said out through gritted teeth as my hands balled into fists.

"That's my son." My father said proudly. I was about to say something when the door of the ICU opened and one of the doctors of my mother came out.

"How's my mother, Doctor Clinton?" I asked.

"She's stable now, Mr. Amouretti, but we're running out of time. We really need to do a heart transplant within 24 hours. If not, her body will surely give up and we don't want that to happen. Every second counts now, Mr. Amouretti. I'll try to call the Heart Center to ask if they can provide a heart for your mother because the hospital doesn't have available heart donor until now. But at the same time, everyone of us needs to move. The hospital had been searching but to no avail. If you happen to find a possible donor, let us know." My fists clenched tightly because of what I've heard. I nodded my head in response.

When the doctor left, I faced my father.

"Papa, I will leave everything to you here. I have something to do." he nodded understandingly.

"Don't worry, son. I'll make sure that your mother will be safe here. I'll call someone to---"

"---No need, papa. I'll call someone to ensure your safety here at the hospital while I'm doing everything to fix this."

"Okay. I understand." I left him there with long strides as I pulled my phone out of my pocket and dialed someone's number.

"Yes, bud. What's up?"

"I need protection. Make sure to send capable people to guard my family here at the hospital. They're in danger. Don't let the enemies notice their presence at hospital at any cost." I heard him chuckle.

"Is that all?"

"No. I also need help into saving my kidnapped girlfriend. I am not sure of her exact location right now that's why I need all the expert people in the organization."

"Wow. Your hands are full these days. You just asked the TBG's help for your mother's heart transplant and now, you asked the organization's help too. You've never asked our help in the past but now that you asked, you have a lot of problems to be solved at the same time." he chuckled before he continued.

"Anyway, I'm on it. I'll call you again later to inform you about the next move." He was about to end the call when I spoke.

"Wait, bud. How's the two men? Did they sing yet?" I asked with dangerously calm voice, referring to the two men who tried to kill me the other day.

"Well, they just did. I was actually about to call you to inform you about it but you called me first. Anyway, I'll tell you what I've discovered later. And about the heart for your mother, we already found one. I just hope that the heart will be compatible to your mother." joy rose within me upon hearing that.

"Really? You're not kidding me, right? Who found the donor?" I couldn't hide the excitement in my voice.

"When did I ever kid around about serious things like this?" I almost rolled my eyes.

"Everytime." I heard his laugh.

"Well, not this time, bud. I'm serious. Anyway, the TBG was the one who found the donor. In short, your friends found it. The patient hopeless and already dying so he decided to give his heart to someone in need. We only need to wait for him to flat line before extracting the heart. The patient is on an ambulance right now, on the way to the hospital where your mother is staying right now."

"Thank you, bud. Tell everyone my gratitude."

"You don't need to thank me. I am not a member of the TBG. Well, the organization wanted to help as well in finding a heart for your mother but the TBG already found one."

"Of course. The TBG will do anything to help. No need to be emotional." That familiar annoying voice spoke on the background. He's obviously being smug again. So, he's there too.

"I didn't know that you're there too. Anyway, thank you for the help." He chuckled.

"You know our rules. We help each other in times of needs. Anyway, see you later, bud." they then ended the call.

I quickly went straight to the parking lot while my eyes were carefully scrutinizing around me, looking for any suspicious movements and faces. I was about to enter my car when I noticed five men entered the premises of the hospital. They went to different directions while acting normally.

One of them walked towards me when he noticed me.

I smirked. So, he's the leader of this mission...

"Who sent you?" I asked the moment he finally arrived in front of me.

"Viper." I nodded my head. Bingo!

"How come you're already here? I just finished talking to Viper just now." I asked while scrutinizing his outfit.

"We've been monitoring the place since an hour ago. Viper sent us earlier after he finished tormenting those two men in his dungeon."

"Good. You know what to do then. Make sure to protect my family at all cost. Make sure that no one will know about my mother's heart transplant which will happen today. Be careful so that the enemy won't notice our plan."

"Yes, bud. Don't worry. I'll be the one to operate your mother that's why I'm here." My eyebrows creased when I heard what he said. Now, I knew why he's wearing his white coat.

"I thought you're here for the mission? How will you do that? I mean, my mother has a surgeon already and---"

"---Don't underestimate the organization's power. You know what we could do. Of course, we have already arranged everything since you asked for our help at TBG's club. Remember that some of the TBG members are part of the organization as well." He said as if I didn't know that.

"Sometimes I wonder how you manage to fulfill your duty as an agent and a doctor at the same time. I thought you would stop this job when you had Syril as your patient but I guess not." he smirked.

"I can do anything. Besides, I only stopped for quite sometime because I needed to supervise Syril's recovery but now, I am back. Don't worry, we'll make sure to save your mother. Now, go to Viper. He's waiting for you." He answered before he contacted his men instructed them for their next move. I shook my head. Sometimes, my friends are on the smug and happy go lucky side but when someone needs help, everyone becomes serious.

Then, I saw an ambulance arrived.

"The donor is here, bud. I need to go." he was about to go when I stopped him by holding his shoulder.

"Bud, save my mother." He nodded his head.

"I'll try my best, bud." when he left, I got inside my car and maneuvered it out of the hospital. But five minutes later, I noticed a black car obviously tailing me. F*ck! Ophelia is really getting on my nerves!

Then my phone rang. It was Viper.

"Bud, I'm being followed." I informed him the moment I answered his call.

"I know. That's why I called you. Just keep on driving. Falcon will do the rest. Thankfully, I told him to follow you."

"Falcon? You have a new partner?" I couldn't help but ask. Viper chuckled.

"Yeah, for the meantime. Hawk is busy with his personal life right now. Anyway, stay on the lane. Don't take the right exit. Just continue driving. I'll get back to you later."

"Okay." I answered. I just kept on driving quietly for about five minutes while kept on glancing at my rearview mirror. The black car made sure not to get too close to me, probably thinking that I haven't noticed them yet. They're just following me, probably to monitor my actions.

Then my eyes widened when the car that was tailing me suddenly exploded. Thankfully, there weren't any cars nearby.

Then my lips stretched with a smirk. Whoever this Falcon was, he's good.

"Serves you right." I said icily.

"Bud, you can take the next exit now. Everything's clear." The voice of Viper blared out on the speaker.

"Gotcha." I responded and did as I was told.

30 more minutes later and I arrived at the Et Vindex's headquarters. Et Vindex is the name of the organization that controls the underground where I've been a member since 5 years ago. And just like Viper said, a few members of the TBG men are also members of this organization.

The organization ceased to function 20 years ago but 5 years ago, it got resurrected by the 8 newly elected leaders. The members were carefully chosen to ensure the success of the organization. Each leader has his own people under him.

But the 3 leaders out of the 8 aren't active anymore though they didn't formally renounce their positions yet. I am one of them. I just didn't see any reason for me to continue my position because I already got what I've wanted.

But now, I can't believe that I came back.

"It's been a while since you last came here, 5." I faced the man who spoke. The corner of my lips twitched.

"You know why I came back, Viper. Did you already do everything that I've told you to do? Where are those two men?" I asked him. Viper was my right hand man. I haven't seen him since I took a leave from the Et Vindex.

"Yes. I already did. This way." I followed him. Just like I've thought, he led me to his favorite torture chamber. When he opened the door, the unsightly state of the two men who tried to harm me came into view. They're unconscious and full of bruises. Their lips were bleeding.

"Do you want me to wake them up, 5?" my eyes squinted.

"No need. Just tell me the information that you managed to extract from them."

"According to these f*ckers, your stepmother and your sister planned everything together because they want to erase you and your mother in order to get the Amouretti fortune for themselves. Ophelia planned to kidnap Juno as well in order to distract you. She knew that she's your weakness." My breathing became hard as my anger rose even more. I couldn't believe that Nadia participated in it too. I couldn't accept that my own sister did that.

"Not just that. They're planning to dispose your father as well the moment they succeed on killing you and your mother using Juno as a hostage. That way, they would get the Amouretti family's fortune without a hitch." My hands formed into tight fists.

"Is that all?" I asked through gritted teeth.

"Well, they didn't want to tell me where could Ophelia and Nadia took Juno but when I was about to cut their tongues off before you arrived, they finally gave me the information. I already have the location." I smirked dangerously.

"What about Diablo? Did he succeed on tricking the enemy?"

"Yes. Just like what we expected, Ophelia sent her men to the hospital but they we're just watching from afar probably waiting for any wrong move. Your father stayed outside the room just like what we told him to do so that we could deceive Ophelia's men that your mother is still there. Little do they know that she's is no longer inside. She's now with Diablo. According to him, they're about to begin the transplant."

"Good. Everything's going goes as planned. Now, we can freely move to save my cara mia. Ready our men. I'll go with you." he was about to answer when someone arrived.

"Bud, I already traced Ophelia's location." He informed smugly. My eyebrows creased.

"Well, we already know her location." Viper answered.

"Ophelia isn't that stupid like I thought she was after all. She transferred Juno to another place. One of our men saw her car at a gasoline station about 30 minutes ago. They followed her but lost track of her. Thankfully, there were CCTVs around the area where she disappeared to. She's in this address." He showed me a small piece of paper. I was about to take it when he didn't let me.

I huffed.

"Really? Don't tell me, you're charging me?" I asked in irritation. He smirked.

"Of course. I am not under you, 5. I'm under number 2 so of course, you should pay me for my hard work." he answered, acting innocent.

"Fine. I'll send the money to your account, you swindler!" he just laughed out loud and handed me the address.

"I am not. I also helped into finding your mother a heart donor but I didn't charge you." he reasoned out.

"Whatever." I faced Viper.

"Let's go. We don't have time to waste here with this swindler. Ophelia might hurt Juno so we need to go there as soon as we can."

"Okay, 5. I'll call our men."

Wait for me, cara mia. I'm coming to save you...

I was confident that we could pull everything off according to my plans. When we arrived there, I noticed that the house was full of guards but they're obviously unaware of our presence.

"Falcon and the other are already in place."

"Good. Tell them to begin." I instructed. Later on, bullets from our snipers killed the guards outside. There wasn't a single sound because they used suppressors just like I've told them. That was our cue. We infiltrated the house quietly.

"It's better for you to let us handle this, 5." he said and instructed our men to go to different parts of the house.

"I know how to fight!" I hissed.

"I know but you're our boss. We can't afford to endanger you." Viper answered.

"I don't care about me! My cara mia is our priority." he was about to oppose further when we heard a gunshot upstairs. We were about to run towards the stairs when three more men with guns came down. We hid right away as they rained bullets at our direction.

"Damn it!" I retaliated and managed to shoot one of them. Viper expertly shot the remaining two.

"Let's go!" I said and we went to the second floor.

"Go to the left and I will go to the right." I said to Viper when we arrived there.

"But---"

"No more buts! There are many rooms here and we can't waste time!" I hissed. He nodded his head and obliged.

I stealthily opened the first door but no one was there. I did the same to the second room but it was the same. I was about to open the third when I heard another gunshot. It came from the last room. I hurriedly went there and kick the door open just to get surprised of what I saw.

"Cara!" I almost screamed in horror. Iwas about to run towards her when I felt a presence behind me. I turned aroundto see who it was but everything happened so fast. I dodged but it was alreadylate. I groaned when I felt that searing pain as she shot me.
