Mary's gone. She's truly gone. She's never coming back. We could've saved her, but we will didn't. All because we didn't notice.. We all should've noticed. It's all my fault. I seem to be laughing a lot too.. I'm scared. I don't want to die. I don't want to die..

Ethan put his journal away. His eyes burned with salty tears, dripping onto the pages of the journal. Megan was in the corner, sitting still for once instead of playing with her friends or chatting about Laughing Gas syndrome. She was crying. Ethan went over to her, crouching down. "It's gonna be ok, Megan. Mary is in a better place." "But I don't want her to be in a better place!! Here is the better place!" She stood up, pushed Ethan out of the way, and ran off to one of the dormitory halls of the bunker. Ethan sighed. He knew she'd never understand.
He stared at his journal. He truly realized it was inevitable. This entire bunker would one day rot away like the people inside of it. He didn't want to die.. He didn't want to die...
