Kyoya woke up with a start.

Another one.

He looked around the dark room and breathed a sigh of relief.

He immediately sat up straight and rubbed his eyes groggily.

Then looked out.

It was raining heavily and thunder and lightning clashed together in a raging battle.

He felt another presence beside him.

"Babe?"

Kyoya smiled at his husband who looked at him sleepily.

"What's wrong?" Tsubasa asked, looking right past Kyoya's practiced yet charming smile.

The greenette shook his head, his smile dropping.

"Nightmare." He couldn't lie to his eagle.

Tsubasa was immediately at his side and hugging his waist and buried his head in the crook of Kyoya's neck.

"What happened?"

Kyoya sighed and rested his head against Tsubasa's shoulder.

"... Nothing."

Tsubasa sighed and kissed his lions cheek and rubbed soothing circles on Kyoya's backside.

The greenette's tense muscles almost immediately relaxed and let himself be carried away.

"... It was about my family." Kyoya finally said as Tsubasa nodded but continued cradling Kyoya.

"When the house burned down and how I barely escaped with Kakeru... It was.. one of the most traumatizing experiences of my life.. And I couldn't save them.."

Tsubasa kissed Kyoya's forehead softly.

"Kyoya, honey, it wasn't your fault." Tsubasa comforted as Kyoya rested his head on the silver haired man's lap.

"But.." "No buts." Tsubasa interrupted sternly.

Kyoya sighed but smiled anyway.

He loved his husband.

Then the doorknob rattled and opened and Kiara stood there confused.

"Papa? Daddy? I head a scream and I came in here to see what happened." Kiara explained innocently as she stood there in her pajamas while holding her lion plushie.

"It's nothing sweetie." Kyoya assured "I just had a nightmare."

Kiara walked up to them and crawled on top of Tsubasa who kissed her cheek.

"What was it about?" She asked.

"I can't remember anymore." Kyoya lied as Kiara gave him a skeptical look but gave up.

She knew exactly when her parents were lieing.

It kinda scared Tsubasa.

"Um... Since I'm here anyway... Can I sleep with you tonight? I don't like thunder."

Tsubasa smiled and Kyoya chuckled.

"That's why you came in here, you could've just asked sweetheart." Tsubasa layed back down and Kyoya rested his daughter in the middle before laying down himself.

"I didn't come here because of that!" Kiara protested indignantly as Kyoya smiled softly before kissing her forehead.

"Of course you didn't." Kyoya mummered sleepily and closed his eyes.

Kiara tried to protest but was too tired so let it go.

Tsubasa kissed them both before pulling the cover up and cuddling the two greenettes.

"Night." He whispered but the two were already asleep.

"Love you two."
